Post stories about ridiculous matches you've had. Bonus points if the opponent really got under your skin.
>be me, blue tron player
>be playing modern fnm a week after m15 released.
>get paired up with some dude who looked like he was in his early 30s, rolls out his mlp play mat, and his pony themed box/sleeves/dicebag etc.
>cringe a small amount, then procede to unpack my stuff and greet him.
>he looks at me and bellows "HEWOH" and shakes my hand like a dog ripping apart meat.
>i can smell his breath from across the table, he must've had tuna for lunch.
>we start playing the game, he's playing horse tribal in all colors. Though there are foil fetches and shocklands hitting the field on his side.
>beat his horses to death with wurmcoil, gg.
>he's an obvious tard confirm at this point.
>let him win next two matches, do not want to invoke tard rage.
This is the exciting part.
>round two, sitting next to ponytater.
>my opponent was a Ux cheap infect, but taterboy was up against grixis delver.
>delverguy is not as nice as I am, delverguy takes the easy pickings.
>delverguy is a smug shitlord, and says something like "sucks to suck" to ponytater
>delverguy shoundn't have did that.
>taterboy has unlocked his inner tard strength, and become taterman.
>he gets up and flings his chair at delverguy, misses, and takes down a pathfinder display.
>gets pissed becausehl he missed so flips the table on delver guy, causing a bruised collar bone and a big card/dice mixup.
>runs out of the store crying and screaming.
>later while my opponent and i were cleaning up the mess, and delver guy was talking to the store owner and a cop, taterman shows up with his mother to appologize.
>store owner was chill af, only asked to be paid for the pathfinder shit that got impaled by a chair leg, didn't ban the guy or anything.
>store owner told delverguy to stop being a dickish shitlord or he would be banned.
It was an interesting night.

That card would make so much more sense in red, both in terms of flavor and ability.

>Be casual scum noob who wants to get into modern. Played maybe 2 games my whole life
>Make colorless tron deck centered on Platinum Angel shenanigans. Rule was it had to be 100% colorless
>Douchebag I've known awhile taught me the ropes. Overall a giant autist who thinks he is mlg pro.
>Ask to play against his bestest best deck which at the time I thought was awesome (R/B Vampires)
>Fucking stomp him with platinum angel (lightning greaves/darksteel shit) and All is Dust shenanigans
>Becomes whiny and autistic. "platinum angel is broken hurrr"
>Learning he is a giant faggot, make new deck: WGB token/doubling season/corpse jack casual funsies deck.
>He netdecks some shitty R/B splintertwin faggotry
>I still win.
>Begins to rage that I cheat and shit
>Learn that he is a sperglord stereotype 'l33t g@m3r'
>Proceed to whoop him at boardgames and other lesser cardgames too
>Attempts to badmouth me to our friends
>They choose me over him
>Married some hyper-feminist who is a foot taller than him and has a bigger dick
>Still love Platinum Angel.
I don't particularly have a specific story, but I have a friend who tends to get pretty That Guy when we all play together.
Hates it when people try to get others to cooperate with them towards something, but is always trying to do so.
Hates it when others try to manipulate other players into some specific action, but is always there to coach others on what they should do.
Hates being targeted for any reason but will always beeline straight for me in any multiplayer match.
Plays a Sliver EDH deck and gets super butthurt about mass removal.
Will use an old card without checking it out on Gatherer to see its updated wording but when told it doesn't work like he thinks it does will immediately get all defensive and swear he looked it up.
Actually, that one has a story to it, but it's not very entertaining. The short version is that he got defensive and insisted he looked it up and he was right. I pulled the card up on Gatherer and the first entry in the Rulings section proved him wrong.
When I answer a rules question that works out for him, he accepts my word as fact. When it's unfavorable for him, he wants some evidence from Gatherer or the Comp Rules.

