B/G Delirium looks interesting, especially those creatures that becomes bigger when delirium is activated. But I guess all the cool kids play Bant CoCo or G/W Tokens.
Is anyone here into really cheese-tastic cliche 70s/80s power fantasy RPG trappings? Like Fighting Fantasy books, the covers of Infocom games and CYOA books, basically cheesy stuff influenced by LOTR and heavy metal album covers. I don't know why I like this shit so much. Gonna dump some cheesy stuff.
I JUST OPENED A BETA EDITION BOOSTER PACK AND GOT A MOX SAPPHIRE TRIPS AND I BURN IT
>>48141061
First off; prove it
Second, don't burn it, just rub your dick all over it and then sell it online
>>48141073
>some rando pulls the mox delicately out of it's package
>fresh and crisp, he smells it
>rubs his face on one of the most powerful artifacts ever to exist that he now owns
>starts to jerk off to this

What's so powerful about this? It looks like a basic island that is not a land card.
Does anyone have any advice on making a solar in exalted?
I've been told there are a lot of traps in the character creation system because the points you start out with are worth more then xp later in the game, but this doesn't make sense to me.
Can someone elaborate/show examples?
>>48140946
most of the exalted artwork sucks but i like that picture
>>48140946
Edition?
Also Solars are the easiest to make.
Alright. My local games workshop store is almost all tau players with a single chaos player.
Myself and a friend are imperial guard and we've got a militarum tempestus player that may be joining us.
Could we win fighting three different tau players?

Almost all tau players. Must be rather boring tau fightin each other.
Can you win. yes, definitly.
Will it be hard. Maybe.
If the tau lists are too strong, ask them to tone it down, it should be in their interest to have not-tau on the tables.you can always remodel your Imperial Guard into Gue'lla Guard for the Tau Empire
play a milita and cults list from 30k or a solar aux list use arvus landers rather than chimeras and just keep moving. you will win.
I was trying to find a suitable system to run a MH game, ifound a D&D5 module on lelditt but it's not what i'm looking for.
What i want is a game much closer to the videogame, i have a couple of ideas on how to deal with carving, crafting and upgrading making it pretty much like the game only easier (to take out grinding since that could result in boring sessions without a real feel of progression by the players).
Classes will be based on the weapon one intends to use the most with a tiered system of abilities (something like the SW rpgs from FFG) with the possibility to multiclass in other weapon trees.
I've yet to decide what to do with the combat system and it's the biggest part of the game so i'm kind of on hold because of that.
What do?
Strike! has a pretty simple combat system; you can just make the weapon the class/role of the character (or tie one of it to the character, or have only feats tied to the character... lots of options there), have better materials for crafting act as leveling up in the weapon's class. It even has ideas for "elemental wheel" kind of stuff.
Even if you don't take anything else from it, it's worth a look.
>>48139858
interested on how you can capture the Mh feel in RP, MH is a pretty combat based game and i wonder how well that would translate into a pen and paper - considering sitting and saying "i hit the rathalos with my weapon" for 30 odd turns would get very boring
>>48140844
Exactly why a good combat system is important.
But yeah, you'll probably want something interesting to happen aside from Monster Hunting. If not saving the world just one-upping the other guild.

