What unique vulgar slang does your setting have?
>>47611693
Knife ears - Elves
Half-legs, short drunks - Dwarves
Scorned - Half-men sires of Beastmen. Essentially like calling them "shunned" or "not wanted". Outcasts and non-citizens of the kingdom
>>47611693
Slough-skin for humans. A common kobold insult.
>>47611730
>knife ears
I'm surprised you're not calling dwarves "hammer-fists" or "iron-resolves."
Really though, was "fair-folk" too on-the-nose as a compliment, or did you not like calling elves the "ageless-ones" because it wasn't complimentary enough? You really had to go out of your way to compare the feature they're likely most proud of to items of great value, and somehow you think it's vulgar?
What's next? Going to try to insult them by calling them "Wind-runners" because they run so fast?
Has anyone had any experience with this? Worth getting?
>>47609636
Hi Cap
>>47609636
Probably pretty bad.
>>47609636
It's decent. Quite a lot better than MtG, and quite different from it. Not as unique as Netrunner.
>>47612393
Why would you make that assumption?
I've notice its cheaper to buy used models instead of from games workshop, but i'm unsure about the paint.
How do i go about stripping the paint?
Bendix 55 would make the deal.
>>47605642
Simple green or dettol for plastic. It's a fair bit of work though. Metal is super easy, can just use nail polish remover or similar
>>47605642
Pewter you can strip with almost anything and not worry about damaging the model, eg go straight for keytone, acetone, etc.
Plastics and resins can be affected by some chemicals.
It will take a long soak, easily a day or more, and still require serious scrubbing with a toothbrush, and you will get bullshit stuck in crevices and such. Sometimes it has to take an extra soak after scrubbing.
Simple green is what I use, though be warned it's not as harmless as the "environmentally friendly" marketing would imply.
"Goof off" paint remover I hear is a good one.
Well, /tg/? What does it say?

In progress Parenthood jump.
Show me you're failed Projects. Pic related my first time creating a new race.
So for those of you that jumped Overlord, took 42nd Supreme Being, and have read the LN/Manga a question:How did you deal with Albedo’s plan to eliminate all the other SB’s? Did you just assume that you were on her no-kill list because you stuck around? Did you end up letting Ainz know what she was planning?
What’d you do?
Do you subscribe to the pop-culture notion that female armor should be formed for their breasts, why/why not?
>>47726624
>Do you subscribe to the pop-culture notion that female armor should be formed for their breasts
If the armor is intended to be ceremonial yet still functional, then there's nothing wrong with it.
If the armor is intended to be 100% brute functional with no embellishments of any kind, then it's a little odd, but still not unreasonable.
Believe it or not, when your armor is made of extremely high-quality materials, having formed breasts on the plate doesn't reduce the effectiveness of the armor by much of a practical degree to matter, unless they're hyper-exaggerated.
Also, going by the enlarged cod pieces, armored ab muscles, and other embellishments men have added to armor over the years (on the more ceremonial pieces, albeit, but the fact remains) it's not unrealistic that a female warrior would glorify her own female form as men glorify the male form.
TL;DR It's really not that important unless your armor is shitty to begin with, and drawbacks only arise if the breasts are hyper-exaggerated to the point of ridiculouslness.
>>47726624
Depends. Directing blows to the sternum is stupid, but there's plenty of room for this in armor meant for ceremony or display. Say, for nobility, parade armor, or the surprising number of historical spells that used breast plates.
On the flip side, if being a warrior is abnormal or taboo for women, they'd likely prefer to look like a man. Consider exaggerated codpieces instead.

You are Kusajishi Riku, Captain of the Seireitei Court Guard’s Ninth Division, and the political and military situation in the spiritual realm of Western Europe seems to stand on the brink of disaster. In an attempt to produce Captain-level fighters the Valhallans have turned to science, creating what amount to living dolls who possess high levels of reiatsu. Predictably these dolls have turned against their creators for some yet-unspecified reason, and you’ve been asked to deal with the resulting rebellion.
More disturbingly, someone or something that looks exactly like Yoruichi has been seen killing large numbers of Valhallan soldiers. You know it can’t be her, but the semblance was uncanny and her power was adequate to kill a large number of Valhallans effortlessly, so regardless of who or what this imposter turns out to be it’s certainly not something you can ignore.
‘Your’ Yoruichi sighs wearily. “Hope this doesn’t get any more complicated.”
“It’s gonna,” you observe calmly.
Shunsui strokes his beard, weighing the options in his head. “We should rest. Captain Kusajishi here just got back from a fight, did she not? It would help to approach this well-rested and focused, otherwise we might miss important details we’d otherwise have picked up on.”
Even though you’re not one to ever rest willingly when you don’t absolutely have to, Shunsui may well have a point. With all the other problems weighing on your mind you can’t guarantee that you’d be able to give the present crisis in-the-making due consideration.
“I could eat,” Yoruichi admits, stretching her arms.
Well, that about settles it. If Yoruichi’s mind is set on food it’s best to take things slow the rest of the day and start fresh in the morning. You quickly communicate your need for accommodations to a military orderly, who leads you out into the street and up a flight of stairs into the building nextdoor to the Headquarters facility where you met your contact here.
>1/2
>>47726570
“Will you be needing three rooms?” the orderly asks. You shake your head.
“Two is fine,” you explain. “Won’t be the first time Captain Shihōin and have shared.”
“She used to be my Lieutenant, remember?” Yoruichi tells Shunsui, who’s given her a quizzical look. “It’s not weird that we’d have shared a room you know.”
“Don’t suppose you could convince my Lieutenant of that,” he grumbles.
You shake your head. “Doubtful. There’s a difference.”
“Is there really?”
“The difference is that my heart is pure,” you taunt your fellow Captain before going your separate ways.
The inside of your temporary quarters appear to be a civilian home, typically Western with old but not unappealing furnishings: you’d call them ‘classical’. Not what you've become used to over the last two centuries or so, too large and bulky for that. But it's still comfortable, in its own way.
More surprising is what you find on the table.
“Is that... venison?” Yoruichi asks, poking gingerly at the plate of food. Laid out on either side of each plate is a napkin, with an ornately-worked silver knife and fork, and by each is a crystal glass filled with deep, garnet-colored wine.
>Polite response is usually to eat it. And the vegetables. And the dumplings.

