So I just came back from my weekly game of FATAL.
Some goody-two-shoes told me that it was a terrible system and he hopes we stop playing because of how broken it is.
This Guys, am I right?

Yes, but they ask the horsemen if they want to do it.
The funniest thing is hearing the DKs be self righteous about the scarlet crusade.

>Yes, but they ask the horsemen if they want to do it.
After raising them. They look like they're already undead at that point.
But yes, the thing with the Scarlet Crusade is objectively hilarious.

===============
You are Prince Meirion auk Gwyrren, the only sane man in a royal family with dubious concepts of strategy, justice, taxation, and governance in general. You have made it your goal in life to keep your family on the throne and your head firmly attached to your body.
You've recently managed to thwart a raid on the northern territories of your native Kingdom of Gwyrddarfordir. Seren auk Caunys, who made you aware of the problem in the first place, stayed behind in her family's territory to keep an eye on the situation and stabilize things as necessary, while you returned to your father's palace in Aurwain. Accompanying you is Reagan mac Connaught, the princess and legitimate heir of the Kingdom of Olstren.
So far, you've kept Reagan's presence quiet. You've only just arrived and provided her with a guest room not too far from your own chambers. As far as most of the palace is concerned, you just returned from a perfectly normal leisure trip and you happened to meet an acquaintance along the way.
"I hope you enjoy your time here," you say. "Let me know if there's anything wrong with the room."
"It's quite lovely," Reagan says. "It feels more open than my room in Olaim."
Most of the windows are made of cut glass and the doors lead to a balcony similar to yours.
"I'm told it's a Parlan design," you say. "They like to keep the wind flowing through their buildings. It's quite impressive how they deal with sandstorms."
"I'd like to go there some day," Reagan says. "For a long time, I thought I'd never get the opportunity. For now, however, I would prefer to spend my free time with you."
>"I suppose I should introduce you to the king."
>"We could go for a walk around the city if you're up for it."
>>46696805
>>"We could go for a walk around the city if you're up for it."
Once my family knows I'm back I'm going to have to put things back into order immediately
>>46696805
>"We could go for a walk around the city if you're up for it."
Tell our family we are back and have someone follow us and keep watch while we walk with her.

If alignments were never a part of D&D would the greater RPG community be better? Throughout the years and today?
>>46696787
If that were the case, all D&D community would have left are edition wars and rules lawyering. It's all the same trash but at least present situation has slightly more variety.
If we'd settled on
>Law
>Neutrality
>Chaos
then the world would be a better place.
The biggest irony is that 4E took a step back in the RIGHT direction, yet everyone complained.
>>46696787
In what way? I don't quite understand how a lack of alignments would prevent rules lawyering, that guy'ism, or the general inability to have calm rational discussion that seems to plague nerd groups.

LAST TIME: We confronted Paragon Supreme in hopes of getting his support. Instead, we found out the plan has his begrudging support as a safety measure. After a heated argument, we were consumed by rage and engaged in a duel with our rival, Ivory Moon, who finally revealed himself as another Avatar--the Tiger of Progress.
(The last thread had a fuckup--Nature is NOT his domain.)
---
Wiping your chin, you spit crimson onto the sidewalk and get onto your feet. Your swollen right eye gives you a skewed view of the world, but even you can see clear as day the streaking lines now burning a clear blue through Ivory's costume.
"All this time, I figure it must be someone halfway across the world..." You start, stepping towards him, "that another Avatar would live. But right here, in Arcadia..."
Ivory raises a palm before his visor, as a ghostly fire swirls around his palm. "The Tiger has given me visions of someone in this very city who could satiate me. It's in the nature of the Tiger to hunt, to scrap, to fight just to prove dominance! The Phoenix is a false symbol, the Dragon a naive optimist, and the Tortoise a scared old man!"
He throws his fist back behind him, with a rippling blowback firing through the park just behind him. Trees are uprooted, flying down the street and crushing parked cars and slamming into brick buildings, the corners chipping from the might.
"It is the Tiger who exerts the right to inherit the Earth!"
You raise your leg skyward before slamming into in the ground before you, a geyser of fire erupting in your wake.
"If the Tiger is a king, consider me the coup! Face me, arrogant Avatar of Nature, and learn some humility!"

