The Great War is over after nearly five years of fighting, almost all of it on the continent of Eyerdar. We, the Occidental Axis, defeated General Naebigi's rebels and their allies, the NPU. Casualties were in the millions. The God-Emperor of the Kaichou Empire has returned to his throne as well.
As per our agreements with him, we've now annexed parts of the New Pajit Union's territory, including the Barniju Spice Islands off the eastern coast of Aymsland. We've gained 13 million new subjects.
>Population:143 000 000 (72% white, 15 % chink,2%hibibi,6% pajit, 3% darkskin,2% pacharnati)
>Colonials: 28 000 000 Eyerdar 11 200 000 Veita 11 200 000 Ocras
>Economy:6//10
>Food stockpiles:5/10
>Food production: 5/10
>Political Stability: 5/10
>A.Exploration
>B.Food production & Population growth
>C.Improve religion/culture
>D.Settle new lands
>E.Construction
>F.Improve Military
>G.Research science
>H.Improve Navy
>I.Improve economy
>J.Regional development
>K.Diplomacy and war
>L.Government and laws
The home continent was mostly unaffected by the war - in its initial stages there were rebels on SA and KE territory, but we swiftly dealt with them.
Almost all of the battles in the war took place on Eyerdar. Trench warfare and massed artillery usage has left parts of the countryside devastated.

I give up on trying to find people through Roll20.
Why is it that 90% of people who play roleplaying games are shit-eatingly insane?
- Sane
- Normal
- Non-edgelord
- No magical realms
Is it so much to ask?
Seriously, people complain about the lack of DMs but when you think about, it "that guy" is a good chunk of the player base.
No wonder nobody wants to DM for a bunch of shits with 0 social appeal who want to play dragon lolis.
>>47211282
>reminder that almost everyone who uses randoms on roll 20 have probably gave up finding a real group because they where shit in one way or another.
>>47211282
Yes.
So my friend and I decided to get in to W40K and I just bought this as my first army... whatever. I downloaded the 7th edition codex as well. What else do I need to get ready to play?
>>47208949
(I'm kind of annoyed it shows a librarian dreadnought on the side but it actually comes with a furioso dreadnought)
i bump this since my gf and i want to get started, we're planning on buying one of the starting armies.
>>47208949
Go pirate Codex: Blood Angels. It has all the info you need to play with Blood Angel models.
I recommend using Codex: Space Marines instead unless you really like BA.
I wanna know how creative you guys can get. It's hard to break out of the default "elves, dwarfs, orcs, and hobbits" box.
Half x, half y variations are cool too.
>>47205400
Not super original, but in my main fantasy setting halflings, elves, and giants are all the same species, but they grow through their whole lives.
No, eventually I can only see the seams of the cool things I've ripped off, get angry, sad and irritated at myself and delete everything. And then the process starts over.
>>47205419
>halflings grow as big as elves eventually
huh?
How do you justify any other weapons besides guns in a modern setting?
Gun regulation.
>>47193471
You don't, if you're going for realism.
Otherwise, you need not look any further than a lot of stylized action films to gain inspiration on why throwing weapons (like knives/shuriken), melee weapons, unarmed combat, or even archery can have its place. And you can tweak the rules to reflect that.
Explosives and melee weapons are also effective.
Good evening, brothers and sisters of the True Faith! I am Dark Apostle Kol Gotha of the Word Bearers Legion, son of the Most Blessed Primarch Lorgar, and leader of the 83rd Host. I am taking time out of my busy schedule to answer any and all questions you and readers like you may have about what it means to be a true servant of the Dark Gods, and how to better your position in the Great Game and understand the Primordial Truth of the Galaxy.
We had a great turnout last time with great questions, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Dear Dark Apostle Kol Gotha,
Do my many and various STD's count toward my favor with Nurgle or Slaneesh?
>>47192836
Dear Sexual Daemon,
Typically speaking, diseases are in the purview of the Lord of Decay. Anything that causes degradation and decay glorifies Grandfather Nurgle, no matter how it is contracted. Sexual intercourse may fall under the hand of the Plague God if the purpose of such action is to create and populate, as the creation of life is as glorious to Nurgle as the the destruction of it is.
Slaanesh, however, is always a fickle mistress, and may have inflicted such a punishment upon you for some failing, real or perceived, so be sure to offer supplication to the Dark Prince to lift whatever curse you have earned.
Either way, the actions you're currently undertaking glorify the Dark Gods, so go ahead and continue your sexual conquests, and await further signs of patronage from either God (and you'll receive them soon enough).