Can we stop with "reimagining" things?
>my elves are elves but x
>my dwarves are dwarves except y
>my trolls have no similarity at all to what any other human has ever thought of as a troll, but it's a troll
>etc
This isn't creative, it's lazy. I'm reminded of how Bioware was all our dwarves aren't the old white man writer dwarves, and the reality turned out to be that instead of stereotyping Scottish/Irish people, they stereotyped Jews. In doing this, you create a dissonance in your audience that's different from a straight subversion like Drow versus DnD Elves where the audience has to keep reminding themselves of whatever assorted distinctions that you have made, which is fucking annoying.
To be painfully clear, I'm not against taking something like the idea of "elf" then changing it up, especially in regard to fundamental aspects of the trope. I'm against doing this, then insisting it is still an elf. Give it a different name. Hell, look at the drow, as mentioned above. They're elves but in caves and evil (fuck this newer "drow are just black elves" stuff).
This distinction is small, but very important. It still allows you the ability to explain your idea of whatever in terms of the familiar because it doesn't try to redefine the familiar term that's being used to describe it.
And if you're constructing something entirely new, to slap a familiar name on it is just a way to garner further confusion.
The absolute worst of this is when you start going out into the world at large and calling for a change of the entire idea because you're bored with it (protip: characteristics of characters are never boring, it's what you do with the characters that's boring).
>tl;dr if you make fundamental changes to a widely known idea, fucking rename it.
You might think your idea is novel, but that's just the flow of the tide. Once you're sick of playing this song because it's gotten stale, you'll find yourself re-imagining things inadvertently and hating yourself for being a hypocrite.
Just do everything with moderation and with good taste. Everything else is just the ebb and flow of the tides.

Ok, what the hell happend to the Vasenica sector? Nothing has been worked on for weeks!
Anyway, here is a quick summary of the sector and what this thread is all about:
The Vasenica Sector is a sector in the Ultima Segmentum, a collaborative effort to make another unified /tg/ sector, in a more serious light than the Tiji Sector. It was a backwater sector of little value which came under assault from a coalition of races under the Tau Empire. A mixture of administrative delay and warp storms led to the sector being isolated from the greater Imperium for a century and dissolving into a complete clusterfuck.
The Vasenica sector is divided between six main power blocks: the Imperium, the Orks of Waaagh! Grimsnag, the human separatist Heraclian Confederacy, the Necron Ra'Thekt Dnasty, the Tau Empire, and a splinter fleet of Tyranids. The vast majority of the sector is contested space, between the major parties and more minor, isolated cults and exclaves.
So what I want out of this thread is simple writefaggotry and brainstorming, just to keep the Vasenica sector active
Also, here is the 1d4chan page for the sector

"Hey Jacky, what's your opinion on Tanks?
We want to develop Boom Tanks, tanks with the same firepower and capability as Long Range Artillery or Anti-Air heavy Flak guns. Each tank able to support each other despite being separated by distance or obstacles using telepathy to guide long range shots.
We're debating on the cost effectiveness of various designs.
We could focus on a medium tank that can be produced en masse and in greater numbers, allowing more of our population to become pilots and for us to field more tanks quickly and with fewer resources. It may also mean more firepower by number. We could focus of many tanks rolling toward the enemy. But this could mean more casualties.
Or we could focus on Heavy Tank and Super Tank design. We'd be able to make less of them for more resources, but they would be sturdier, able to resist damage, and carry bigger guns and payloads and a heavier shield. Rather than having them come in waves, they would form teams of well formed breakthrough tanks supported by even heavier designs. We hope this might mean less casualties."
---
I am reminded of the Brood Bandit civ where we had a very hard time fighting back the enemy Corps Heavy Tanks, and only did so due to the ferocity of our Brood and allies.
How would you run a campaign set in a fantasy version of the long earth universe.
What system and adjustments would you use?
Would you let all players be natural steppers or make it an option?
how would you run combat with players or enemies that can step in combat?
>>47694059
I would use gurps
Very useful for adapting a setting
>>47694059
It's probably better if everyone uses the potato box steppers instead of being natural steppers, more opportunities for DM shenanigans on my part.
Red pill me on this book. What's it about? What's the main takeaway from it?

Is the Gladiator-Executioner Omnimech seen all that often in Clan forces?
It came as a shock to me this thing even existed (didn't notice in detail till I read the Periphery Handbook) as the Dashi is what I'm used to seeing when it comes to Clan Assault Mechs.
