So are there backers here? And what Addons did you choose if any?
Backed it, and added the Darkroot Expansion as well.
Got the dark root expansion and extra tiles
Backed about £150.
I think I'll go for that expansion. Maybe a boss though.
It's like £80 + £70, (I think postage was £7 but that's likely to change).
Could I get a megaboss ontop?
I'm not 100% on the details.
I wanted to run an Easter themed one off Adventure, has anyone here ran something like this or at least a holly day Special Adventures? Do you have some Ideas?
>>47285213
Its going to be a supers game, so far my ideas are:
1.Heroes try to stop a villain from using Moai statues found on Easter island to access Precursor technology.
2.Gang of Holiday themed supervilains hides Easter egg shaped bombs at different locations in the city, the heroes must find them in time!
3. The heroes are transported to another planet where they encounter that planets mesaia like figure.
etc....

You can bet your sweet ass that a lot of these sets are going to be broken up on eBay. Wait until pledges start being fulfilled and shipped, and then start eBay hunting for what you want.
Hello, Elegan/tg/entlemen,
After several campaign of rogue trader and dark heresy, I came up with the idea of doing a Necron campaign in a custom sector taking stuff from the oestalan sector. Here would be the plot, but it's up to your critics: the PCs have separatly memories of an expedition of monkeys (humans), each led by a mechanicus guy. They just have memory of this guy who have somehow stolen data from there heads. Some times after that (don't know how much time), they are truly awakens by the scarabs repearing them and encountering anomalies in the mind-data of the PCs. The PCs are part of the highest rank of a Nemesor's court (for whom I need a name). They find their nemesor partly awake but he have some damages and is unable to talk properly and is highly amnesic (more than the PCs. The aim of the players now, is to:
- See how the tombworld is going and awaking it
- Try to heal the nemesor or perhaps taking his place or ploting to find another nemesor to give fealty.
- Exploring the sector, gaining tech and resources, do partnerships with other races (for the moment)
- Why a monkey stole their memories ? findin' the monkey.
- Etc, etc.
To help me, I partly read the necron character guide, here is the link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2b-KRdbOmU5Qi1xY1kwTWtjNEU/view?usp=sharing
So here is my question:
What types (careers) of characters can I propose to my players ? In the Necron character guide, we have cryptek, happy necron and the deathmark (some kind of spy and sniper) and the harvestmaster (kind of tactical genius + pilot ?). What can I add to complete those classes ?
TL;DR:
- what careers equivalent can I have for a necron player group ?
- find a name for my nemesor ( with -drakh, -ek, -ep, -en, -yn, -or at the end), and no, no Nemesor Hodor.
-What kind of fun scenarii could be fun to do with that "setting" ?
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Sorry for the bad froggy english.
op here, adding some suggestions:

- a mental disorder random chart would be cool
- For the PCs to eventually interact with other races, the pdf is saying that they can disguise ... Which I find fucking retarded regarding the level of technology the necrons have. So I had the idea of a nanoswarm acting as a shaper around the necron and forming a human (or other race) shell around the necron. Of course it doesn't eliminate the social malus but I find it less retarded. Plus, those kind of devices can be really helpful for preventing mental illnesses amongst the necrons nobility. It can give the necrons the old feeling, in appearance, of having a biological body, and thus, alleviate the psychological pain of the biotransference. It's like the mirror box of the amputee (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_box)
I'll post necrons during that time
Hi /tg, I've been trying to form a semi-realistic tactical rpg and have held a few test runs but I haven't found anything to my liking yet. The systems I've used so far are:
d20 modern (leveling is fubar, since at some point the characters will essentually be gods)
Wasteland/Fallout pnp: (My favourite so far, mechanic wise, but too focused on the wasteland even if tweaked towards a modern urban setting it's just not right. Also the % of a % roll sucks donkey.)
Fear: (Nice leveling but too heavy on the fantasy aspect. )
Warhammer rpg: (the randomness is a bit too great imo. A great character can be killed by a random pleb, sure, but a trained solider should not have a hit chance of less than 40% and be called good.....)
I've looked at gurps and shadowrun but haven't gotten a feel for them. The World of darkness system I could technically use, but once again, doesn't feel right for this type of game.
So what system would you say would be best for this type of game? Even at a high level the players should be aware of the dangers from a single stray bullet or random goofball with a knife...
Ops and Tactics is pretty spiffy. Uses an action point system instead of standard/move actions, gun damage is based on the bullets you fire and not 'hurf bug gun big damage', uses 3d6 for its core mechanic, has armor primarily provide a limited pool of damage reduction on top of defense bonuses, and has two health pools- extended, which is the less lethal scrapes and bruises and plot armor you have, and core, which is serious injuries and bleeding out. Extended hp grows with level, core remains <20 forever. Critical hits go straight to core. Action points means that a guy with a knife in your face is Bad News.
100% GURPS for this, with High-Tech and Tactical Shooting (and Martial Arts maybe, if you want MCMAPS and Krav Maga and styles like that).
>>47282973
I respect your opinion, but Ops and Tactics is shit. Truly. Such a kludgy clusterfuck of rules bent over backwards to do something they were never meant to.
Pwrsonally, the only way I would ever even consider recommending it is if the requestor only wanted to play D20 for the rest of his life, with no wiggle room whatsoever. It's like recommending a mutated version of BRP for a game of Exalted.
So I'm planning to running a campaign in the Resident Evil universe. What sort of system would you guys recommend ?

if it weren't for the group being over Skype, I would totally use that.
Me again, wanted to see if I could get a little help with something.
Todays project for The 12 Towers is getting a logo/box cover complete. I've been going back and forth on this for a while and it's been driving me nuts. Don't worry, I'm not asking for free artwork, just some suggestions and ideas that people would like to see.
I'll take whatever I can get, criticism, sketches, ideas, anything. By the end of today I'd like to make a final Box Art so I can stop stressing.
Pic related, I made this about 2 months ago. Actually kinda liked it, posting the other in a minute.
The other crappy logo I made. Got a lot of heat from it for being too similar to MTG.

