>Your doctor advises you to play fewer traditional games
Is there a way playing traditional games would be unhealthy?
I've pulled some rough all-nighters before, but the only way I can see a game being unhealthy is if it ends up causing too much stress. And the prescription for that would be to play different traditional games, not fewer.
>>46179644
>I tell her it won't be a problem
>I don't have anyone to play with anyway
>>46179644
I don't think that's physically possible at this point.
The idea is you are but a citizen on a non-imperial planet during Great Crusade.Your planetary government decided to not join Imperium so you are going to get invaded.
Your planet is human enough to not be considered xenos, but after millennia of disconnection from Terra left your population slightly changed.
Depending on which legion invades you (just one legion) how fucked are you.
I know that Leman and his wolves left just smoking craters, Mortarion left even less that that, Lorgar would purge everything he did not like and getting killed was preferable to ending on planet under Night Lords.
On the other hand Ultramarines, Salamanders and Thousand Sons were bros that would rather uplift the conquered so your life might actually improve.
what about others (of even those if someone disagrees)?
Lead a pro-Imperial coup.
>>46179170
Logar also attempted to rebuild what was broken.
That was the Emperor's main problem with him, It's only cool when Guilliman does it.
>>46179324
huehue well the idea is to analyse the state of planets after imperial conquest depending on the legion that did invading
>>46179359
I think the problem was not that he rebuild what he broke, but into what he rebuild it.

It's not uncommon for you to have trouble sleeping. Often, the fault lies with your dreams – nightmares that drag you, clad in a cold sweat, back to the waking world. On some rarer occasions, though, you don't even get the chance to fall asleep in the first place. Usually, it's because you're thinking hard about something.
Like, for example, why the Mentor would lie to you about something so serious. He knows something about the cult pushing Tenngaru slowly towards the brink of war, something that he refuses to tell you. Of all people, he should be prepared to do anything to stop the cult's plans – so why conceal the truth? It's a thought that keeps churning in your mind, keeping you from any hope of a restful night.
It's not the only thing bothering you. The real problem is far simpler – the Mentor lied to you. It hurts, no less than a slap across the face would. Whatever he is keeping from you, he should have trusted you enough to share. You thought he trusted you enough to share.
Restless and discontent, you wandered the halls of the Nameless Temple for a while until you found yourself here, standing outside Howa's room with a jug of wine – to buy her hospitality – held out before you like an offering.
>>46177978
“You know,” Howa remarks once you've explained the situation to her, “This isn't the first time he's lied in order to protect you. There was that whole...”
The human sacrifice thing, you finish for her, you remember. That was different – he kept the truth from you, yes, but he didn't specifically lie about it. Worse, this is an ongoing, important issue that he's lying about. If he has some secret knowledge about the cult's motivations or intentions, you need to know that. Keeping it to himself will only help them – and you can't bring yourself to believe that the Mentor would be willing to aid them.
“No, of course not,” Howa agrees quickly, “He's desperate to keep the peace, to bring the two sides in this growing struggle together. He wouldn't... couldn't be one of the ones trying to stir up trouble.”
So, you ask after a silence, what does she think about it?
“He was willing to tell you about this... lens,” Howa points out, “Maybe he wants you to make up your own mind? It could be that he doesn't trust himself to give you an unbiased view. If he wanted to bury the matter completely, he could have just lied about the lens and told you that it was worthless.” Sighing softly, she fills both your glasses up once more and leans back in her chair, the thin robe she wears slipping down to reveal a pale crescent of flesh at her shoulder. “I can't fault you for this, Ira, but I think things are getting to you. All this scheming and plotting... remember when we used to do honest work?”
Things were a lot more simple, you agree, when you were younger. Even the dangerous times were more straightforward.
“The Mentor, though...” Howa dips her finger in her glass of wine and runs it around the rim, “It's not like we've got a better choice though, is it?”
>You're right there
>I don't know. The Emperor, maybe?

How much worldbuilding is too much?
>>46177653
There isn't too much. But, accept that your players won't know a major part of it
>>46177653
When it stops being fun for you.
>>46177653
Build as much as you need. Unless you're literally playing with touhoufag your average player is in it for the experience, not your setting consistency.
What do you think of the true neutral alignment?
I don't know, but my gut says 'maybe'.
I prefer Unaligned.
>>46177448
Currently playing a true neutral necromancer because I didn't feel like being evil.
Also Smug Emiya is literally me: intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor
How would you stat a quasar?
How would you stat a black hole?
>>46176552
You don't. They're entities, not creatures. It's like trying to stat a cactus or a house or Earth; pointless.

