Shinobi Quest #9
This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.
(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime kept her word, and began to help others begin the healing process, as well as making some bold proclamations.
“Well, I’m setting a goal for you right now, then Hinata.” you say standing up.
“W-what’s that?” she inquires.
“You’re going to beat Neji Hyuuga.” you say, flashing her a winning smile……
The young girl stares back at you, mouth agape.
“Beat Neji….?” she finally mumbles, regaining her composure.
“This is what I’m talking about Hinata! I don’t think you’re truly going to believe in yourself until take wipe that smug grin off of his face!” you exclaim.
“.....I guess…. You’ll help me, right? Train for it, I mean.” she finally answers.
You…
1. Promise Hinata you’ll help her beat Neji
2. Explain that this is something she needs to accomplish on her own.
3. Be non-committal

I can't really see how she'd do it on her own yet. I'd say get her started then let her go on her own from there
“Put your new Lord on the line, I want to speak to her.”
Well this just got interesting.

Is there a tabletop game for simulating school life, i.e roleplaying as studants?

WoD can be pretty good for it. At least if you're going for some kind of Buffy-style urban fantasy game.
Which I hope you are, because "High School: the Game" sounds fucking terrible.
>>47585039
Any game set in modern times can have students in it, but i was indeed going for "high school: the game" sort of thing. afterall, "maid: the game" was pretty fun.

He probably wins all the initial battles, the planet has decent enough technology but it really isn't united or populous enough to deal with the Roman Empire. That being said, he doesn't have the men to hold a world, not even close.

That's why the Roman Empire relied on finding local nobility willing to bend the knee, pay the taxes, embrace the roman culture, and enroll new fighters, and put them in charge of the new conquered area.
>It's been like 40 fucking years and people are STILL arguing over what the bullshit means.
Has there even been a concrete way of explaining this to someone? Do you yourself even know?
Apparently WoTC think "Chaotic Evil" refers to Poker players which makes no sense at all. Most people are under the assumption that "Chaotic" means "I get to act like a wacky Redditor and ruin fun for everyone" and "Lawful" means you're a strict uptight overzealous Jehovah's Witness type regardless of what the latter half of your alignment is.
Then there's just good ol' simple "Good", "Evil" and "Neutral" which people forget are options at all because why choose them when "Chaotic" sounds fucking cool?
It's time to put this shit to rest and finally come up with sensible definitions of what this all means.
>>47570985
>It's time to put this shit to rest and finally come up with sensible definitions of what this all means.
No it's not. I like the ambiguity and would necessarily be dissatisfied with any clear and rigid delineation at the expense of vague guidelines. More examples might be good, though, so long as they are not taken to be absolute. I like the descriptions of how how Athasians of various alignments tend to distribute water.

>
It's time to put this shit to rest and finally just get rid of alignments once and for all.
FTFY
>>47570985
>Has there even been a concrete way of explaining this to someone? Do you yourself even know?
Yes and yes.
It's been explained countless times. All the alignments in D&D are objectively defined.
The only reason it gets confusing is because edgelords and philosophy majors who think they're clever try to complicate things with ridiculous scenarios.

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twelve year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.
>Rules
At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.
In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins
Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.
Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process
I hope everyone has fun.

Roshi's Training

Time for
>TRUE VIOLENCE.
Master Roshi began training with Goku and Krillin while you made breakfast and talked with Launch. Now that you've finally gone to join them, they are nowhere to be found.
You can't imagine that Master Roshi will be very happy about you missing training. You can make excuses (Launch isn't exactly an easy woman to deal with), but he'll know as well as you do that you could have gone and started training with them, you just chose not to.
You wonder what Master Roshi will say.
You wonder if he'll still train you.
You also think a bit about what Launch suggested; finding your own way and teaching yourself.
>A. Go to town and ask around about Master Roshi
>B. They'll have to come back eventually, wait here
>C. Take some time to consider training on your own
>D. Something else

Urban Barb 17/Urogue 3 may only get 42 Dex for +16 mod, so only +56 per hit, which does give you a 16 damage per hit deficit. Of course, this is offset by a significantly higher AC/Reflex/Initiative, and +1d6 sneak attack (which admittedly, a high level character will have little to no issue stacking up), plus another 1d6 from a power charrm leaves only a +9 damage per attack difference. And then having those rogue levels means you can dump the remaining extra feats into boosting your sneak attack dice even further up.

“Yeah, no shit,” Stack says. Griselda and Denise look over your shoulder at the tweet. Christie is… “I don’t blame her. Christie’s perfect through three weeks, they’re leading the entire Western League.” She folds her arms, pouting a bit at the thought of it. “To think a bunch of Unlimited junkies are getting the drop on us.”
“Hey, Kit says it’s too early to tell,” says Ingrid. “It’s like the first few months of baseball season. Anything can happen.” That is honestly the most optimistic thing you’ve ever heard Ingrid say. “Murphy’s Law applies to any kind of sport with this kind of structure. We’re not Single Elimination where flukes and accidents happen like in the JSF or the ITL.”
“Oui.” Josephina smiles happily. “I believe we will catch up.”
“Christie’s in our Division though,” says Stack. “We oughta get lucky.”
Ingrid smirk at Stack. “Wow, Stack, are you actually moping about something?”
“Whatever,” Stack mutters.
Griselda smiles at you. “Well, I’m optimistic at least. We can beat up on Washington this weekend and play catch up in the standings. Want me to drive you and Denise to work today?” she asks.

Use OOC and ask someone for help on how to play. People will almost always help you get a grip of the game if you're polite about it, just don't reveal too much in-round information in OOC.

What are some good names for space money other than credits?
>>47569618
"Plats", for platinum precious metal coins.
Platinum and platinum-based metals is relatively common in space compared to Earth, and unless you have an FTL banking system that works perfectly and can get everyone to agree to a single currency exchange (which we can't even do among JUST human beings mind you), then physical goods and precious metals might come back into play just because digital currency is impossible, unreliable, or worthless.

How does one decently and fairly determine a rare item's price value?
>>47550155
Personally I just check how much XP they have to level and use that as a basis since I use XP = GP rules.
>>47550321
Well, this has less to do with leveling and more for rare items with benefit.
I'm working on a post-apoc thing and if a character finds a Gasmask [+1 AC, +2 Poison Saves] what is a good way to determine it's monetary value? It's not some thing that can be bought from just anyone anywhere, thus isn't in the standard equipment/armor/weapon list I have.
Anybody have their hands on Strange Magic that'd be willing to share? I don't think it's in the trove.