Friendly reminder that this man, who is internationally considered a hero, is singlehandedly responsible for the Galipoli disaster that killed over 200,000 men despite knowing fully well that it could never turn out succesful due to there being less men available than was initially projected for a succesful operation because he didn't like the BEF getting all the glory while the navy was left behind, and all he got for it was a demotion that did not matter in the grand scheme of things.
Friendly reminder that this same man promoted total war against the Soviet Union before WW2 had even fully ended.
Friendly reminder that there are streets and squares dedicated to this man all over Europe. He truly was correct: he is remembered a hero by history because he wrote it, nothing more.

And thank god he didn't or Eastern Europe would have become a socialist hellhole post war. I'm glad we avoided that

I haven't yet found the actual rules, but I did find this:
>Syndicates can control "chipheads" with "mind control chips" which they use to turn them into their hired muscle. These types of chips are controlled via the Matrix using Deckers an example is when the Yakuza Gang captured Gino and made him one of their Clockers. "Mind Contol Chips" like most illegal Simsense can be deactivated if the operator is away from the terminal or is incapacitated which will stun them.
>>46694073
There's more stuff on Simsense-related things in the Shadowbeat book, as I recall it.

CYBERMUSIC EDITION!
In some german book "Turbo Lover" by Judas Priest is described as the only true rigger anthem.
Hit me with what you think are the anthems for the archetypes!
/tg/, how do I make a paladin interesting? I love the concept, I love playing them, but they all feel so boring and same-y to me.
I was thinking of playing one similar to like a shiny new police officer that hasn't had his worldview tested yet, but that also sounds lame.
What are your suggestions?
>>46693843
I was also considering maybe having him/her (I'm undecided on male/female ight now, if you have an idea dependent on character gender) be really close to the party rogue through childhood, but recently the rogue is beginning to pass of some of his bad habits on the naive paladin.
>>46693843
Can you mixed classes together? Like a paladin-rogue?
>>46694165
Not in our setting, no. Other classes can multi, but you're either all paladin or no paladin.
If so many profane rituals require the sacrifice of a virgin, why aren't male virgins uses? Female knights are incredibly rare so you're less likely to be interrupted by some goody two-shoes adventurers. That and most people simply tend to care less when men are in danger.
>>46693719
God wants a pretty girl, not some NEET.
>>46693719
If I was an evil god and some bunch of cultists tried to sacrifice a sweaty aging neckbeard to me just because technically he was a virgin, I'd smite those ruleslawyering little shits on the spot.
Last thing I want is for all the other gods to find out I accept such low quality blood sacrifices. I'd be a laughing stock.
>>46693882
If blood from any source is good enough for Khorne, it's good enough for you, faggot.

“Nyeeeaaahh…” Winona carefully applies her make up for the day, along with the other girls as well. You look around as well to see Stack, Ingrid, and Josephina busy in applying their makeup, Ingrid gently rubbing lipstick on her lips, Stack running some powder on her cheeks, and Josephina carefully applying eyeliner.
You though?
You don’t really need makeup, all you need to do is wash your face every day with soap and water and keep yourself mellow. You splash your face, then pick up your towel and start rubbing your face dry.
But as you do that, Winona picks up your glasses, then puts them on. “Wow. Not much difference.” Truth be told, she kind of looks cute with them on, but you’re not going to admit that.
“It used to be a lot worse but my eyes corrected over time,” you explain.
She snaps her fingers, then jabs her finger on her forehead and prattles off, “The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the remaining side!”
A girl in one of the nearby baths yells, “That’s a right triangle, you idiot!”
“Pfft.” Winona rolls her eyes, handing your glasses back to you. “I know that. I was just pretending to be stupid.” Really. Could’ve fooled you. She picks up her stuff and smiles at you. “Later, Marsh-Elo.” You roll your eyes back at her as she leaves. Damn it, Winona, nicknames are not conductive to your image. You’re going to have to explain that when you meet up again for practice today.
Regardless, you pick up your Officer’s Pad. Time to see what’s what.

What is your favourite fantasy setting?
What is your least favourite fantasy setting?
Favourite is my own homebrew heartbreaker setting. Second-favourite is Warhammer Fantasy (pre-EndTimes version, like in WFRP). Grim and gritty fantasy mixed with Lovecraftesque magic and villains is great!
Least favourite is Eberron. They tried for the "pulp" style, but it came out forced, lame and not much like pulp fiction at all. That's out of game settings, though: novel settings are sometimes pretty bad and meant to be ignored, like in Dresden Files or Harry Potter.
>>46692768
>What is your least favourite fantasy setting?
Dragon Lance
>>46692768
Ignoring homebrew settings
Favorite: Thief's setting, excluding Thief 4. It is limited in scope but perfectly suited for it's job.
Least Favorite: So many candidates. Zelda perhaps.