>Married some hyper-feminist who is a foot taller than him
You say that like there's something wrong with tall girls.
Hey, fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls, I'm curious about something. If I was to add in a not!Japan into my setting, and I did not want them to be human, what race should I make them? Elves, aasimar, dragonkin, lizardfolk, or what? I don't mean to be racist or anything, I'm just curious how you would approach this if you were in my shoes.
I'll post samurai and oriental warriors types in exchange. I'll also take requests for anything Asian oriented.
What is the best 40k faction, and why is it the Imperial Guard?Imperial Guard thread, post Guard and Guard stories.
Because the guard represents the plight of the common man who has all odds stacked against him
>>46742121
muh underdog
My apologies if this question has been asked one thousand times, but how do I get into /tg/ if I have no friends?
>>46740985
You make new friends through the game itself and how it draws people together; simple, right?
Now the bigger problem is what to do when you develop a love of the game but slowly realize the hobby's full of THAT GUYs you don't want to waste your precious time on.
>>46740985
Get friends.
Go to LGS (local game store) if you have one and see what the community is like, maybe play some intro games, and get some people to play with.
If not, try Roll20 and find a game to play.
You go and make some friends. Its not so hard.
Talk to your co-workers at lunchtime once in a while. Join a church. Volunteer. Take a karate class. There are lots of ways to make friends.
Is this the right board to talk about Mahjong?
>>46740555
Yes but nobody will respond.
/jp/ has mahjong threads as far as i know
>>46741509
Why not? Does /tg/ hate Mahjong?
Could something like this be used for traditional gaming?
>>46739039
>we yugioh now
>>46739039
Where are you gaming? The subway? We have tables for this stuff.
Is neat tho.
>>46739053
That was my first thought too.
So, Dragon Rampant.
Saw it at my LGS and was curious about it.
So what does /tg/ think of this game?
>>46738445
So...
No input?
none at all?
>>46739972
Your thread is the first I've heard of it. Not sure what to make of it, but I know Osprey also makes Frostgrave, so wargaming rules from them might be neat.
Damn, I didn't even know Osprey made wargames.
Is there a mecha tabletop system that's good for running a game with both Gundams and Evangelions?
>>46737961
Is that an Evangundiom?
>>46738019
Yes
>>46737961
Looks really cool, but I'm not sure how you'd go about putting Evas and Gundams in the same setting. I mean for one Evas have a power tether, so their movement would be extremely limited, plus Evas are fucking huge compared to Gundams.
Can a nigga get an uplifted animal thread?
Sci-fi preferred to fantasy but either's good. Post-apoc near-future best.
Somebody posted art from a Kickstarter about a post-apoc uplifted animals RPG the other day
I'm really kicking myself for not saving a picture.
Nevermind, found it in my history.
Apparently a supplement for MUTANT, a game I've never played.
After the Bomb RPG by Palladium Books
What sort of ruler has the least responsibility? I want to be that sort of king.
>>46737944
Constitutional monarch, I should think. Or else a monarch who just puts all the work on their subordinates.
>>46737944
>ruler
>least responsibility
>implying that great power doesn't always come with great responsibility
>>46738026
Spaniard here, can confirm, also dutch and Swedish will probably confirm that too.
The only monarch that has any relevance today is the english one.
I know that the Imperium is supposed to be the Empire in Warhammer fantasy, what would a 40k Bretonnia look like?

Do you guys even try?
Cityscape thread. share the images you have gather some you don't. does anyone have any notable homebrewed cities?
I need to be frank with you /tg/ I'm a little edgy...
I want to play 40k on the table top, but I don't want to be "just another" space marine chapter, ork tribe, craftworld or whatever.
I want to play something that is more unique yet sound rule wise and lore wise, say; green skinned Space Marines that act Orky and even have a retinue of Ork cannon fodder, Chaos Eldar that worship a god so Slaanesh won't eat there soul, or Human Fire Warriors.
What do you think is a good idea for an unusual yet agreeable army ?
Tau sometimes have humans who have defected, Chaos Space Marines are fucky, just make a chapter of your own space marines like the "Nice Marines" and use the standard Space Marine Codex
>>46736742
>Tau sometimes have humans who have defected, Chaos Space Marines are fucky, just make a chapter of your own space marines like the "Nice Marines" and use the standard Space Marine Codex
But will OP still be able to get Daemon Support then?
>>46736710
Famous ones: Red Fantasy Orks for Bloodletters, make an Ork Khorne Daemonkin army.
Grots with imperial guard guns for imperial guard (renegade grots from gorkamorka).
Imperial Guard with Tau guns for Gue'vesa Tau army. Usually you stick comlinks on their heads.
Skaven for Imperial Guard or Dark Eldar, they have a wide range of models and their abominations work for Ogryn or DE monsters.
Imperial Guard and Sisters of Battle for Necrons, using Necron guns. The Oldcrons infected mankind with the null disease, and made humans into Pariahs so they are just throwbacks.
Ork Kommandos for Tempestus Scions, whole army of sneaky Orks dropping from the sky.
Ork assassins are also popular.
Lizardmen (now Seraphon) for Nids.
Fate Core? Do you love it, do you hate it?
Why?

Is multiclassing as a wizard in 3.5 always a Bad Idea?™
Not always. There are some really good prestige classes.
>>46736095
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvmVnTQtZQY
>>46736095
Generally speaking in 3.PF you never want to combine a full caster class with anything that doesn't stack spellcasting ranks in the full caster class.
So, several prestige classes are OK but several are not and trying to multi with random other classes is almost always a bad idea because #1 top wizard power is throwing out spells, and you're losing out on that for stuff that is almost always going to be inferior to wizard spells.