Dear Dark something or whatever,
Have you ever eaten a part of your own body?
Making a weird city/megadungeon setting, and I'm trying to create a currency system that is deliberately obtuse, confusing, circular, and illogical as possible. Here's what I have so far.
>1 Groat=12 shillings
>1 Shilling is equal to a sixpenny
>A sixpenny is half of a Bobhog
>A Bobhog is three Tanners
>1 Tanner is a quarter of a Eightpence
Could you guys help me out a bit? What can I add to make this as frustrating to deal with as possible?
>>47183895
>4 Eightpence equals a Sixpenny
>>47183895
The coins are pointy, the smaller their value, the more spikes they have. Some assassins use them as shurikens.
>>47183979
Trying to focus more on the monetary system rather than the coins themselves.

What did you play during the weekend?
Recent purchases or plans?
Favorite card game/game that has cards as a big mechanic?
Ask a card/bgg related question and answer the questsions that you like.
>>47181292
>Old Maid
>discarding cards face up
Disgusting.
>>47181292
>What did you play during the weekend?
Nothing on a tabletop. I might consider digging out Catan or Scrabble soon.
>Recent purchases or plans?
I'm hemming and hawing about whether or not to back the Dresden Files card game. The sticking points are the shipping fees to Ireland and my disinterest in the Dresden Files fiction.
>Favorite card game/game that has cards as a big mechanic?
I confess that I've been fixated on Sentinels of the Multiverse for a good while. Maybe someday I'll graduate to something better, like Netrunner.
>Ask a card/bgg related question and answer the questsions that you like.
When playing a board game, how do you strike a good balance between gameplay and socialization?
>>47181355
I love Dresden Files but I have no interest in backing KS. Might get it when it comes out, though.A shame that non of my friends reads the same books as I do, though - I have the same problem with the Discworld games

What do you guys think of the new Shift mechanic being added?
>>47179674
Woops, wrong one.
I haven't followed FoW in a little bit, do you have an explanation of the mechanic? A quick google search didn't really explain what it does.
>>47179899
From the site:
>Shift cards are double sided, as such you’ll have to play with card sleeves when you participate in official tournaments. Shift cards can be hard cast from your hand as either side of the card by playing the cost printed on the side that you wish to play. Essentially this means you have two options for the price of one card, expanding your options and potentially making your deck more adaptable. Shift doesn’t just end there. On one side of a shift card you will see a shift keyword and a cost. If you play the card down on this side (usually the cheaper total cost side) and later decide you want to change it to the other side. You can do so by playing this shift ability. Once the card is flipped over it can’t flip back (since the shift cost isn’t printed on this side of the card)
>-Shift cards can be played with either side face up from the hand by paying that sides printed cost.
-A card on the field with a face up shift ability printed on it can be flipped (referred to as ‘Shift’ or ‘Shifting’) by paying that shift ability at any time you could play a Spell: Chant. ONLY the side with a printed shift cost can be flipped by paying this cost. (For example; The Lars side can be flipped, the Charlotte side cannot.)
-Shifting does not count as “entering the field” so a card that shifts can attack on the same turn.
-Shifting does not change a card’s orientation (a rested card that shifts will remain rested)
-When not on the field, the side with the shift ability printed on it is the side considered the “front” or “top” for instances that require you to reveal a card, name a card, or put a card into play, and so on (i.e. Shion’s ability upon entering the field as a J-ruler).
For the love of God if someone else asks "BUT MY PLACE USES PAPER COMMONS ONLY/THEY JUST BAN SINKHOLE ETC ETC AND WE HAVE FUN" I'm going to scream. Pauper is small and divided enough as it is. Read the OP.