Best howling mine effect they've printed?
>>46174874
Wellll
It's okay I guess
Prolly not as good as howling mine itself
The decks that want howling mine care more about the mana cost than the chance to ping your opponent
>>46174894
it's not supposed to be howling mine
it's supposed to be howling mine AND owl, together
i could see a cheapo UR tempo deck coming together around this, with the madness unsummon and other tricky tricks
It seems ok, big things are that it gives you the card almost straight away, and the opponent can't use their one for a whole round unless they both leave mana open and draw an instant.
Also offers some damage against slow decks but is pretty much just as awful against an aggresive deck as this effect usually it seems, it's alright, more playable than the effect usually is.
>>46174971
I'd agree with this, the card, if it did see play would probably be in something like that, by the time the opponent is actually drawing cards off it and using them it's ideally dealt 4 damage and drawn you 2 cards. Still probably not good enough, but interesting to see how small tweaks make it such a different card.
I am planning to write a medieval fantasy book,
and i need some tips on how to not fuck it up and
are tolkien-inspired orcs overused?
I like the idea of a destructive horde in wich no two
creatures look the same
Why even use orcs at all?
>>46174560
They would not be directly orcs, more like an alliance
of evil creatures, exiled men and wild tribes,
but they would act like a band of orcs
>>46174598
No, they would act like a marauder horde. There is nothing new about orc society beyond that.

Was there a thin line between science and magic historically?
Pic related, this fucker singlehandedly invented calculus and yet considered his "research" in alchemy/prophecy/supernatural math to be his most important work
>>46173686
Prior to the industrial era? Yes. There was also a thin line between science and religion
>>46173713
Same fagging myself because I just remembered, in fact pseudo-science and magic science lasted well into the 19th century, especially due to the occultist movement. Harry Houdini was a famous skeptic who went around exposing sham pyschics and mediums and shit as a personal quest.
>>46173713
>There was also a thin line between science and religion
I found the correspondence between Galileo and his daughter made a fascinating read on that matter.
Or the problems of Leibnitz trying to reconcile his research and his faith.

“Chikashi, what the hell are you doing here?” You exclaim.
He laughs, bitter and cold. “I don’t know. I really don’t know. I supposed to be asleep in bed, but now I’m here. Man, this place sucks. It’s a total dump. Not even my apartment was as bad as this.”
“What are you talking about?” You ask, now even more perplexed. “Hey, are you even listening.”
“Takashi, do you live here? Ha, what am I saying? Of course you don’t. There’s no way someone like you would live in this empty city. It’s not fit for someone like you…”
“Hey, isn’t this the guy Takashi rescued from those delinquents?” Celeste says to Akikazu.
“That ungrateful son of a bitch? Fuck, I’ve already forgot his name.” Akikazu whispers back, glaring at the boy in front of you.
“The more pertinent question is why he exists her in the first place. We haven’t received any notice of a new Player entering, nor of a new Sector being unlocked.” Fumika states, pointing her pistol at Chikashi.
“Hey Takashi, are those your friends?” Chikashi interrupts, laughing again. “Man, they’re rude. They seem like good friends though. They’re strong Persona-users like you, right? You probably fight together as a team in the arena. Its lot of fun, isn’t it?”
“I’ve only fought once in a duel before. Also, could you calm down and tell me what the hell is going on?”
This only bolsters his good humor. Chikashi tips his head back and howls. He screeches and he chortles. His shrill voice echoes through the entire city, bouncing around the skyscrapers, tunnelling down passages, slamming against brick walls. It never seems to end; his breath is endless. You and your fellow Players can only watch as the madness unfolds itself in front of you like a complex piece of origami. You, gaping at him. Celeste, unable to say anything in shock. Akikazu, scowling. Fumika, neutral as ever.
Chikashi then yanks his head back, his eyes streaked with blood. When did they become like that? Tears have gathered from his sheer mirth.
“Did you know, Takashi? When I was a kid, I wanted to become a pro Persona duelist. I used to fantasize about what Persona I would get when I grew up. I wanted something cool like the heroes Take-Minakata or Okuninushi. I would watch all the matches and ask my mom to record the ones that played at night. Boy, I was a stupid little shit back then. I didn’t have the potential, so I was doomed to waste as an ordinary forever. Guess fate always meant me to be a failure.”
He takes a shuddering step forward. You take one back. “You? You’re different. I thought we were the same, but in the end you turned out to be blessed. Doesn’t it feel good, you and your friends? You’re strong. You’re smart. You’re not like me. You can do everything I can’t. You can become a dueling superstar, or the owner of a small megacorp. I’m really jealous of you, man!”
>“I don’t get what you’re saying.”
>“You’re crazy.”

You've committed an evil act. The only consequence is that one of your most trusted servants is very disappointed in you.
Was it worth it?

Oh God, no. He's dangerous. Off to the bedroom to quell that anger.
nope. not at all worth it I will probably get poisond in a few weeks

Well fa/tg/uys I survived a 60 mph collision today and I'm stuck in bed for awhile. Lucky to be alive, decided id commit sometime to a modern elf deck. can someone help by elaborating on not only what beck elves are but what cards it runs? I have babies first elves (immaculate magister/joraga warcaller and imperious prefect along with a couple of others) anything you all can recommend me is appreciated.
