I've been creating a simple post-apocalyptic OSR. So mostly been writing that, but haven't run anything yet.

Hey OSR, I'm preparing a sandbox and have been musing about DW's fronts for a while.
I'm thinking of stealing the idea to have some sort of organisational tool for developing factions and dangers on both a local and global scale.

Question is, does anyone know anything similar?
I want to see different takes on the idea that may help.

Fronts are general to a lot of the Powered by the Apocalypse games, so looking at others ones might help, in giving you other implementations of the same basic idea. In particular, I'd look at Apocalypse World and Sagas of the Icelanders to compare and contrast.

I definitely like the idea of using them in an OSR game. It's one of those things that really works nicely when adapted to other games.

So I've got an upcoming game here this weekend; what does gurps General think of my "Desperado with a heart of gold"?

How would you handle a meta-trait being universal among a setting? Like say for example, EVERYONE is a robot, and would normally have the Machine meta-trait. Do you just apply the meta-trait to literally everyone, or is there a better way to do this?

Actually that doesn't necessarily matter. There are copyright laws in various countries that state if you fail to challenge copyright infringement then you're effectively giving it up. That's why big companies will go after even small shitty ones if their copyright is infringed. If you started to try to sell a Star Wars RPG out of your garage then Disney would be up your ass even if you only had a few hundred dollars to your name.

I think you are over concerned about "tipping fedoras".
At the very least I don't see any reason to apply special rules to a BBEG from the clergy that do not also apply to a normal BBEG.

Been in the same position, we all started with family herlooms. I got a horse and a cart +full plate armor while the other got some kind of magical things like a weapon, potions or scrolls. We where 2 fighters in the party (AD&D 1e) where i got normal but expensive armor while the other got +2 Great-sword, (we played dragon lance so a full plate armor was as rare as a +2 sword and tha other fighter only had chainmail).

5 Sessions in a troll had eaten my horse, my cart had to been stolen and my plate armor had been damaged/destroyed because of a crit.

Awful. I love to write, but I'm horribly fickle. I have a lot of neat ideas, and I generally understand how to write a short story, but I'm never going to write an entire novel that isn't a pretentious pile of crap.

The above ground energy sources aren't really feasible yet, so we'll just have to make due.

Build more Wind and Solar generators in all our bases, dam up some nearby rivers if we can and get some hydro power.

JAL, I'm betting your as good at digging as you are at building above ground.

Can you reach with your long and metallic tendrils down into the earth and start gathering fuel? Or better still find a heat spike and we can get geothermal. Just avoid upsetting anything your brood can't handle.

I really think Reaper had they own system but no one talks about it like, ever. Also to talk about other less know skirmish fantasy games like Freeboter Fate, Wrath of Kings, Song of blade and heroes (and his merry companions) or old and dead games like the Rackham ones, helldorado or whatever you guys love. Post your warbands or whatever minis tick your fancy both new or old school.

warlord (reapers game) is a decent game, but the only place in the world where you are going to find players is at the reaper game store in texas.

I currently just bought SoBaH and am liking what im reading. Seems like a good game to intro to people about tabletop wargaming.

With the expansions you can do pretty things, Song of Deeds and glory for campaigns gives you a very mordheim aproach for example, if pick up games aren't you thing. I'm reading Of Gods and Mortals right now, from Osprey, than is a very Dominions like game (merry bands of a God, some heroes/monsters and they jolly mortals than end used as chaff), it also use the same system than SoBaH and use a somewhat bigger aproach with units and stuff (so instead of 5-10 minis per side it's 15+), for what I'm reading is pretty good. Both have they warband builders so it's extra fun to diddly with it to make your thematic armies.