MTG ban list predictions for July 18th?
>>48139828
What I hope happens: Stoneforge Mystic unbanned in Modern, no other changes to any format.
What aggrobabies hope will happen: Nahiri, the Harbinger banned in Modern, Terminus banned in Legacy.
What will actually happen: No changes to any format
>>48139871
>implying aggrobabies give a fuck about Legacy
>>48139871
Banning Nahiri is something I could see happening. WoTC wants Modern to be a creature format, and just like Twin, Nahiri is a card that ruins aggrobabies' "fun". In other words, as far as WoTC is concerned, the card can burn in a pile of Splinter Twins
So I was reading Codex: Inquisition and it mentions Ordo Xenos Inquisitors infiltrating alien societies to soften them up for invasion.
How would you best run a campaign where players are infiltrating an alien society to help the inevitable extermination?
Any ideas would be helpful, I'm trying to run something interesting for Dark Heresy. Mostly I'm trying to figure out how to make the aliens sympathetic without being heavyhanded, and how to best make the PCs basically feel like space invaders.
>>48139766
The only place I can think of where that would work is in a Tau controlled world or outpost.
>>48139805
More likely some minor xenos that don't know about the Imperium or the wider galaxy and are basically restricted to one system.
>>48139902
More what I was going for.
We always have threads about how aliens would react to us, or just what we wish aliens would say about us.
We almost never touch on what our society's reaction to alien cultures could be. Especially things we would consider abhorrent.
Like say we meet a friendly alien species who, for procreaton, have to brutally rape their females. Like, consensual sex absolutely will not result in a pregnancy, and neither gender derives pleasure from the act. Both the males and females of their species don't see anything wrong with it, but most of Earth obviously does.
What would we try to do? Would we have any right to do anything?
Things like that, and things not like that.
>>48138095
I believe our reaction would be "Fuck off space niggers, we're full" Accompanied with an image of our finest alien pepe
First off, please don't let this be magical realm.
Secondly, what if they don't reproduce via sexual reproduction?
Thirdly, in all honesty, I think aliens can be broken down into several categories, based on "how" alien and strange they are.
Familiar: For the most part, they think in similar ways to us. They have similar values or their analogues, and can be treated as an exceedingly exotic culture, but nothing too strange.
Strange: Communication is possible, but there are several core differences in the process of thought between our two species; diplomatic or cultural exchange is difficult, and possibly not wanted by either party.
Maximally Strange: Communication is possible, but they are as inhuman as possible; communication can be posed in terms of concrete terms or extremely simple abstract concepts, but otherwise their biology and way of thought is so inhuman that they could not hope to understand our abstract values beyond cause and effect, and likewise us to theirs.
Absolutely Strange: Communication is not possible. They are recognizably sapient, but can otherwise be considered to be a part of nature. Mutual coexistence may be possible, but it will always be via circumstance, not by agreement.
We are just going to pirate their movies, vidya, and RPGs.
They will most likely do the same.
It will be an endless circle.
/tg/ you can use my lighthouse, but first you must listen to my tale
>be me, be playing mutants and masterminds campaign with homebrew mass effect/cowboy bebop/firefly setting
>my char is a genetically modified super soldier who works for the universal gov
>my partner in crime is a speedster lizard man from another universe with a basic grasp of our language named Cam Eleone
>one day we get jumped by a bunch of assholes whom we dispatch with haste
>one said asshole we leave alive
>torturetime.jpeg
>begin to torture and interrogate
>splinters under the nails, water-boarding, the whole 9
>after about an hour of torture/interrogation guy still won't crack
>torture guy finally yells out after about an hour of torture with no words
>"we are infinite, we are eternal, and we cannot be defeated!"
>cam hears and scampers off to different room
>I brush this off and continue taking it to torture town
>couple minutes later cam shows up with giant hammer
>before I can ask what hes doing he smashes one of the table guy's feet with it
>smashes the other foot
>proceeds to pulverize feet into mush
>looks at my char who's standing in shock and says nonchalantly "they can be de-feeted"

Sounds like a fucking mess.
QUESTION PAINTERS.
I'm working on my daemonettes for Fantasy, and I'm going with a spider/drider themed Slaaneshi force.
The issue is, I'm torn on what the skin color should be. I wanted to do a grey-blue/purple for the dark elf theme, but I'm using red and black for the pieces of armor. What do you guys think I should do? Paint it blue/purple, or just paint it black?
That seems like a very dark colour scheme in general.
A pinkish purple

40k lore says I'm supposed to want to fuck that thing?
No.
Hey /tg/. I've been bouncing around ideas for a WW1 themed Dieselpunk campaign, and I am struck by a dilemma of aesthetics. What do you fine folks imagine to be the most appealing method of propulsion for them? Just massive arrays of propellers whose efficacy is justified by some strange flub of the universe, or some sort of weird thematically styled scifi tech? Is the thematic aesthetic worth sacrificing for some semblance of sense?
Also, dieselpunk pics.
What's a good, flexible, pick up n' play game that's got one central mechanic that covers like 99% of actions and isn't class-based?
I don't need it to be deep, but I'd like it to be broad and easily modified.
Something that'd be as easy to introduce to a group as it would be to modify.
>>48136112
To clarify I am looking for an RPG; realized I said game instead of system.
