I mean, I didn't particularly even mind that they wanted to nickel and dime people for the other factions.
I thought; "Okay, that's just the way games are these days."
But what really pisses me off to the extent of personally boycotting SEGA is the way that they ALSO pull so many features out of the game.
You can't reconquer the Empire of Mourkain as a vampire because a vampiric empire in the Badlands "Wouldn't make sense due to lore lol".
Orcs can't conquer settlements in the empire and live there I guess "Because why would they make use of buildings humans made?"
There's no family trees, siege battles have reduced depth, and you can only play the flagship faction of each race.
Just makes me so furious because this could have been a beautiful game, but they crippled it even before their first release.

What the fuck?
Non-issue that didn't require a thread to be made.

That's... uncharacteristically aggressive for MaRo. Especially since the question wasn't particularly disrespectful, and could very possibly have been someone who actually likes the way the story has been going, and maybe just wanted to be clever.

Posting this list once more. Looking for advice on making this deck list more cutthroat. The idea is to have a B/W control deck capable of forcing the game into a state of advantage for itself over time.

Pretty sure the OP would win every time. Indestructible is pretty good.
How do you make a horror campaign that actually scares your players?
Add Skeletons. ALL OF THEM
1.you must be a good story teller
2.learn what's spooky, play an appropriate system. If it devolves into grid based combat for an hour it will be the opposite of spooky.
3.95% of horror is build up
I've scared my players before. What you need to realize is that a horror campaign is like a horror story, you need to narrate as if you're telling a horror story, and structure it like a good horror story, with slow build up, mystery, intrigue, tension, and finally BIG BOOMING HORRORS.
The more you can get them roleplaying and in their character's shoes, the more scared you can make them.
Why is Slivers making a comeback?
Why do people still use Bogles?
Why do people use Burn decks when it's matchups can be unwinnable?
Did you know that MBC players like sniffing paint?
>Why is Slivers making a comeback?
Decks that handle it well aren't significant in the current meta.
>Why do people still use Bogles?
No, but we still act like it's relevant.
>Why do people use Burn decks when it's matchups can be unwinnable?
Same reason people use burn decks in any format.

I'll start: the world was originally shaped by five sages, one of earth, one of water, one of fire, one of wood and one of metal.

Fine, I'll take the bait.
This world's magic system runs on alchemy.
There is a small faction that abhors magic and all it stands for and prefers instead to focus on clockwork machinery and augmentation. They will occasionally attack buildings of magical import, such as schools, libraries or places of worship and are considered terrorists.

So which of these do we breath seeing as how we don't have any fucking oxygen/air.?
The newly united people of the Colony and the Plainsrunners look up in awe as the shadow of the New Necrotic Fleets first Flagship passes over and swallows the town in temporary twilight. High above in the upper atmosphere the colossal craft drifts as you glide through it's wide halls. Catwalks and balconies of bone and pitted metal surround you, braziers of glowing crystal or torches of voidflame illuminating your path.
The core of the massive craft sleeps and dreams in silence, the hallways an airless void. Kyn'tk twists in on hand and you gaze at the insectoid visage of the Mask held in your other. The wood remains still as you will it speak or shift, commanding it to open another tear in space, but it remains to all appearances an intricately carved but mundane mask. The urge to wear it fills you, as it had several times before and you almost give in until you suddenly find yourself floating into the heart of the flagship.
A cage of reinforced bone and metal guards the complex reactor and artificial brain of the flagship, the hefty construct requiring more than a simple cluster of Think Tanks to operate. A hexagonal portal set in its side ripples softly with suspended necrotic fluid. Kyn'tk shifts in your grasp as your reach out to touch the center of the vertical pool with the spearpoint.
There was silence then a bubbling as the liquid began to boil, power taken from your own being igniting the dormant reactor and awakening the sleeping mind of the ship. The core rumbles too life and you feel the flagship lurch around you as systems come on line. The proto-mind of the flagship reaches out for yours and you embrace it, welcoming it to the universe.
The Charnel Vault takes its place at the center of your fleets and you take your place at it's helm. The command bridge was a large throne room, scores of Pilots and Think Tanks lining the walls as you take your place on your throne.
The Lich-Lord sits on his Throne and the Galaxy shudders with unrealized terror.

