Does anyone play yugioh?
>>47223950
not really
>>47223950
Once. Then my cards got burned because the only other player I knew didn't follow game rules, and instead followed the show's rules
>Summon monster regardless of how strong they were. Special summons regardless if conditions were met, drew cards when I wasn't looking.
Seriously turned me off.
>I still won.
Not sure how.
>>47223950
I quit when some fag threw my Exodia deck into the ocean
What's the "best" creature for a character to be parasitised by in D&D?
Feel free to use whatever definition of "best" you feel like.
The fiend folio has a number of parasites/symbiotes that act in many ways like living magical items.
The best is whichever one you can afford that suits your purposes.
>>47223717
What the shit is that in the pic
Its fookin scary
>>47224065
Bleeding tooth mushroom. It tastes horrible but it can be used as a topical analgesic, which is weird. It's called bleeding tooth because it looks like a bleeding tooth and it's also a good thing to put on an injured tooth. That's weird.

Obliterator virus. Starts off as an increase in martial statistics, the sword seems to sit easily in your hand. Eventually the sword starts to stick. Soon it fuses to your flesh and is absorbed. When you hold a crossbow metal bolts form under your skin. Eventually it's impossible to tell where flesh ends and armor begins, with metal spikes and blades and who knows what the fuck bursting out of your skin at will. You are now a living weapon.
Alright, /tg. I'm bored, so it's storytime!
Tell us about a time the GM pulled a fast one on you, but instead of enraging you and the other players, you proceeded to bust a gut laughing.
> the entire point of RPGs is laughing
God how I hate this autistic sentiment. It has been perpetuated by the retarded greentexts on this board where "lol you get nat20 on persuasion so the orc guard lets you buttfuck him" and "lol nat 1 on your sword haha you stab a tree and die HAHAHAHA"
This kind of shit is magnified by systems that literally encourage giving out "luck points" for particularly funny (read: autistic) play that causes fat neckbeards to roar in laughter and pound on the table.
Humor has its place in the game. A game with no laughter is going to be boring indeed. But when you hijack your storyline for cheap laughs and whore it out just to have what is most "epik" and would make a good /tg/ screenshot, you are destroying the fabric that makes RPGs such a reward hobby, and raping it for the sake of your lisp-ridden autistic laughter.
Stop.

So is this bait?
I don't know, sometimes new pasta slips by me.
Because that wasn't what he was asking.
>>47223688
This is bait, right?
I-I'll bite for the sake of science. I'll sacrifice myself and look foolish by responding.
Since the dawn of their inception, tabletop games have been used as a medium of entertainment. OP didn't mention any tumblr tier, "I Heart Gaming" shit.
He's literally just asked to share stories when the GM surprised the party with a clever trap or some such.
Is there something else going on, Anon? Talk to us.
This is how I neutral evil.
Is Magic Man from Adventure Time neutral evil?
>>47223690
That cocksucker is Chaotic Evil.
>>47223714
Second.
>this is how I neutral good
I'm running a 3.5e campaign and one of my players is a paladin. To spice up the story a bit I'm planning on placing the paladin in a situation where he has to activate an ancient machine in order to proceed with the story. However the machine's activation will set off an entire countryside of explosive runes. An entire kingdom will be blown off the face of the planet, thousands killed. He's previously taken an oath of pacifism and will lose his benefits if he harms anything. At the very least he is going to fall from grace and lose his divine powers. How would you go about handling the situation were you him?
>>47223504
Get someone else to activate the machine.
Stop being a dick GM and trying to screw over paladins for no fucking reason just to have an edgelord doomsday weapon set off bby a main character for "muh deep narrative" or whatever you edgelord idiots are after. DMs like you are the reason people hate playing paladins, and you might as well put a barbarian on sedatives or have a wizard in a fucking antimagic field for half the campaign.
Have you just played Spec Ops: The Line?
What kind of stats would a replica Ten Shin from Steven Seagall's private collection have in a generic fantasy setting?
What kind of stats would he have?
>>47222882
The plastic stick probably counts as a Light Club, a Fine one, I guess, if it's as tough as it's described.
