alright /a/ has been trolling me, what anime is this webm from, thanks in advance

Overlord there you go, now quick someone delete this to make room for a real thread. The hell didn't you ask this on anime for?
>>47228888
sorry for the bump, but I wasn't sure what thread it belonged in. They mostly trolled me, but my drunken ass saw through their lies.
It's from Overlord.
I found it through a couple quick google searches so I can't say much about it, since I just found out it's name.
>running a campaign set around floating islands and airships

>You are an adventurer. A hero to some, but nothing but a murderer and brigand to others. But your talents are undeniable.
>Now, you find yourself in a quest to slay a dragon, said to inhabit an ancient castle in ruins. Much to your surprise there is no record of any attacks, but severak thrustworthy villagers have seen it, so the local lord offered you a handsome reward.
>However, as you talk through the ruins to notice everything is strangely okay, and even the doors to the dragon's lair are human sized. And upon reaching it, you hear a feminine voice asking "Who is there, a visitor?"
>Upon walking in you see this.
What you do, adventurer?

"Damnit Ryan, I told you we're not doing this magical-realm bullshit anymore."
I then get up, leave the table, and start looking for a better GM.

Aside from that, my current character is fascinated by dragons
>>47228414
Would have bro adventures with the cute dragon 10/10
Sup /tg/ I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with a BBEG for my campaign. So let me ask you this /tg/, If you were a BBEG in a fantasy setting, what would you look like and how would you conquer the world?
>>47228180
Fat, ugly and utter failure at being a BBEG. Spends his days wallowing in self-pity with other failed evil overlords.
>>47228180
I'd want to be some sort of necromancer, individually capable enough to focus on my goals while cutting down on potential traitors. Then I would set about first replacing the leadership of powerful nations with controlled patsies and subsequently keeping them in constant states of war against each other so as to profit with my skeleton-staffed industries and also retain an unending supply of workers. Eventually I would emerge out of nowhere as charismatic unifier and savior to lead the warring nations against some external threat and eventually swoop the world up into one empire as the benevolent Lich Dictator.
Some sort of rich mogul prick with a widespread dominating buisness presence. My existence would be the keystone to the entire operation. To take me down would destabilize the economy of the entire nation and/or nations and put countless people out of work and into the streets. "Too big to fail" indeed. An economic victory Civ Style.
So, this RPG series, thoughts? personal experiences with playing/running one of these? I'd like to get some ideas of what actually playing one of these games is like as opposed to just reading the books and speculating on it.
Because I want to know if they are worth getting out and putting a game together for, or if I should just let them continue to gather dust on my shelf.
Well, since you apparently have the books for this franchise that I've never seen mentioned before, I'm going to say that you're the authority on whether it's any good.
>>47228144
I agree with this. OP, you should definitely go ahead and run these games, then get back to us with your verdict.
I look at a lot of indie or lesser known RPGs (by tg standards anyway) and I have literally never heard of it.
So in Warhammer 40K, clones don't have souls and that's why the Imperium and Chaos can't use them. Okay, makes sense. But why don't the Tau use them?
wait what
where is this fluff about clones?
The Imperium doesn't use them because their lack of soul always makes them useless.
Tau don't because they don't do heavy genetic engineering and prefer to just record memories/create AI/consciousness transfer of their greatest heroes instead of making Dreadnoughts and clones. See Puretide Engram.
>>47226978
because every single tau is a clone.
and how the fuck does a clone not have a soul?
so after last weeks "things you find in a senile wizards lair" thread i started using some of the ideas as fodder and trying to really flesh out this tower. i decided to incorporate the hypercube dungeon that's been circulated on here for the upper levels where stuff makes even less sense. i'd really appreciate some feedback on some of the things i've written so far as well as ideas for even more stuff. will post the hypercube GT for anyone who doesn't know it yet. i'm still in a conceptual stage but any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
>MAKE YOUR MONEY WORK FOR YOU!
a sizable glass case sits under a big bright light with a clockwork device that proclames; "watch your money work!". it bears a coin slot that'll accept any normal coin and a large crank you turn thrice according to the worn directions. any coin placed inside is animated and dropped into the display case. inside is a plantation style villa with dried up fields with wisps of miniature crops and tiny desiccated livestock mummified by age. the villa needs repainting and is covered in normal sized cobwebs. the back corner is broken and dirt spills onto the floor. tiny tiny footprints and indention of coins mar the dirt. it seems a banner pole fell from the ceiling and smashed the case, letting the animated coins inside free. a small structure built of matchsticks, needles and other tiny building materials leads up to the coin slot and cords dangle from the handle, letting the coins animate others of their kind. each coin looks like a typical coin save for the little noodle arms and legs that lead to bare human-like feet and hands, orientated so the face side is right-side up and used as their "face". they understand any spoken language and "speak" by slapping themselves in various places in rythem and flashing hand-signals. built to work and long without a proper purpose they eagerly jump at the chance to help. like lemmings, pikmen or ants they pile in a task until they can get it done, bordering on competence in numbers when set to a simple task. they are not fast, they are not smart but as long as you explain it like you would to a child they'll get it and get to it. they are jolly and tireless, if not very quiet. denominations worth more money are stronger, faster, smarter and a bit more competent, though not by much. they are found throughout the tower, having had century's to meander their way from one place to the next. (cont)
>>47227005
make your money work for you conclusion.
if one rolls on its back it curls up like a bug until it stops rolling, then kicks and flails until it gets back to it's feet like a beetle stuck on it's back. they don't mind being kept in a pouch but try to get back to you if spent, jogging back to you across the counter like a forlorn child who somehow knows dad isn't just going out for cigarettes. each is truly alive with its own wants and hopes and a crippling fear of death... or getting stuck in the couch.
> Signs everywhere with such helpful directions as:
-Living room this way.
-"Living Room" that way.
in the less convoluted portion of the tower a plethora of helpful signs help paint the way to various locations. it seems to assume one has a basic understanding of the houses layout and unusual architecture and merely provides signposts to places of interest. at a T two signs facing opposite each other read, [living room, this way ---->] ["living room" <---- that way]. one door opens to a nice living room with comfy couches, one of which pulls out into a king sized bed for a large creature, the sheets have gnoll hair on them and smell slightly of the acrid musk. it is a safe room to sleep in and has nice creature comforts including a bathroom with running water, toilet, sink and shower, a limited selection of wines and finger foods in a cold box, light reading materials in a disorganized bookshelf and all manner of pillows and snuggly soft blankets. the lights are on a dimmer switch that responds to clapping so one needn't get up to turn them on or off. the floor is even comfortable enough to sleep on, covered in wall to wall plush carpet that won't to stay dirty or wet for long.
Do you ever put music on in the background of your games? Just to fill the space or add a special flare to certain moments? Post some music in this thread.
Always been a fan of this soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ7eq0_4HC8