I think the first one is fine

Thanks, working on more detail. Originally I wanted something with 12 towers on it, but holy hell it got messy fast.

My sister wants me to play D&D shes getting for her birthday with my brother and me, HELP!
I'm not new to RPG videogames bu I've never played D&D
shes getting some weird "starter pack" of version 4 or something form the official website and I have no idea if D&D can even be played with only 3 people
I thought the DM couldnt also play so that would just be 2 of us and a DM
What the fuck am I in for tomorrow?
Just asking, but exactly how overweight is your sister?

How? You can't roll like shit throughout an entire session. If you are, you're probably putting yourself into situations where you need really good rolls to not mess up.

Is this really the best image you could've found?
Hey so my character came into possession of a small austere bunker in my campaign. I'm planning to use it as a base-of-operations for my paranormal investigator company.
It has
>Small foyer
>Kitchen room
>Small barracks
>Prison room
>Dojo
>Storage
>workshop
>2 spare rooms
The setting is modern day action/paranormal
What should i stock it with?
>>47279006
Before stocking it, I have to ask:
>What are you up against?
>What's your specialty?
>What are your team's specialties?
If you're game centers around a specific paranormal thingy, you'll want to build focused for that kind of mission. If you're dealing with generalized paranormal thingies, you'll want to have preparations for pretty much every scenario.
If God has anything to say about this, you might want to either convert a spare room into consecrated ground as a small chapel, if you can't combine a meditative, contemplative holy space with the dojo.
Kitchen should have a stocked larger, storage should deal with this. And if workshop isn't also a room for experimentation, then you might want a lab out of one of those spare rooms. But if it's less alchemy that you'll be doing and more research, you might want to stock that room with a library of esoteric, relevant texts instead.
Also, does you party have relevant skills that you might not have? Skills that might merit a space to utilize them, like paranormal photography necessitating a darkroom or something? They might want a say in what one of the spare rooms is made built for.
I know little of what you're doing or the paranormal, but I do know about making the most of tight spaces.
>>47279069
>Before stocking it, I have to ask:
>>What are you up against?
We deal with special interest targets, Spirits,Cultists, and oddities.
>>What's your specialty?
Psion/tactician
>>What are your team's specialties?
We have
2 infiltrators
2 melee combatants
1 other psion
1 digital analyst
we deal with general paranormal things and so far we have access to sutra seals and a few vendors for mystic and alchemist items
>combine a meditative, contemplative holy space with the dojo.
that's a good idea
>stock that room with a library of esoteric, relevant texts instead.
I'll need supplies but yea that's good
>paranormal photography necessitating a darkroom
I actually haven't considered that as an option. i'll have to look into that example
Also, any ideas on making concrete walls more homely? it seems so blunt. maybe propaganda posters or plaster paint?
>>47279006
>Paranormal investigator
>Having a fixed base
You're going to want some kind of charms or stuff to keep out evil spirits.
What game design/system mechanics do you hate the most?
Worst for me:
>Single die resolution (e.g. roll over TN on 1d20, roll under TN on 1d100)
>Luck mechanics that force you to take the re-roll
>Different subsystems for everything (magic, physical combat, virtual combat, etc.)
>>47278910
True Line of Sight.
>>47278910
>roll 2d6 for any check, plus useless bonuses
>6- is an arbritrary "fail forward" failure, 7 to 11 you kinda got what you but you get screwed, 12+ you get what you want for true but no one roll a 12 ever
Is this a game for people who likes to get fucked over by the gm and don't want to admit it?
>>47278910
>Single die resolution (e.g. roll over TN on 1d20, roll under TN on 1d100)
What, you prefer "roll until you fail"?

>breech taboo subjects in a nonchalant manner
etc.
>>47278307
>create increasingly abstract pattern of occurrences
>>47277901
You don't. It's explicitly forbidden in the rules and you should die in a fire if you ever doubt that.
How do you feel about the fact GW are actually making (some) nicely priced sets now?
>>47277021
Standard 1500 points games are still prohibitively expensive for many, but the starters at least provide a more significant cost-savings.
Were this a game where a vehicle, HQ choice, and single squad of Troops composed a good amount of your forces and forces that could compete fairly against each other, this would be much more significant. However, the tabletop is now infested with unbalanced monstrosities and terrible rules. Cost savings aside you're still buying into a much greater expense of a hobby.
>>47277021
This is definitely them taking steps to mend their reputation, and I recognize that. They still have a long way to go, though. Death to the tyrant Kirby, long live the new CEO
>>47278302
An insider investor has noted that Roundtree seems more interested in his retirement than Games Workshop, but even that is an improvement. While Kirby is still on as a kind of an honorary member and thus is allowed to show up and throw some weight around in meetings, he also likes to travel around whenever, and Roundtree conveniently schedules the higherup staff meetings on days when Kirby isn't going to be there.
All in all, seems like they're going in a progressive direction as opposed to the regressive thought that brought us to present day GW. Even if Roundtree isn't the best CEO, or even the most passionate about GW, he's not up his own ass, and that seems to be improvement enough.
Personally, I'm out for the most party. I occasionally dip into LotR minis from GW when I can't find what I want from eBay, but otherwise I'm not planning any future 40k or Fantasy/AoS purchases, and am looking to ditch a good amount of what 40k I have.
