If you were given the powers, talents and skills of the last character you played at the cost of becoming that character permanently, would you do it? Why, or why not? How would you actually handle it in practice?
For the memory/personality death types, assume that neither memory or personality change, and that any skills or knowledges gained are in addition to the ones you already have.
You gain all gear that's defining to the character (for example cybernetics for a street samurai), but not the odds and ends that your character might have picked up over time. You have to deal with the consensus of the normal world, but on the flipside only a few hundred other people all over the world are assumed to have undergone the same process (and they're almost all as one 1e Sabbat players or magical-realm players). Powers that govern universal concepts or otherwise give you godlike powers become more limited in scope (you won't be able to do much more than subjugate a small country at first at the very most), but not everyone is of the same power level.
Hard mode: You also acquire the character's personality.
Pic carried over from the last thread because there's literally not a grain of potential magical realm factor in it.
>>46538584
Hard mode: definetly not death of personality is death.
Otherwise yeah I think I could handle becoming a young halfling in exchange for arcane might borne of the primal chaos of the universe.
>>46538631
Just to taunt you: Would you rather have all your memories intact, including those of your old personality (which would make you capable of acting like it) while having your personality changed drastically, or would you rather have someone blow your brains out with a shotgun?
>>46538584
Do i want to become a grumpy, yet respected, almost two meters tall half-elf who can lift a car, run like the wind, knows alchemy, engineering, weapon smithing, geography (in caves mostly) and mercantilism like they're written on his eye lids and knows how to flail around with sticks like he was born with one in hand? Hell the fuck yeah.

>Which rules should I follow?
If you don't already have some homebrew version with friends, follow the MTGO card pool and banlist (and please spread this to your friends that start playing with you). Currently the only place Pauper is officially supported by Wizards is online, and they have a card pool and banlist, therefore that is the format we should be using offline on paper as well, since decks and cards can transfer to games between each other with no confusion.
>WAHHH THATS TO HARD WHERE...

The bottom left has a box, select MTGO Pauper, all cards in the card pool and banlist are taken into account.
>What deck should I use?
Ask in the thread!
>Is MTGO worth it?
If you have no local paper competition, but want to play a vast amount of Pauper, it can't be beat, even if it is a clunky GUI, you learn quickly.
Some good decks for newbies include but are not limited to:
>Burn
>Elves
>Goblins
>Stompy
>Slivers
>Affinity
>Mono U control
>UB Teachings
>>46538308
>Is MTGO worth it?
How much should I sink into this if I want to build two or three Pauper decks? I have never played MTGO
>>46538368
2-3 decks, about 100 bux
unless each deck is quite similar/ in the same colors
>>46538570
I guess I'll stick to Magic Duels and paper pauper then. Paper is much cheaper for me as I already own half the cards
Ops and Tactics!
>What the fuck is it?
It's an RPG written by myself, a bunch of playtesters, and critiqued and ridiculed by /tg/ until it turned out to be a damn good system
>Why should I play it?
Because guns and magic and modularity and all that good shit!
>Where can I get it?
1d4 chan, or the website, www.opsandtactics.com
I changed up some stuff, I added recoil to the calibers and such now, which balances out some of the harder hitting guns and gives you more of a reason to go with something more manageable.
That's the major update.

>>46535376
I'm running a Glorantha game in MRQ, set in Northern Ralios for a little more of that that dank semi-naked torc-wearing chariot-nigger tone than Heortlings got.
Sheep theft will ensue (Warlord games 28mm sheep are cute woud that I have a camera).
Currently scratchbuilding some palisades and a celtic roundhouse from matchsticks, plasticard and flock.
Did you know that GW Beastmen were originally leftover Broo from a Rune Quest contract?
>>46535376
I never played it but I suppose that it is more useful for extroverted players. I would probably hate it.