>>47223132
Might want to look again junior. That's a genuine Steven Seagall walking, fighting stick. Designed by the Man Himself, known for not only his ability to act but also his ability to fight and kill on command. Not only that, the Steven Seagall Ten Shin Kung Fu Fighting Walking Stick is made out of genuine Cold Steel indestructible polypropylene. I'd pit it against any of the finest weapons ever to grace history.
>>47223759
Alright, but by the rules sticks can't be Very Fine so that's pretty much the best I can do.
What does /tg/ think of the new game Tak?
I have been playing it a lot and it is actually really fun and easy to make yourself.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cheapassgames/tak-a-beautiful-game
>>47222714
Why are they using sliced beef, tiramisu, cheese and bananas as board game pieces?
>>47222714
Tell me honestly, are you the only anon that ever posts about Tak on /tg/?
It's my first post on 4chan ever so I doubt it.
sup /tg/, what's the medieval fantasy setting that more people should know about because it's actually really underrated and original?
(not necessarily tabletop rpg settings, of course)
>>47222496
Forgotten Realms.
>>47222496
Greyhawk.
>>47222496
Aarklash
Because it is dead as fuck and I like the RPG along with the funny hats that all of the ladies wear
It has Orcs and Elves and other generic tripe, but at the same time it has a well developed setting, interesting themes, and unique designs which set it apart.
What chess set is this? Its basically a big one like a table with it on it that you can play with a friend with
>>47222491
another
better
>>47222491
They're a Staunton set of some variety.
I don't think they're Dubrovnik chessmen - the bases are steeper and the heads of the bishops are fatter than Dubrovnik chessmen.
I need cyberpunk ads or things that could easily edited into ads for a cyberpunk setting. Billboards, magazine covers, TV ads, newspapers, broadcasts, screamsheets. All that fluff to set the mood for the dark future. gifs, pictures, and text in this thread.
huh
Discussion of games that were played before 1900 or modern variants of those games, as well as some modern games that "feel" traditional.
I just recieved a xiangqi set (higher-quality than this one) that I ordered.
>>47222334
I bought my father in law that game for Christmas, don't know if he ever played it (he's been kind of preoccupied with cancer). Is it a fun game? He is a really big fan of chess.
>>47222397
Well, I've only played one game so far and most of it was my opponent asking me to remind them what the pieces were.
That said, I had fun.
Sorry to hear wbout your father-in-law.
What 6th color should I get?
>>47222005
Yellow
>>47222005
Pink.
yellow
Would pre Heresy, Emps and the 20 Primarchs have been enough against The Necrons if they were at War in Heaven levels?
I guess so
I guess no
>>47221716
No.
The Old ones at their height with both Orks and the Eldar and the peak of their strength couldn't completely destroy the Necrons, and that's barring all the c'tan. The Emperor wouldn't outright lose, but it's far fetched to say he'd win either.
Has anyone played this?
>>47221205
>>Steampunk
That is all I needed to know to know that it is trash.
>>47221205
I havent had a chance yet to play, but I own the book.
I like the system. It seems simple enough and has a good crafting subsystem, which is ideal for a steampunk rpg.
The stock setting is absolutely cringeworthy though, so if I ran it I would run my own homebrew setting.
Why is it cringeworthy? And why is Steampunk trash?
I know the precursors thing in space fantasy/space opera has become a big cliché at this point, but given the age and size of the universe isn't it going to inevitably exist in some way or form (albiet not as impactful or setting shaking if you're trying to avoid it)?
>>47221019
Given the age and size of the universe, it's entirely likely that anything that came before us died off before light from their side of the universe reached our lonely planet.
Also, reminder that we live in the latter half of the universe's timeline.
>>47221083
Heavy elements weren't really a thing in the former half, so it's equally likely that this is about how long it takes for intelligent life to appear.
I much prefer the 'Precursors were literally more technologically advanced humans' spin, especially when you have 'Golems' and 'Monsters' AKA robots and genetically modified animals, and there's a nice blend of old-school and sci-fi tech. Maybe a bit like Trigun.