>>47226780
Oh, and on your general question - yes, I always run games with music. I have some general playlists e.g. town / travel / forest / minor battle / major battle / sad / epic etc. with enough songs to put on
NieR Soundtrack is also god tier
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNZmzLzvJo8
I'd say your best guess is to hunt for soundtracks and ambient tracks. A lot of video game soundtracks can be extracted from their files to find a bunch of loopable tracks.
I follow a somewhat Dark Souls philosophy of either straight FX tracks or minimal music before being interrupted by a significant event, though this is just to reinforce the setting; your musical needs may vary.
What would a scifi setting be like that plays all the most paranoid views regarding VR tech (Oculus and beyond) to their conclusion?
pic related, they're seeing/feeling one another's bodies.
>>47226117
Man I can't imagine what that'd be like.
>>47226117
See the Star Trek TNG Episode about Barclay's holodeck fantasies for a quick look at the concept.
>>47226117
Could be interesting if the PCs were some sort of Luddite faction
>the king's spymaster has discovered that there is a spy in the king's army, and narrowed it down to 3-5 individuals
>the king decides to send all 3-5 of them on a suicide mission to make sure the spy is killed, while perhaps doing some good.
Does this sound like a good set up for a game where one player plays a traitor with interests counter to the group? How do I generate good intrigue games where someone in the group is not all that they appear to be?
>>47225776
As long as everyone knows and accepts the premise going in, yeah. If you can get them to go along with it and they don't just... spill the beans five minutes in, I think you can have a lot of fun. Make sure you add a lot of private messages/note passing with all the players, maybe help them set up secrets for each one of them so that everything is suspicious. Just try not to stab everyone in the back too often. Do it enough and they'll kill everyone they meet, and each other.
sounds good to us!
>>47225776
Result: spy ditches party at critical moment, 2-4 loyal men die, spy is now completely unaccounted for.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but /tg/ isn't one of the boards I spend much time on.
Is it alright to start a thread looking for feedback on a custom TCG? Is that something that would be cool here, or not?

After the dragon having been slain, your party approaches his hoard of gold. Upon further investigation you find out that all of the coins are made of chocolate covered by a magical preservative "golden" tinfoil.
How do you proceed?
>>47224368
that's a boring and dumb cop out. sell them, I guess. chocolate is valuable in pseudo-medieval Europe, right?
>>47224368
Eat chocolate, save magic foil for using or selling.
Do you hang out with your group beyond playing the game?
>>47224168
In itself, not really, since most of them have thight schedule. However, dependings on train, metros and hours, we can do a bit of way back together which is nice.
>>47224168
No. We only played together because I was a noob asking for a group to play with. As in, I used an anonymous college community app and asked for it.
We're not friends but we game well enough.
Yes. They are my best and only friends. I'm also fucking one of them so there's that.

What it really is, is that they don't like you. Trust me anon I learned that one the hard way. Friends who don't make time for you, are not worth having.

>What are some top tier decks I can get on MTGO/Paper?
http://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/pauper
>BUT I WANT TO SEE ALL VIABLE DECKS!
http://tappedout.net/users/fruuty/deck-folders/
>Which rules should I follow?
If you don't already have some homebrew version with friends, follow the MTGO card pool and banlist (and please spread this to your friends that start playing with you). Currently the only place Pauper is officially supported by Wizards is online, and they have a card pool and banlist, therefore that is the format we should be using offline on paper as well, since decks and cards can transfer to games between each other with no confusion.
>WAHHH THATS TOO HARD WHERE...
http://www.mtg-hunter.com
The bottom left has a box, select MTGO Pauper, all cards in the card pool and banlist are taken into account.
>What deck should I use?
Ask in the thread!
>Is MTGO worth it?
If you have no local paper competition, but want to play a vast amount of Pauper, it can't be beat, even if it is a clunky GUI, you learn quickly.
Some good decks for newbies include but are not limited to:
>Burn
>Elves
>Goblins
>Stompy
>Slivers
>Affinity
>Mono U control
>UB Teachings
>>47224091
Good job this time OP
I'm glad you posted ruse cruise, as I'm actually thinking of coming back to pauper. I don't have any of my old cards on MTGO except for 2 brainstorms, 4 counterspell, and 4 ruse cruise. Is there some kind of U/R tempo deck with decent matchups out there?
>>47224110
Scratch that, I do have the remains of an old standard deck that's a bunch of heroic shit and enchantments from BotG block
Live pauper thread! I'm about to start playing on mtgo for the first time since DKA probably, what's all this shit about play points and leagues?
