So I was hoping to get into this system and I haven't been having a lot of luck finding a community or titles or much of anything.

Are they just kind of walled off from the rest of the internet? Did the MMO going full micro transaction scatter the community? Is it because the name's tricky to search?

Also if any players are here; what supplements do you recommend?

This will always make me chuckle.
>>

Why?
>>
I think the problem is that the system is relatively unknown, and thanks to Champions Online, will probably only be known as just another MMO.

Start making more threads about it. If this one falls off the board, try again. Get some books, read them, run a game with people off the gamefinder thread. You can probably find the books in a torrent somewhere. Build some interest around a system people probably only have a passing notice of if they care about MMOs.

Want to see a community grow? It has to start somewhere.

Where the hell do I go to talk about Theater on 4chan? It lies somewhere between /lit/, /tv/, /mu/, and even a little of /tg/ (considering the notion of playing roles).

Not here, we usually don't play for a large audience.

I'd go with /tv/ personally. Just be careful when posting anything that involves child actors, /tv/ is 3dpd loving freaks.

The mechanics, though the setting lends itself well to a tabletop RPG in my opinion.

Please /tg/, tell me all you know about Viking sailing and ships!
What were their ranks called? What did they carry to eat? What was the mark of a good ship? What was ship-to-ship combat like? Anything you can tell me would be appreciated!

I'm writing a Early Middle Age/Viking Age style setting, though with magical flying ships. The flying ships obviously feature heavily, so I want as much inspiration material as possible!

Thanks, /tg/!

(Any information about other ships of the age, if they differed, would also be appreciated!)

Viking ranks in society was decided by bloodlines, but as far as I know they didn't have any particular ranks on their individual ships except Rower and perhaps a captain of sorts.
If possible they would eat salted pork or usually fish. They could also dry and salt their fish or smoke it to make it last.
A good ship was any ship that was light enough to be put on a cart, does not stick too deep into the water and that can easily be pulled up onto a beach. Part of what made the vikings effective was that they didn't rely on harbours and could easily show up on some random beach or through some river without warning and disappearing before any army could be gathered to fight them.
Ship-to-ship combat was rare. I imagine they would fire a couple of arrows at eachother, but the ships are too light to be effective rams and there is no loot to be had from fighting people at sea.
>>
>>48042504

Actually your suppositions on viking naval warfare are untrue, the way they did it was no where near that logical. The core of their naval fighting method was not bows and arrows. Unable to properly use their ships as rams, the vikings would lash several together and THEN ram the other guy, not as an attempted ram, but to get close enough to turn it into a melee. Viking naval warfare consisted of attempting to make it into just plain warfare.

I'm not shitting you, or memeing vikings as warrior race guys, they seriously did that.
>>
>>48042544
I do remember hearing something like that. It makes sense as the thing of value here is the enemy ship and equipment, and they wouldn't want to sink that.

so I got Pic Related given to me. I've only just gotten into 40K and I'm building a Chaos Marines army.. Are there any rules to allow using this kind of unit in 40k? Like being summoned by a Chaos Sorcerer or something of that effect?

He's Be'lakor and one of the best model ever made by GW (surely their best demon).
You could use it for a Demon Prince, since he technically* is.

*By "technically I mean he's the first and greatest of all Demon princes
>>
>>48042087
so what makes him so amazing other than that he's the first demon prince?

And if I 'technically' use him is that kosher with the "official" GW rules?

I've been recently forced by democracy into running an anime-themed game. My initial idea is to have PCs and NPCs be famous anime characters divorced from their home settings and transplanted into a fantasy setting. Lelouch ve Britannia is rallying bandits for an uprising, while Spike Spiegel has a contract to capture the PCs for General Gendo Ikari's program, etc.
That being said, what is the best way to simulate a wide variety of anime characters? Pic Related is an obvious choice, but point buy systems tend to have terrible balance and end up with either watered down characters or characters that differ wildly in ability- worse than martials vs. arcanes.
Should I bite the bullet and embrace the unbalanced nature and fluctuating power levels inherent to the source material, or should I force the characters into Pathfinder-shaped molds?

Isn't that the same thing?

Not exactly. Pathfinder gets powerful, but it doesn't allow a character to buy a 10-storey fighting mech ala' Escaflowne.

What would be their advantages and disadvantages?

Who are they buffing exactly?
Bards don't have that much of an attack power.
I don't say they can't seize your average medfan village, but how would they stand against a professionnal army?

>Bards don't have that much of an attack power.
Says who exactly? Besides, class mixing.
>>
>>48040372
Advantage: Unrelenting battlefield control. Most armies can't maintain their formation against such a foe, and their clean-up is impeccable, since they remain in perfect harmony throughout it without devolving into a melee.

Disadvantage: Bards lack Evasion, so one good creeping barrage could wipe them all out.

New M/tg/ fag here. Recently got into mtg and even more recently started reading the lore that comes with each set. I was wondering if any of you guys know where I can find a pdf of the older books that used to be put out like related or if there's a compiled source that I could use to read all of the stories.

People say that they're shit books, but I thought they were fun and they sure as shit better than the lore we get now

Alright, so the ones I have are the weatherlight saga from start to finish, odyssey book 1 and 2 and also Ravnica cycle.
If anyone else has any of the other cycles as pdfs please post them, I've been looking for the kamigawa cycle for a long time.

I'll start with the weatherlight saga, 1st up is the brothers war, which gives an intro to Urza, the best planeswalker, and why he hates phyrexia(I think, it's been a while).

Unconscious means "yes" edition

Last thread reached bump limit. Somebody should upload the pastebin.

So I have a bit of a problem player. Last session I had a group of minotaurs in a rape orgy with some half-fae catbois, you know fairly standard encounter, and when it comes to his turn I ask him what he wants to do and he just says "I leave them to their business." I asked him if he was sure and he looked me dead in the eye and said he was.

This threw me for a loop, let me tell you. I mean, there aren't really people who wouldn't engage in a brutal murder/rape orgy with catbois are there?
>>
>>48040095
Typical. You take them from their vidya ttrpg and throw them to a reaistic historical mythical game and they don't know that the fuck to do.

Just Make an NPC control his mind or throw them a libido or erection spell. Don't even bother trying to explain him what true roleplaying is about.