>Which rules should I follow?
If you don't already have some homebrew version with friends, follow the MTGO card pool and banlist (and please spread this to your friends that start playing with you). Currently the only place Pauper is officially supported by Wizards is online, and they have a card pool and banlist, therefore that is the format we should be using offline on paper as well, since decks and cards can transfer to games between each other with no confusion.
>WAHHH THATS TOO HARD WHERE...
http://www.mtg-hunter.com
The bottom left has a box, select MTGO Pauper, all cards in the card pool and banlist are taken into account.
>What deck should I use?
Ask in the thread!
>Is MTGO worth it?
If you have no local paper competition, but want to play a vast amount of Pauper, it can't be beat, even if it is a clunky GUI, you learn quickly.
Some good decks for newbies include but are not limited to:
>Burn
>Elves
>Goblins
>Stompy
>Slivers
>Affinity
>Mono U control
>UB Teachings
So why does pauper have a ban list?
>>47148902
For the same reason legacy has a ban list. If pauper didn't have a ban list, then the meta would be literally affinity vs cloudpost control vs storm combo.
>>47148902
It has less to do with "unfair" and more to do with meta. When you unban and add every common you get stupid decks.
Goblins is a tier 1 deck... add Goblin Grenade and its just stupid. Hymn is stupid, etc.
As someone who has never been drunk, and has taken strides to avoid the party scene and drunk people, how do I portray a character who is drunk? A character that's an alcoholic? To be fair, most of my group is in the same spot more or less, but I don't want to be tasteless.
>>47208926
There's lots of different kinds of drunks. Angry drunks, jolly drunks, sad drunks, and just plain stupid drunks.
>>47208950
Sleepy drunks, horny drunks, functional drunks
>>47208926
He does stuff that would seem stupid to a sober person.
sup /tg/ who's up for creating a setting? A soft-scifi space opera, more specifically
some ground rules so this isn't absolute anarchy and ends up rather playable:
>Space Opera heavy in political play and 1-to-1 combats (not that space warfare and such should be ignored, of course)
>No aliens. Unless it's as deep space legends or something like that.
>FTL travel is commonplace
>the word of dubs is always truth (unless it contradicts an earlier dubs)
let's start with time: does it take place at the relative beginning of space colonization or long after that, when Earth is forgotten/not as important except as a symbolic cradle? After that we can start establishing the sovereign nations/empires/entities/cultural forces/etc. Let's do this shit
>>47208711
Space opera is not soft science fiction, it is fantasy wrapped in science fiction tropes and themes.
>>47208946
Yeah, that. Let's.
Okay, who do you want to govern? Kings, emperors, a democratic federation? These are usually really important for space operas. I'm more fond of a loose collection of kings and nobles answering to a higher emperor a la Dune myself.

YOU LOT LOOK FAMILIAR, DID YOU SERVE IN THE FIRST WAR OF ARMAGEDDON?

You have one post to justify severed limbs, crippling injuries and eyepatches in a setting with healing magic

Just got some free units after running 2 tutorial matches with someone at my FLGS.
So now I'm wondering if there's a good place for tactica or general discussion because I really liked playing.
Definitely interested in some tips and tricks for for the Southern side.
Right now I have
5x Jager
1x Black Mamba
2x Basilisk (plan on running as jager proxies)
Should I get my hands on a Spitting Cobra and some recon gears ASAP? Are tanks worthwhile for the South? I like the -goth body style and look of the Ballista.
Would this get more attention on /m/ or would that be a waste of time?
>>47203785
Sadly, HG garners next to no attention on /tg/.
I think when the plastics come out, there might be more interest.
