You open your eyes, groaning in a bit of phantom pain. Last night was mostly spent on your riding lessons with Carolina Greene. She was surprisingly understanding about the whole “never having ridden a horse before” thing. But still, your butt hurt from Lang’s bucking around and movement. Even with the saddle on, it was a nightmare.
But hey, you know how to ride a horse! Yeah, fuck yeah…
You open your eyes further. Nope, you’re not in your room, you’re in the stable that the George Washington girls built for you (surprisingly quickly and efficiently.) It was a little ways down the road from the Tankery HQ, and currently only housing Lang.
Ugh, the smell. You turn your head to see the straw you were lying on. You must have fell asleep and they just left you. Fine, forget about it. Maybe-
You look down to see Denise sleeping on you, her face buried in your breasts. She purrs gently, clutching you like a teddy bear. Uh… “Denise,” you call. She smiles, further cozying up into your chest. “Denise. Get off.” She opens her eyes, squeaking a bit at being woken up. She yawns, sitting up and throwing her arms up in a stretch.
“Auugh! Sorry, Elodie!” She rubs her eyes, a bit tired. She immediately plops her face between your breasts again. “Aaaah.” Your eyebrow twitches. “So, do you need me to drive you to work today?”

Welcome everyone, new and old players alike! This is Tundra civ, a civ thread series in which we've gone from stone age farmers in the tundra to space explorers!
You play as the rulers of the White Republic, one of the human nations from the planet Terra Nova.
Previously on Tundra civ:
Terra Nova's four space-colonising alliances have started spreading out into nearby star systems. We're currently terraforming the nearby red planet, Argosa II, while settlement continues on the forest planet Juniper I.
The four alliances met in Kayans and set upon a system of rules - whoever first settles a planet or moon gets to keep all rights to it. Space colonization is expensive and we've only been doing it for 7 years now, so our current strategy is to survey promising systems and focus on claiming the most suitable planets first.
>Population:253 000 000 (84% white, 12 % chink, 2%darkskin,2% pacharnati)

4th for Ushoran a best.
Your party has made it's way to the BBEG's lair/throne/castle/mcguffin.
You confront the evil mastermind/monster/ruler/mcguffin, and initiate a bloody brawl.
As you roll to hit, you score a Nat 20. You confirm the crit. What one-liner does your character throw out, /tg/?

Is it better to be a Paladin or a Fighter in DnD 5e?
I just want to wreck shit every day.
>>48071088
Id give Mordred a brojob. For sure
>>48071088
The only correct answer is both. Paladin can only be improved by a 2 level Fighter dip.
>>48071088
Both are good, but fighter is all about the damage. Battlemaster adds tactics while champion provides delicious crits.
When was the last time your PC got fucked because you made a decision in-character?

At the Scholomance, it's a requirement.

What if it's a self taught Lich that wants to go back for his diploma, just like mama wanted before she died due to plague?
Now, I know it's not the most popular opinion, but what if these are actually the good guys?
Hear me out.
>care only for humanity, liable to hate and purge xenos far more than Imperial forces do. Just look at how they've taken the fight to the Eldar while most Imperium forces just ignore the threat.
>Adapted to survive and thrive in an environment that is anathema to most xenos
>able to channel this environment to fight these xenos even better than Imperial forces
>some are even immune to chemical weapons, making those weapons perfect for use against xenos
>zero concern for their people defecting and joining xenos, they're too loyal for that
>don't go and murder entire planets of their own people on matters of "faith"
>zero corruption. Seriously, how often do you hear a warband that was skimming off the top of tax revenue?
Now, I know you all are just going to spam "heresy" memes at me and ignore the discussion we could be having over this, but I'd like to lodge my point. Nail it up on the church doors so to speak. I think it would do us all good to sit down and talk as much as we like about how these guys really aren't that bad.

