Well, there seems to be no standard thread up, so lets all talk about the worst format.

What are you guys brewing? What are you net decking? Whats your local meta like?
I'm currently in the process of assembling the BG company deck, and trying to brew some shitty UB control deck. My local meta is lots of company, aggro, and mill, so for my shit brew i'm trying to make a deck that can counter all of those strategies.

Looks like a reasonably clean list, but it has been my experience that vampires is not quite good enough yet. Its slower than Human Aggro, and less resilient/powerful than most of the control decks. I think what will truly make/break vampires in this format is what tribal cards we get in the second half of this set.

If we get more good and cheap humans than that deck will continue to be great, but some key zombies or vampires/rakdos burn spells could really make those tribes more powerful, or at least be included into decks on a tier 1 level.

We pick up right where we left off!

The cold clinicality of the alien passageway gives you chills as you walk within it. You're nervous, not just from the mysteries that lie within, but from the feeling of exposure. There's no cover to be found here, and your lack of any sort of shadow is unnerving. You don't want to meet any Covenant here, or anything else that might live here.

You and the squad make it to the T-Junction, one of the only things to break up the grey expanse of the great hallway. It's a straight junction to your left, a corridor smaller than the passageway you're in, seemingly designed for foot traffic rather than vehicles. The corridor is bisected at even intervals by strange pillars of light, and goes on for about a hundred yards before it splits in another T-junction. It's also littered with Covenant military detritus, such as plasma batteries and ammunition pods, though you don't see any Covenant right now.

Ahead of you in the main passageway seems to be a massive chamber, filled with bright white light that contrasts to the light blue that fills the rest of the complex. The passageway leads to a strange, glowing bridge, that looks a little like Covenant shields, but somehow more solid. The bridge stretches out across a great chasm, as far as you can tell, leading to a floating platform in the centre of the massive chamber. You can see another massive passageway on the other side of the chamber, as well as one higher up and one lower down, though they don't have any bridges. Could it be some kind of massive elavator? There also seem to be smaller passageways set into the walls of the chamber, though you can't make out any details at this distance.

Behind you is the way you came, leading back to the outside and the canyon.

You were deciding which path to take. You Squad looks at you expectantly.

So I've finally gotten around to slightly updating some tables I made a while back. They're for creating some kind of Mad Max/Fallout-esque Post-Apocalyptic faction/clan. I will be doing some assignments until the weekend. But in the meantime some content discussion.

Next Game will continue on Action Phase, and will happen around the weekend. Until then I'll be stalking this thread and adding content as well as answering questions.

Dearth of Gods is a d6 skirmish system and a public game on /tg/ accomodating 20 players per session. And posting turns around 1.6 times a day.

Premature Hub explanation:

When Players Reach the Sacred Forge, not only may they recover their wounds but they will also refill their soul count to 1.0 Exactly [even if they spend it to 0 it will remain at 1 to avoid Hallowing.] It will not fill past that if you have have greater than 1.0 souls. But it wont dock you to 1.0 if you have more either.

Wound Recovery here is gradual but not instant. However as a consequence the Forge is not a combat zone when lit, and players are urged not to fight in it for fear of being dismissed by the Forge Maiden

Gaining Souls:
The Forge Maidens ever strive to call on Heroic Spirits to fight for the Fire and as a result may substantiate Wanderers with the strength they gained on their travels via the souls they have collected. Normally Souls are gained by defeating and killing enemies as was preordained by the Old Gods, however putting a wayward spirit at Peace will allow one to gain even more. Sometimes it's possible that the only way for one to Grant another Peace is by combat. Peace conditions vary from Vessel to Vessel but all require the understanding of words that swords cannot alone acquire.

- Core Leveling: Levelling is different for each Wanderer but all of them use the Forge Maiden's grace to increase their base stats; to accomplish this they must spend Souls equal to their highest stat to increase ANY stat by one. So if one has an END of 2 but has a Tek of 7, levelling up END or any other stat for that matter would cost them 7.
Alternatively a character with the highest stat of 3 will cost them 3 souls to level any other stat by one.

- Class Trainers:
On top of levelling various trainers maybe available to further the capablities of certain classes or simply instruct in more rudimentary matters of defense like sword fighting or surviving the wylds. This will serve to increase your Ranks and are often times more manageable to afford than Core Leveling. They can be paid in Souls or Tolls.

Tolls are the currency in Abalathia and are used to trade with those behind or outside of the Wall. Since much of the materials in the Dearth are made of Souls it comes as no suprise that one may convert even these nascent forces into simple Minted Spirits called Tolls. Tolls are used to pay for materials as well as legitimate services offered by various guilds. However since there are varying Factions at work, each one will produce a differen t Mint. In Abalathia and the city of Dias it's Tolls, some ancient societies for example will use Scales the qualifiers for these currencies is marked by their ability to be converted from Souls and back again using certain processes known only to their minters...

GW has recently announced that they are going to do a complete reboot of their warhammer 40k series, starting from the ground up.

Most of the lore will remain the same, but it will be made a bit lighter and more user friendly to newer players, and to that end, they have decided that 20 primarchs is too many, and to choose a more serrendiptitous number like 7, 8, 11, or 13.

Which Primarchs do you think are redundant, do not have enough of a personality to carry a story on their own, whos units are boring or unoriginal, or who you could just plain do without?

Hey guys im up to starting to join some of my friends in their Mutants and Masterminds playgroup.

I have no idea what kind of stuff will go on there and i have absolutly no idea what kind of character i should play and so on. My DM said "think about a power you would like to have and i will see how i bring it into play".

Any tips, ideas, opinions or suggestions?

My first idea was a hero who manipulates time... but i think this would be much to overpowerd for a hero in a rpg i guess...

/tg/, how do you handle the level of average magic competence of your commoners?

I've recently realized that I've been essentially treating all my commoner's and non-magical NPCs as though they had never seen magic before in their life and are often "ooo" and "aaah"ing even the most basic of magic effects. But if most worlds, especially D&D worlds like Forgotten Realms are dealing with high amounts of magic, wouldn't they be aware this shit is magic?

At what point should your average farmer look at a magician's spell and be thoroughly unimpressed? "Oh, my aunt could do that", or "Yeah, I COULD harvest the crops that way, but I don't have the gold to keep it up.", etc.

Mechanically though, how would it change things? Most players like impressing the local yolkals with some magic, but if peasants are unimpressed by 3rd level spells regardless of how common they are, then wouldn't that detract?

What is the level that makes the average person not an idiot, yet not overly knowledgeable.

Also, I don't think it's really that setting specific. I think the level of magic itself would be a determining factor moreso than anything else, so wouldn't be more dependent on the high, medium, and low magic variants?

Rot druid. In my campaign there's a class called Skrelniks, druids who work the cycle of life from both ends, raising the dead to till soil and work compost. They've got fungus leshys that are inhabited by the spirit of one of their ancestors, and often choose yeast as their leshy, making beer and bread. They're out to overclock nature.

That's pretty good, although I'd like to avoid druids altogether.
I was thinking more about a mercenary or lone traveler type, but I don't know if that's feasible without getting into respectively NE or CN territory.
I'm having a hard time defining the personality of a TN character since it's generally the nameless bystander alignment.

do you make a special distinction for each one?
Are they gender specific terms for someone who practices magic?
Does it make any sense for D&D to spread out the magic classes by titles the way physical classes have rangers, paladins, etc.

Discuss all magic classes and how you want them to be specialized such as Summoners, etc.
