Let's talk about Orks, /tg/.
If you could make a new codex for the orks, what would you change?
I would change the everloving fuck out of Mob rule, Orks aren't just overgrown Gretchins.
>>47078361
>foot sloggers that can actually slog across the board
>Elite/ HS units that aren't overcosted garbage
>cut out mob rule entirely. GW just thinks its fun to roll seven separate pools of dice to find one outcome.
>Actual looted vehicles
Some more radical ideas:
>More varied melee options. why does the definitive melee army has three melee options.
>Go back to something similar to 4th ed Mob rule where Ld= unit size but instead of basing that on the number of models in the unit, base this on the number of wounds in the unit.
>Maybe give Mob Rule some inter-unit utility? If any model in one unit of orks can draw LOS to another unit within some distance, they get an Ld buff?
>>47078509
Speaking of melee weapons, I'd cheapen the price of the Power Klaw by at LEAST 10 points, It makes no sense why orks would have to pay 25 points for a powerfist that only costs 10 points to other races.
>>47078361
Lot more variety and options to get boyz into combat quickly or to prevent the enemy from wrecking them before they get stuck in, something to pin or disrupt enemy shooting like a mega rumbler or just more armour.
What would happen if a guy who has a sword that can cut through every material fought a guy wearing indestructible armor?
One of them gets a refund
>>47077135Depends on theguy
Random coincidences would ensure the sword-guy never struck the armor-guy's armor.
Just picked up pic related today so that my girlfriend and I could have a new game to play.
Also picked up a TIE Phantom and an A-wing as well, and played a few games. It was pretty fun.
What are your thoughts on the game?
Best units to pick up?
Are huge ships fun to play with in the game or completely OP?
Anyway to avoid getting into messes where everyone keeps passing each other?
>>47075980
A-wings are a little weak once you start getting a lot of ships, because they're overcosted for what they do.
The aces (Imperial and Rebels) are good expansions to pick up. If you do that, you might want something a little heavier for the Imps though, to match the B-wing
>>47076145
Oh, and rebel aces fixes the A-wings problems.
>>47076145
>>47076156
And whatever core set you didn't get is also a solid option as an expansion, since they're priced competitively with getting three ships separately and come with more stuff.
The newer core's damage deck is slightly better as well.
Dark Souls Lore Thread: Traditional Gaming Edition.
Please feel free to discuss any theories, speculations or ask any questions you may have about any of the souls games in the trilogy.

>I'm no expert, but shouldn't this thread be on /v/?
It can, but "Lore" realistically has more applicable purpose in /tg/ than it does in /v/ concerning applying it to world building, story development or other various traditional gaming aspects.
It does if you feel inspired or motivated by the lore and story of darksouls, but it doesn't if you only appreciate it from a purely game mechanics level.
I mean, that's what I'v reasoned at least.
Does Gwyndolin have tits? Are her tentacles erogenous?
You are Sarah Winters, former police sniper. You are currently underground, after having paid the Russian mob to get access to an alternate reality, where you have probably killed two teenage girls who tried to ambush you, one of whom was a mage, while the other was wearing power armor. A third girl summoned some kind of freak death and shadow demon thing.
Said nightmare hellspawn is currently responsible for you having a bunch of bone spikes in your chest. And maybe for one of your team being all, like, whimpering and curled on the ground next to you. You're not sure what's up with that. Unless it was the whole 'I'm being shot at with a flamethrower' thing with this on top of it. Demon is pretty freaky.
>Fuck yes! You're killing a demon. Kinda. anyhow. Kira's helping. Keep shooting it; it's working.
>What the hell is Davey doing? /You/ have fucking bone spikes in you and you're doing more than he is. Did that thing kill him somehow?
>You are fucked up. Let Kira handle this for now. You're just gonna... Pass out or something. Yeah. Passing out sounds good.
>Write-in.

Stat things!
Damien 'Davey' Jones: 11/15 HP
Kira Martel: 10/15 HP
Sarah Winters: 8/15 HP, bleeding
Nightmare Hellspawn: 35/35 HP, 15/20 PP
Akane (Mage girl): ???/15 HP, ???/PP (Out of sight behind the giant-ass cloud of shadows that the demon is producing.)
Flamerobo: ???/35 HP (As Akane.)
Robo with a Shotgun: ???/35 HP (Also hidden.)

What's the best 'resolution mechanic', in your opinion?
2d6? 1d20? 1d100? Dicepools like Shadowrun? The One-Roll Engine? Or a lack of randomness entirely - using points like Golden Sky Stories, for example? Or something even more obscure?
Do you prefer systems like (for example) Unknown Armies, which outlines specifically what happens on a fumble, fail, success, matched success, etc. - or do you prefer more freeform systems, which just note the degrees of success and failure, but leave the specifics up to you?

I've always liked roll and keep personally
>>47063434
So like "roll four, keep best two"?
>>47063466
>>47063434
On the topic of roll-keep, I enjoy the "roll [skill], keep [stat]" vs. dynamic TN.
That way, skills softcap the roll, while stats hardcap the roll.
We had a thread a while ago that was for creating a table for generating a skitarii force that wasn't really finished, so lets pick up where it was left off!