At the moment I'm taking a bit of a break from gaming, but I do want to run another Gloranthan game, although I'm not sure where and who.
I mean, even if I want to do something with Orlanthi, there's still a bunch of options.
Well /tg/ im adapting my Star Wars: Old Republic campaign (pre KOTOR, actually) to Burning Wheel system with help of the Mouseguard system simplification and i need some help with things like the equipment, traits and obviously Force/darkside points so they are fueled by Instinct and Belief.
But the first thing i need, is a magic system that could work as the Force, is there some supplement with alternative magic systems where i could find something like this?.
Help me /tg/ you are my last hope.
Why don't you just go with the system that the KOTOR systems ran on? D&D 3.5 IIRC.
>>46534527
I did a Old Republic campaign that was set in the Great Sith War of Exar Kun; He was the BBEG of the whole story. Last about two and a half years. The players eventually took sides against each other in the conflict. One player ended up being the Jedi Force Commander on Coruscant and lead the defense of the planet against the combined Krath and Mandalorian fleets. Another became a Sith Lord under Exar Kun and rivaled Ulic Qel Droma. The Krath Queen NPC and Exar Kun tricked him into unleashing an ancient Sith superweapon that accidentally an entire star cluster.

Right? There was a sourcebook for Saga and everything. In fact, that's probably the strongest argument you could make for Saga.

I'm going to play a Human Sorcerer in 4E D&D I was wondering if Spells and At Wills are the same. How many do I get at first level?
Pic Unrelated.
>>46527464
Read the handbook.
They are but aren't. I can't explain it better than that because it's been two+ years since I've played 4e.
>>46527464
You have powers in the following types
>At Will
Meaning, as the name implies, you can use this whenever the fuck you want, however often you want.
>Encounter
Meaning, Once per short rest, although most DMS just consider it as an assumption and it's just "once per encounter"
>Daily
Once per day.
These are "spells" but they fall into the same structure as the "powers" used by all classes in 4e.
You get 2 at wills, plus 1 extra for being a human.
>>46527464
Well that depends if you're going by the book as printed or the updated errata.
PHB 1 had humans have a 3rd at will ability instead of the normal 2.
The errata and the later Essentials handbooks had gave humans a racial encounter ability more in line with the other races.
But not when it's shoved down our throats.
Oh let's have two women face off. Oh let's put them in the feature match. Oh lets have a female judge there to.
Sickens me.

Seriously though, goblins is everything wrong with people who still play 3.pf
This smartass son of a bitch was insane enough to give the crazy navigator PC (which had JUST replaced his previous dark eldar character) a halo device. He has a stronk lidless stare and insanity in the high 30's right off the bat.
What a fucking faggot.
That... is so stupid.
First of all, nobody should play a Navigator in Rogue Trader, since it's basically the most important role on the ship, and one bad roll can fuck up everyone, so it's best left to an npc Navigator who probably starts with better stats than a PC.
Second, I wouldn't let anyone but the most mature of players who really get into the lore surrounding Dark Eldar actually play one. It's a career and race most people would only pick to have an excuse to justify their LOLRandom Chaotic Evil actions.
Third... a fucking Halo artefact?! Is he insane?! I was a novice GM when I ran my first campaign of Rogue Trader, and even I wasn't daft enough to give one of the players a fucking Halo artefact. That's like playing Pathfinder and giving a 1st level PC a Deck-of-many-things.
In short... your GM is an idiot.
>>46558893
Wow, running Rogue Trader. Yeah, your GM sounds like an asshole all right.
Tell me about your party's sleeping arrangement when you're not in town /tg/. Do you just all sleep in bedrolls out in the open or do you have something more comfy?
>>46557899
>Do you just all sleep in bedrolls out in the open
Not "out in the open" but yeah, pretty much. Though usually finding some kind of shelter, such as an abandoned building, is pretty easy. It's a post-apocalypse non-magical campaign.
>>46557899
If someone has Survival skills of some kind, usually some sort of quickie shelter if possible. Even a small cave or alcove or something is preferable, but yeah, beyond that, just bedrolls.

You hurry back to the Drum's storeroom and find yourself face to face with Captain Angua.
Behind her, Ozzy is being interviewed by Captain Carrot in Dwarvish.
"We told you to go did we not?"
"You did?"
"I did."
"Ah. Well I did go, but I came back. There's nothing wrong in that is there?"
"There is if you're sneaking back into a crimescene."
She pulls out a pair of menacles and advances on you.
"You don't have the right to remain silent, but I still recommend that you do."
>And now
Ah Jail. You've been in jail before. Short stints for things like accidentally blowing up your downstair neighbors' kitchen (2 days, until you arranged payment) and burning off the hair of all the cats on your street (noone complained about the naked cats, it was the smell that got you in trouble).
But now, interfering with a crime scene, now this just may land you in the Tanty, and you don't want that. No you don't.