They kill innocent people. Next.
>>48067514
So does the Inquisition.
>Dragons are now attracted to old people
>They regularly kidnap them to be never seen again
How does this affect your setting, /tg/?
>>48065523
Define "old": Age or physical look?
Because considering how there can be critters that are thousands of years old without showing any sign of aging...
>>48065523
Everyone just sorta assumes the dragons are eating them. Most people wont work after 30 because any older and there's no retirement to enjoy. Without old people valuable skills are never passed on and technology stagnates. The few master craftsmen left are those born as prodigies, there isn't enough time for people to work their way up to that level anymore.
>>48065523
It doesn't because there are no dragons because I'm not playing fucking D&D.
Who are your favourite villains / what ideas do you have for cool villains?
I fucking hate these charts. It's some guy trying to push his tastes on others.
>Supreme Ultimate God Tier SSS+
>Villains who are in it for the money, or whose primary motivation is money.

>>48064605
All of those can be good under the Right circumstances.
Apart from D&D, what are some must-have RPGs that a well-rounded roleplayer should play - or at least read - to have a good understanding of the world of RPGs?
In other words, what games would you include in a "RPGs 101" college course?

Tokyo Nova is a cyberpunk action game set in the far future after cataclysms known as the "Hazards" put the Earth into a new ice age. It's set in Tokyo Nova, which is said to be a modern day Dejima, in that it is the only city (megaplex) on the continent of Japan that non-Japanese people are allowed access to. You can play lots of things in this setting, like a Vasara who has magical abilities, a Katana who can slice mecha in half, or a mutant who lives on the outskirts of society yet possesses amazing powers. Or all three, as the system lets you pick (up to) three different "styles" to fill out your character.
System is played with cards. You get a hand of four playing cards (just normal poker cards), and when you're called upon to make a check, you need to play a card with a suit matching what is "valid" for that skill. Your abilities can be combo'd into one another, quite like DoubleCross if you've played it. So if you have an ability that allows you to add your Degree of Success to your damage, and an ability that lets you expand the attack to a whole area, you can use both at the same time (with some stipulations.)
Finally, every Style has a Miracle, or Kamiwaza. These are super high powered abilities. For instance, Katana has Danse Macabre. When you declare the use of it, you can kill anybody, instantly, with no check needed. However, enemies have Miracles too, and many of them are as defensive as Danse Macabre is offensive.
This looks like pretty interesting stuff, thanks OP!

Oh quit being a jerk and learn to be excellent instead.
So recently I read this article.
http://thealexandrian.net/wordpress/587/roleplaying-games/dd-calibrating-your-expectations-2
TL;DR: It explains how 5th level characters are actually individuals who are at the peak of human ability and how the expectations of the system actual model real world conventions (though he does explain that 3.5 is still a flawed system).
Anyways, this got me thinking, if 5th level adventurers are the peak of what humanity is capable of, then does that mean that 5th level mages are rare enough that the world wouldn't have any real ways of dealing with them?
Like, would the king have anti-magic protection if the most a mage is capable of in the eyes of commoners is cheap parlor tricks and a magic missile?
Would someone capable of maintaining these AMF's even bother serving under such nobility when they're already more powerful than the bulk of the population?
Also, would that mean that anyone with enough ranks in a skill would be comparable to the gods?Assume 3.PF for this discussion.
>(though he does explain that 3.5 is still a flawed system).
Sorry, don't care about the rest of your post, because you've implied there's a perfect system and I want to know what it is.
>>48073785
Calm down chief.
This isn't another "hurr, 3.PF is bad" thread, I'm genuinely asking a question on how the world would deal with people who are level 6 and beyond when level 5 is assumed to be the cutoff for what most people are capable of.
>>48073785
Did you honestly just show up in this thread just because someone claimed that 3.PF wasn't perfect?
Christ alive, you'd think that 3.PFags like you would get used to it considering where we are, especially when the topic wasn't about edition wars faggotry in the first place.
