I think you should be fine. I wouldn't tell anybody that they were fakes, but I've bought some duals off of villa zheng and they are pretty good. You need to rough up the old cards a bit, and its very obvious when they are out of sleeves because they are a different texture. But I've played at my store's legacy night several times and nobody has said anything about it. Double sleeved and across the table, nobody should know. And to be honest, when you are trying to figure out the best way to win a game, are you really going to be paying attention to your opponent's cards to look for tiny differences? No. I wouldn't bring them to a big event though, since judges will most likely be able to spot them easily if you get deck checked.

I bought duals, wastelands, and zen/onslaught fetches and all were definitely passable. Go for it, there's nothing wrong with wanting to play the best format without wanting to drop thousands on cardboard.

That said, the problem is that the definition of such a vague thing as "elf" is very dependent on the context they are used in, mainly because elves don't exist and there isn't a singular entity to compare.

If you want some sort of universal definition of an "elf", it's probably "knife-eared humanoid that whose origins have some sort of connection with mystic forces".

No. They are aware that different weapons can mess you up more or less bad, that different spells and potions can fix you up partially or completely, and that different people can take a fiercer beating than others.
Hitpoints are a game mechanic, just as rolls and ability scores are. Nobody in the setting is aware that they exist, because they are all a shorthand to represent things that happen in the game world.

I could go with it for a less-than-serious game. Sort of a 4th wall breaking thing to convey that information to the players.

It would be like an in-game version of item descriptions. Like your health potion might read "heals 2d8+3 hit points", and a sword might have an inscription indicating it's a +1 to hit. But most NPCs won't cry about how they only have three hit points left.

Yes it is surprisingly paramilitary isn't up there but that is because paramilitary while offering the best protection have largely limited amount of irreplaceable gear. Which obviously means options are limited. Hence why they are not as far up as one would think!

Also take care that recruiting too much people or those who are too powerful can lead to potential unrest, possible coup, and certain morale penalties.

The penalties vary according to number and origin. Obviously recruiting people from the same type of civ as yourselves harbors the least penalties. Particularly if you originated from the same Pre Fall group makes the penalties minimal.

Samson is certainly having the loveliest time on a prison island right now, not at all paralyzed with fear over the fact that any one of his allies or loved ones could simply up and be dragged away to fight an undead soldier to the very likely death. Or the fact that his only real point of communication with his beloved Millicent or his mother, Marion, is this aggressive Edwyg woman. Not at all helped by his learning that she's in because, as she put it, "couple years after I'm outta the arena, I'm on this one island and some noble's wife gets an axe in her skull. I get thrown in here." When asked if she did it, she responds, "what's it matter to you?"

So yeah, he's just peachy!

Dyrus, meanwhile, continues his trek towards the connecting point of the Desert, Central, and Coastal regions, where he and his grandfather are set to reunite with Lady Hauteclere, Laurise, and any companions they may have recruited. From there, they reason, they will need to plan the route they'll use to cut through the deserts to the Wolfskin region...

Last and by no means least, Rene continues going on missions in the name of the Empire, attempting to sort out the unforeseen reality that is her romantic relationship, and consume a rather impressive cake prepared for the occasion of her twenty-first birthday. She recalls that her father had prepared the Brave Bow she now wields for the occasion, and can't find herself to be mad at Omar or Marduk for the day's festivities. She and her sister are, currently, none the wiser to the fate of Director Waldrick, but an urgent Director's Meeting will be called to address the situation and how to progress from here, since these rebels are only gaining more traction now.

I change my vote to this OP. I like the idea of dissolving our bodies into a swarm of small bats.

Is there any real detriment to just choosing a permanent spell list as a cleric and sticking too it? I like the options, but I don't want to have to memorize or even generally know the entire cleric list + domain spells.

Kind of. You could easily forget that, if the situation demanded it, you could swap your spells out if necessary.

I also tend to just quickly glance through the spell list at the beginning of every day to see if there's anything there that I would really want. For example, as a Druid, we were in an area that was heavily infested with creatures proven to be weak to radiant damage, so when morning came, I prepared Moonbeam.

I normally just use a sheet that gives me space for all the spells for a druid, cleric or paladin. You might be fine with the same spells all the time, but I find myself switching one or two sometimes
