No. Enjoy your game for what it is or play a different game.

When a player gets flooded or screwed the game is faster.

Playing against a flooded or screwed player is at least as fun as being mana flooded or screwed is unfun,
The fun is distributed less evenly, but it's (slightly) more fun overall.

Also, while well built decks can still get flooded or screwed, it is less likely.
So it rewards good deck building. Which is a significant skill component. In your tournament. That tests skill.

Only if you distribute some unhinged cards to all the players. I would love to play a unhinged game.

You're right about the mana though

You could run lion's eye diamond alongside one with nothing for redundancy, which would also let you use infernal tutor to assemble the combo more reliably.

We do, actually. The problem is that smashing your Riptide with a hammer tends to get one kicked out of the store.

They used them in sieges quite extensively, but not very much outside of that.

There was a type of pavise they used, yes. Initially for archers, then later for peasant musketeers. Samurai didn't use them often, as far as I can tell, but I didn't look too deeply into it besides double checking that I recalled them even using them in the first place correctly.

A waste of a feat/perk/skill/equivalent at best.

I don't think I've ever seen a system where exotic weapons were worth taking outside of super specific builds that were borderline exploiting the game mechanics themselves. Most of the time, anything you can achieve with an exotic weapon can be done with a "normal" weapon with the same or lesser resource investment (especially if you allow any sort of crafting systems).

How do you arm against exotic feels, /tg/?

They usually work fine for their intended application. In some settings 'exotic' is normal.
