My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. I already thought my life was odd, what with my parents having moved halfway across the country for their new job and leaving me in the care of my older sister... but then my best friend went and had a book shipped to my house that ended up giving me superpowers.
Thanks to said superpowers, I've been dragged into all sorts of horrible situations, the latest of which involves a masked thief who wanted revenge against me for killing a friend of his.
...but not it seems that HE'S dead too. I can't say that I'm sorry for that, either.

Making a Not!Japanese samurai type for a game? Look for edo or sengoku era names and tweak them a bit to fit the setting.
Making a Not!Viking Fighter or Barabarian type for a game? Look up one Norse and Viking names and tweak them a bit to fit the setting.
It is straight up one of the easiest parts of character creation for me.

The first one is a fighter attack with the keyword invigorating, that allow the fighter to get temporary health points when hitting a creature with hit
The second one is a rogue attack with the rattling keyword
It allow the rogue to get bonuses against the enemy based on an intimidation roll, if I remember well
It also can be used melee or ranged and use a dexterity roll instead of the normal strength roll of melee attacks
The last one also use dexterity for the attack roll but target the reflex defense of the target, a defense that is most of the time lower than AC
Yes, 4e is full of unique and diverse power, you just need to actually read them.

Shinobi Quest #4
This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.
(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Last thread, our character Tsuki Norihime woke bright and early to attend her first day of training under her new sensei. After swiping breakfast, she attended said training, and took part in Ebisu’s version of the bell test, where the team was subjected to an audio genjutsu they hadn’t been prepared for. Being the only member of Team 7 to break the genjutsu unaided, a poorly timed slap awoke some sort of beast within Nori. Everything went according to plan, however, as she was able to time taking a hit in such a way to not only distract Nori, but grab the bells as well.
A very successful day, in which she celebrated by shopping with Hinata.

Now, we move forward in time, to the next day. Having accepted Danzo’s offers for more training, and Ebisu-sensei not asking you to report in, it would be a good time to take him up on that offer…

“Tsuki-dono! It’s morning! Your breakfast is waiting!” a voice commands, cutting through the morning haze of your mind. Maru, most likely.
“I’ll be down… in a bit, Maru.” you grumble. While you’d been able to sleep in, you felt like a stone buried in the fluff of your mattress. Rubbing your midsection, you wince. While the medical-nin had healed any damage to your body, you were still sore from Nori’s hit. Probably would be for a while, too. Thinking back, you can’t help but thinking how weird that whole situation was- although you suspect you’ll find out what it was all about, eventually.
Rising slowly, you shuffle over to your armoire, and take the time to choose an outfit for the day. Style was important, of course, but you knew you’d be training today, and you suspected Danzo’s training wouldn’t be any easier than taking another one of that barbaric girl’s punches.
After dressing, you do a few stretches. Finally, you do your hair, spending the time to organize your teal locks into the signature drill curls you preferred. Looking at yourself in the mirror, seeing the amber eyes you share with your father, you smile. A statuesque picture of perfection!
You decide to….
1. Take your time with breakfast. You owe Maru after yesterday’s hit and run.
2. Opt for a quick breakfast. Don’t want to keep the old man waiting too long!
3. Skip breakfast entirely- you aren’t hungry. Training is paramount!

Ok, I know conventional wisdom says to magnetize Crisis Suits. If I do, that shit's gonna hold me up and I'm gonna lose interest and not finish them. So while I'm making them more for the modeling aspect, I still might want em in a game, so I want to make them into something usable.
Are Crisis Suits with 2 plasma rifles each pretty viable? If it helps, they'll be running in an army with lots of stealth suits and a Ghostkeel or two.

Last time, things happened to someone else. Someone other than you. You, meanwhile, have been able to relax, take in the artificial sunlight, and enjoy the beach with the girls. Right now, Karen is constructing a truly titanic and elaborate sand castle, sculpting little gargoyles to go on the turrets. Fatima is with you today, also playing in the surf, her usual headscarf gone. Samantha had things to do, but promised she'd show up.
You would be in a wonderful mood if it weren't for the fact that you're taking a conference call on your PC, the little holograms of Miles and Oda explaining what just happened, where Mohammed is, and that the Master Harpy Dervish is partially disassembled on board a UJCIDF vessel.
"So, you challenged him to a duel..." You start.
"Hai, taishou-sama!" Oda replies, chipper as a beaver.
"Rudolph Merrow's son, in the King Swordfish." You have to admit you kind of want the King Swordfish in the Rhinehawk's mech bay.
"Hai hai!"
"And you wagered that if he lost, we take him and his mech hostage, and if he won he gets Mohammed and the Master Harpy Dervish, and he willingly agreed?" You ask.
"We all saw it." Miles chips in, "Genius, isn't it? No matter the outcome, we'll know what's going on." You can't just blindly trust her judgment on that, she's Miles, a tiny ball of greed and bad temper.

"And he then insisted on fighting the duel himself." You pause to consider, momentarily, how much damage to a larger mech the Master Harpy's beam katars could do. It could probably sever them quickly, but it's still a fragile machine compared to the Knuckle Kaiser or even the Osano-Wo.

"And then Mohammed lost..." You continue, rubbing your forehead.
"Yep! We'll never stop bullying him for that. It was almost close, they're both kids and I think Mo could have chopped off one of his arms if that big striper hadn't been a lot more agile than we thought." Miles nods cheerfully.
You see Samantha walking down the steps towards the beach in the distance, a towel in her hands and a very frilly black-and-white bikini keeping her covered.
You take a deep breath, marshal your thoughts, and respond, "You..."

Depends on what you call average skill. It takes a good roleplayer to play a mental illness of any kind and not have it just being a dumb gimmick but it isn't unsurmountable.
The problem is more about knowing what the mental illnesses do. Especially since correcting someone downplaying say schizophrenia to hearing voices, while right, is hurting the flow of the game just like ruleslawyering.
It is also capital to understand that some mental illnesses are pretty much shit for making intresting characters. (ie emotionally detached people wich is just an excuse for bad roleplaying).

Fact: I think tanks are really cool; mechanized land vehicles in general
Query: Why would a world prioritize tanks?
Solution: It got blasted to hell and back. The super-thin atmosphere makes flight neigh-impossible and that, combined with the fallout, means that travel is best done in rolling micro-fortresses and armored haz suits.
Query: Could one make an RPG where the Players are the crew of some semi-futuristic tank fun? Would being in the tank with one person driving, one shooting, one doing engineering stuff, etc, not get boring after a while? Sure they'd get out of the tank every so often, but in-tank action would be notably restricted, even if it was some super-tank with multiple turrets or what have you.

Two paths come to mind, both of which aren't mutually exclusive:
>A) The tank is a Land Oil Rig/Land Motherbase
As if it was the biggest marine oil platform, the tank is a CITY, and you can do whatever you can do with humans in a city. The tanks moves, defends itself and can aquire its own resources because it's big enough to house a MANUFACTORIA of its own. Mining facilities, control centers, and it has as many machineshops as the body has lymphatic nodes.
It even has rival clans that fight for the control of the tank's subsystems:
You could have ordnance-gangs that fight for the control of the turret sector, who use shotguns and submachineguns as to not damage the behemoth's sacred interior
>B) Megapredators
Akin to 40k knights, the tank was designed to combat the myriad of megapredators the planet has, besides the fact that the very air (or lack of it) is death. As such, not only do the players explore the world using the tank as a transport, but the tank itself becomes a character AGAINST the world, with the players being parts of it like your arms and legs are.
Think of it as "A Megazord is you, The Game"
