I don't get it. There seems to be demons in warhammer fantasy, but no angels. How can you have heaven vs hell if there are no angels?
>>48148092
That's the point mate.
Also not every setting has to conform to your standards.
>>48148092
What are Stormcast Eternals?
>>48148092
Sigmar's Stormcast Eternals are the setting's equivalent to angels.
How can you create a martial character without any reliance on magic or magic items in a magic heavy setting?
Is it possible?
The only two possibilities that I can think of are either a personal anti-magic field (which is kind of exceptional in most settings) or pic-related.
Thoughts?
I shouldn't need to add this but just in case, I meant "create an effective character."
Try playing something other than 3.5

Why not make one whose supernatural powers are less flashy, but make him better at fucking people up?

Are there any good games that I can play with only one GM and one player without it being an absolute hindrance?
Most of the games I've found are tailored around groups so they aren't exactly balanced for a solo campaign, and I want to make a one-shot or short campaign for a friend of mine.
Anything's good, but we'd prefer it if it was either fantasy, cyberpunk or supernatural a la darkest dungeon or vampire.

In the last thread we talked about how some people don't play this game because they want to play later founding successor chapters and what will be the BaC successor, debate on who's the most versatile legion along with if "adaptability" just means copying another legion happened, talk on who should have been Warmaster who owns the thrones of cheese was also made, some Anons made RoWs after DA talk and just how many RoWs they might be getting came up, and it's better to be a proud Space Corgi than a Space Yiff plus more in the last thread >>48134981

Very well lord. I'll make a note of that was well.
Can you help me find a game from my memory, please? One thing I remember about it was that it was post-apo and there was no skill in techhnology as such, but rather techno-shamanism in the vein of adeptus mechanicus, where science was so forgotten, that some people just knew what should work how by hearsay and educated guesses. I really liked the concept, I just can't remember what game it appeared in.
>>48145787
You're gonna need to give us a little more, OP
>>48145787
Sounds kind of like Numenera. (and possibly other settings as well, if you remember anything more)
>>48147131
sorry, I really dont remember much more besides this little bit. Just that vivid description of people working tech by the word of elders, and what little context of the machine's work they understood, like tech-shamanism
>>48147708
Certainly not numenera, the setting was after modern-ish tech levels, but thanks
Congratulations! You have just been told by Games Workshop that you have to design a new chaos god for warhammer and warhammer 40k. What kind of god will it be, and what emotion will they be born from?

I am looking for some polyhedral dice sets.
Pure Copper, Brass or Bronze. Not a coating, but solid Copper, Brass or Bronze.
Best I've found are here:

but are out of stock.
I've seen Norse foundries, but I dont like their design: http://norsefoundry.com/product-category/special-edition-dice-set/
any suggestions?
>>48143752
>any suggestions?
Not really - first they would be prohibitively expensive, and thus not really mass marketable / suited for mass production. Second, they'd be so heavy that they would damage surfaces that they were rolled on in many cases particularly if they had sharp well defined edges and points. Third, the metals you're talking about are soft enough that over time the dice would become misshapen and unbalanced. Three serious strikes against those metals. Brass might be the most durable, but good luck finding anything like what you're looking for short of spending a small fortune on a custom order.
>>48143752
If I were going to go that route, I'd probably pay a local machine shop to CnC a set out of hardened aluminum.
>>48144351
Not OP, but that's actually one of the offerings from Artisandice which are apparently (or have access to) a machine shop. Most of their metal dice sets run into the $100+ range and some like the titanium set are $300+.
It's so nice starting a new game with new players. And even better that none of them are murder hobos. Nothing is worse than an intricately planned out political intrigue character that is reeeeeally important, but the murder hobo is on his phone not listen and then goes "fuck this guy let's kill him." Which has happened too many times with my old group
>>48143383
>Nothing is worse than an intricately planned out political intrigue character that is reeeeeally important
Agreed.
>>48143383
Me and my friends also started a campaign recently, I was 100% sure this would end up being a murder-'em-all run but so far, not a single thing has been killed. Granted, we just barely had our first session, but still. Was a pleasant surprise.
>>48143392
Cmon man the combat and stuff is fun and all but if done right (not complete, drawn out for ages "I want this kingdom to be destroyed but with words" crap) political intrigue can be awesome
So, which miniature war game would you describe as the most newbie-friendly?
I want to get into one but I'm not sure which should I choose. I'm thinking about WH40k, WH AoS / FBFuck me running but I don't really know difference between themor X-wing.
How would you rate these games in terms of
-Price to fun ratio
-Collecting ease
-Rules complexity level (I mean which game - if any - has too many needlessly complex rules etc)
-Need of buying more and more models to keep your collection relevant in LGS games
For all your points, with the games you chose... X wings, by far...
>Price to fun ratio
You can be very competitive only with TIE (4-5)
>Collecting ease
Nothing to paint, and you can find anything quite easily
>Rules complexity level (I mean which game - if any - has too many needlessly complex rules etc)
Rules are "easy to learn, hard to master"
Honestly, you will get some fun pretty fast
>Need of buying more and more models to keep your collection relevant in LGS games
As I said, you can be very competitive with some basic ships
That's for my opinion, wait for other tho
Once the General's Handbook comes out Age of Sigmar will be a perfect newbie game
-Price to fun is easy as the start collectings+ a few more boxes actually gives you a solid unique army
-Collecting ease is very simple with the full alliances and subfactions have limited units so its more apparent what you need to but
Rules Complexity- 4 pages leads to an easy into, but war scroll interactions, missions, and the subtle interactions in the assault phase alone create a nice learning curve for the new player.
-Relevance some of the oldest model ranges in the game are still the most viable (hello Brettonians) and new factions so far are designed to be balanced. No real power creep yet.
>most newbie-friendly
whichever has a thriving community at your local stores
This isn't a question that can be answered in a vacuum.
How do you run a game while tired? I'm hosting a session in two hours and I haven't slept in like 38 hours but I don't want to cancel.
>>48141963
By taking a 90-minute power nap before hand. That should get you through a session.