Post Deks, Critique Deks, talk about the meta
I know that in Magic terms it's just Force Spike, but aggro is so prevalent in this game right now that this card blows people out so hard while costing so little mana that you can still sort of develop your own board behind it. Turn 2 Gretel with this in hand is so damn GOOD.

I love it in my 37 spell Vlad
Finally got my Sylvia today, and I just realized my deck would probably work better with Blazer instead. In reality, it would probably be improved more by switching to R/R, but few decks can't say that.
What is Bug World? It is a setting where mammals are almost unheard of and insects rule the world. It is a place of cities built from hollow logs, Termite megolopoli, and dangerous monsters that stalk the lands.
Last thread had some pretty good discussion on magic, Termite society, and some good talk about Cordeceps.

So have we basically decided that Ants are kinda communist, while Termites are more caste based?
Also, while we have the basic culture, I think we need some sort of historical figure for each of the races. Maybe some not!Marxist for the ants?

Question of the thread:
>Why have so many OSR games not deviated from the Fighter/Mage/Thief/Cleric/Elf/Dwarf/Halfling classes?
>>46221968
Probably because those were included in the editions they enjoyed and played in the past. Personally I wish people would put more options in their games or change up certain classes, there's enough OSR games that mimic the older setup that I'd think killing a few sacred cows for your own game would be perfectly acceptable.
Hell, let's make the Fighter the most complex class and the Magic-User the most simple class to play mechanically. Why not?
>>46222643
>wizard can magically add bonuses or penalties to d20 rolls
>the strength and frequency with which he does so increases every level
That'd be pretty simple.
>>46222643
>>46222689
Personally, I just like having races as classes. It's fun.
But I also hate, hate how the thief works. He's shite. Low levels his abilities might as well not exist, high levels you can just stop giving a fuck about being clever about traps forever because he can just magically get rid of them no problem. I'm not a fan of magic users being glorified peasants at level 1 either. It's like a tax on fun. "oh you wanna have glorious god like powers in the future? Well pay your "no-fun" tax at level 1 and 2.
It may make me a heathen, but I liked the concept of wizards having some weak at-will spells that they got in 4e.
Most of my basic D&D games have a party consisting of fighters, dwarves, elves, halflings, and clerics. No one wants to be a MU or a thief. Not at level 1.

They put a dybuk in a car (a dybuk is a lesser daemonhost, for anyone who hasn't read Disciples of the Dark Gods from DH1e), while it was locked up in a warded cage, and then set the car on fire, stuck a cinderblock on the gas pedal, and threw it at a gang boss.
They got away with it.
Gonna be playing my first Psyker character, what are your tips.
>>46216898
1. DO NOT FLAUNT YOUR POWERS IN PUBLIC. Unless you really feel like rolling up a new character.
2. Psykers aren't like wizards in other settings. Your first answer to a problem should never start with the words "I cast", "I invoke" or "I focus X power." Always solve problems the mundane way first, the less you have to roll Psychic Phenomena or Perils, the better. If shit starts going south, or if there's clearly a problem only Psykers could solve, go ahead, BUT KEEP IT AT FETTERED.
3. Every character you meet that knows what you are, that isn't a heretic, will hate you. Every character, including heretics, will fear you. Feel free to use that in interrogations. Pull some Voice of the Legion shit, make them piss themselves.
4. Be able to use a weapon more powerful than a Stub automatic or a Staff. Make yourself useful while you AREN'T using your powers.
5. Corollary to the above, learn a skill that isn't Lore, Weapons, or Psyker related. You'll be in the back ranks a lot, so maybe go for Medicae as a backup if the Chiurgeon goes down.
6. Try to avoid Bolter Bitches, and the Ecclesiarchy as a whole. Alternatively, make REALLY GOOD FRIENDS with the local Ecclesiarchy, it may save you a few angry mobs later.
Miss anything?
