I probably didn't wait more than a couple of minutes, but judging by the sweat collecting on my brow it would have been hours. I've never seen - well, heard - Mistress be this upset with me! And I didn't even mean to cause trouble, I was just trying to help!

The crashing bang of a door being slammed shut finally signals the end of my solitude as Mistress stomps down the stairs. As she does so, I find all my fears of what she is going to say to me vanish; her face has already said everything. It is not a face of anger, no, but one of sheer and utter disappointment.

Her stare weighs down on me like an entire pack full of Papa's tools and I feel myself curl up, lowering my eyes to avoid seeing her gaze again.

"Now." Her voice seems to instantaneously cut all other noises out of the world, as if even the air didn't dare to be present for this, leaving me feeling ever more alone and vulnerable.

"Really?" Patty turned to you, breaking out a small smile. "Good work, Ace... and thanks."

Agreed, I'm definitely going to try it out for this thread, and ask people what they think of it after. One of my biggest issues is how things are becoming slower and number-crunchier the more new moves are unlocked, so removing that aspect and having all moves the player uses context-sensitive as it were would likely help make the whole process smoother.

It's a lot fucking worse than Vial because you HAVE to but a counter on it. You can't just tick it up to 1 or 2 and leave it. Needing to ramp up to 1-whatever cmc spells and taking a turn to remove any counters is really bad.