You are Brianna la Croix, grateful that this town doesn't seem to have an issue with you being a necromancer, and you need coffee.
You need coffee so badly.
>>47043814
"We need a tavern," you tell Hatchet. "I need coffee before I literally die - hello officer how may I help you?"
Maybe you spoke too soon about the necromancer thing. This town guard - you'd bet cash that his greatcoat is lined with mail the way Nate's is - looks annoyed as hell.
"Miss, I'm going to need to ask that you leave your mount and its terrifying organic scythes the fuck outside of my town," he says flatly. "You're going to disturb the peace."
"I'll stay with the boar to ensure no one steals our stuff," Hatchet tells you. You sigh, dismount, and pass him the reins. Hatchet rides back out of town without a comment or backwards glance.
"Anything else?" you ask, as politely as you can.
"Don't raise the dead without written consent on the part of the formerly deceased, and I advise that you avoid the water," the guard tells you. "That last one is advice from me to you. Something grim's been haunting the fresh water."
"There's salt water?" you ask, curiously.
He gestures at the sea. "On the far side of the Bar, aye. Enjoy your stay, keep the peace."
"Wait - tavern? I need coffee."
"Try the Bulging Net, near the docks," he advises. "There's coffee in other places, but they clean the kettle."
You thank the man and trudge that direction, shaking your head to try and clear the cobwebs from it.
The Bulging Net is pleasant enough, with clean tables and a nice, comfortable air. Even better, this level of the Dungeon actually trades in coinage, letting you purchase two pots of coffee and sit down to thoroughly overdose on it. The place isn't busy at the moment, which makes it easy to overhear the few conversations going on. They all seem to be about the river; it hasn't been flowing, and everyone is relieved to see it's come back.
You smile, into your cup. It's nice to know you did some good.
>>47043936
You might as well start with the barkeeper. She - like many people you've seen here - has the olive skin and gentle features you saw in the picture of Kells' wife. There's been a scattering of others around town, including a few like you - but you're beginning to suspect that this might be where Kells met his lady love.
"Ma'am?" you ask. She offers you her attention while she cleans a glass. "I'm looking for someone, the sweetheart of a friend of mine from the Broken Jaw. He was an ice miner."
You have the room's attention. Oops.
"Have you been through the Jaw?" she asks. "What's been happening up there? We tried to send a party to check on it, but the entrance was frozen over..."

Daemon and KDK buffs in the FAQ
Just as planned
You wanna know why I hate Leman Russ?
It's not because of his boner-inducing penchant for teamkilling.
It's not because of his hypocrisy in regards to Nikea and psykers.
It's not because of his inability to back up his boastful nature (see his fights with Lion El'Jonson and Angron).
It's because immediately upon swearing fealty to the Emperor as the 2nd found primarch he had to upstage Horus and his LUNA WOLVES with his own superlative legion title.
Two "official" fucking legions in and we have the Luna Wolves and the Space Wolves.
What a fucking douchebag.

So, why haven't you rejected your humanity yet?
>>47076401
Because I'm a filthy casual
>>47076401
I don't have a good answer for that. It's not like being human is a good thing in and of itself.
Maybe it's because I want to come back from Sparking in a form that still appreciates what I have/had on Earth.
https://graphicpolicy.com/2016/04/28/is-that-tau-in-venom-space-knight-paging-gw-lawyers/
I'm guessing this is old news now, but will anything come of it?
>>47093711
They're just carrying on the proud tradition of copyright infringement associated with the Space Knight name.
>>47093711
My dick will come in your wife!...of it.
>>47093711
It's probably an homage. Fair use, I doubt GW would do anything legal about it. Especially since Marvel isn't a tiny company they can bully, its a much bigger company backed by Disney, the king of patent bullies. GW knows not not to pick fights with the 800lb gorilla.

Do you even quaff, bro?
I'm in a 5e campaign with 4 other friends currently playing a lvl 4 knowledge domain cleric. The DM messaged me asking if there were any particular type of magic item I would be interested in finding the other day. I didn't really know what to suggest so I just said any item that allows me to use my reaction for something [all I do in combat right now is heal/run for the most part]
any thoughts?
Are the chaos gods actual entities or just names for theoretical personifications of their respective domains?
>>47089243
The Chaos Gods as entities are purely theoretical it seems since the fluff likes to be vague about it.
Some bits say that they're individual entities that are strong enough to control vast portions of the Warp. Some others say that their respective daemons can theoretically take the name since they are all smaller aspects of the same thing.
Basically, no one knows if there's one Khorne or if there's a billion daemons that go by Khorne.
>>47089272
It's actually usually fairly well explained - the daemons of Chaos are usually just extensions of the Chaos Gods themselves, mininatures of their personality and power. The Chaos Gods are large bundles of powerful emotion that have become sentient. They're entities, and have gained their own personalities.
>>47089243
>>47089243
Are you retarded? They're actual entities. Khorne literally threw one of his greatest Bloodthirsters across hell until his wings ripped to shreds. Gork and Mork literally step on things when their feet are summoned.
The tau best trained fire warriors are barely equal to your standard trained guard edition.
