Welcome back to your irregularly scheduled 40K AU discussion.
The Hektor Heresy is a long-running collaborative writing project based on 1d4chan. The main page is at https://1d4chan.org/wiki/The_/tg/_Heresy, but the Primarch page is also a decent starting point: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Primarchs_(Hektor_Heresy)
Last time >>48185295 we discussed a bit more about alien horrors and how to deal with them, talked colour schemes and VOLTRON.
Question for the thread: Where is the Ogre Legion?
(Pic related: it's a theater overview for the Parthorum Xenocide.)
There was also some comments off-thread about the sketched Ullanor Crusade at >>48187632. The short of it was that it felt like Megiddo wasn't a satisfactory end to the campaign and that the Imperials needed to pursue to Ullanor.
No real consensus got reached, but I think there's at least three options:
1. Orks crushed at Megiddo, remnants cleaned up by Imperial Army.
2. Orks broken at Megiddo, several smaller Legion Crusades defeat the fragments of Ullanor.
3. Orks beaten at Megiddo, followed by a pursuit to Ullanor.
Personally I prefer 1 or 2, mainly because ending things at a different world helps a bit with making clear that Hektor isn't Horus. (A constant concern!)
It was also suggested that the Hektor Heresy might have a completely different Ork Empire based on a different world. Given how little we know about the OU Ullanor, I don't think this is really necessary and the differentiation of Warmasters is slightly more effective if they confront much the same situation and deal with it in different ways.
Thoughts? Questions? Tirades?
Finally, towards the end of the last thread, we had some questions about contributing Spanish-type chapters/regiments based on the Punic Wars or Reconquista. Either or both would be very welcome (as are other contributions). Contributions by green-text, multi-post, or straight to the wiki are all equally valued.

>Question for the thread: Where is the Ogre Legion?
On baggage detail.
Not anymore though! I can get back to work on the Ogre Legion and SegPac forces soon.
Also might take a shot at Space-spanish, maybeChaosConquistadors.
Welcome to the Accidental Magical Girl thread!
Various worlds and multiverses have become connected together via the mysterious Overcity, a sprawling landscape inhabited by monsters and magical beings. Girls and boys endowed with their new supernatural powers can work together solving conflicts that arise!
>This is NOT a greentext adventure style CYOA with one GM and thread posting to dictate the adventure, but rather a hub thread for multiple storycrafters to use. A majority of activity (including campaigns) instead happens in the IRC, which is open for newbies to join.
Characters can be rolled with either the CYOA's purple PDF which is intended as a writing prompt and is in the process of developing an independent auxiliary combat system, or AMGC's blue pdf which contains combat rules for PNP campaigns along with the rolls. The IRC mostly uses AMGC.
Post builds, roleplay, write stuff.

Does your character use a : made up name/ a code name / a nickname / or real name ?
>>48238274
Depends on the character. I don't think I've ever had a Shadowrunner use their actual name. Always some vaguely meaningful and nondescript name. Icebreaker would be a decker and face for instance. The name referring to the term "breaking the ice" in conversation to remove unease at a gathering and get people relaxed, as well as the cyberpunk term ICE or IC for hacking countermeasures. Thus a runner with that name puts people at ease and penetrates matrix defenses.
On the other hand, my adventurer will loudly proclaiming his name and that he has slain the bad thing, bring on his deserved wenches and ale so that he might recount the tale!
Generally though, for ease of players it's good to consider a shortened term of your character's name. Nobody cares about Llennalellulenven Ghoauniueeƫeen the Elf's full name. But remembering the name Len is easy.

>Use my real name all campaign
>Family member gets kidnapped
>Party pretends to work for the guy to get information
>Me specifically starts using a fake name, dyed hair, ect since the BBEG has seen me before.
>Party forgets to use my fake name EVERY FUCKING TIME
>GM doesn't allow take-backs for dialogue, only mechanics issues.
Yeah... that was a fun plot arc...
>>48238274
Real name. Most of them. Some does not have surnames. When they'll go undercover a made up name of course.
But I just hate that huurrr-durrr-the-npc-does-not-know-my-real-name-they-do-not-know-where-I-live!

Anyone here plays Magic: Duels?
I know it is online and such but it is magic so I guess this is a right board?
What are you playing?
What are your tricks to get rank 40?
Did you find any cheat level combos?
How do you like current meta?
I'm currently at rank 23, but I have been testing some new builds that showed not to be very efficient. Playing mainly GW control with a lots of investigate, but also some mono red, BR and BW aggro (damn, meta is so full of aggro right now) some esper controls and such... can post a decklist(s) if anyone is interested.

RUG good cards.dec
What are your tricks to get rank 40?
Mana-fixing via 4 sylvan rangers helps alot.
Did you find any cheat level combos?
The game is shitty and full of glitches so you can abuse them. For example flipwalker Jace's -3 ability doesnt exile the card so you can keep casting boardwipes again and again if that sounds like something you'd want to do.
How do you like current meta?
Mostly I just play bot games to complete my daily quests. I occasionally play against actual players just to get the win of the day coins.
I might occasionally bump this thread.
>>48237215
What is your rank?
Sylvan ranger is really good, I can confirm. Playing only 3 though, the forth being Nissa who basically fits the same role.
Also great fan of Bellower and Gaea's revenge (most decks have zero answers for that, usually ends up being 3 for 1)
Care to post your RUG good cards.dec?
Bet you are playing Chandra's ignition =)
Interesting point about Jace. Never noticed although I play him in almost every deck.
Realistic, unrealistic, fantasy, sci-fi, it doesn't matter. I need knights in shining armor.
I played in a modern tournament today at my lcg and played mono blue tron in a non casual setting for the first time. This deck seems COMPLETLEY fucking irrelevant in the current meta. Its pretty much exactly like any list youd see online except i use all is dust instead of mind slave and bane of balla ged instead. What am i doing wrong? I died so fast i never even went online in one game and got run over.
>>48236751
>running 0 mindslavers
>WHAT AM I DOING WRONG GUYS
>>48236751
Did you play without Chalice of the Void? That's pretty cruicial.
Bother mindslaver and chalice would have been irrelevant in those games. I played the noble hierarch infect deck and merfolk and i stood 0 chance. I didnt even assemble all my lands when i died to infect and merefolk just made my control look like a joke. I didnt evem have time to think about my wormcoils or sundering titan.
Hey, Donny back again. Im not sure how well received this was last time, but it generally seemed to be positive- and I'd like to toss my hat back in again. If Anyone is up for it, I'd like to toss up another Story time.
If Anyone missed the last one

Go right ahead. Story times are best times.
>>48235651
Go for it dude.
So, Donny-Boy got a silent tip off that he needed to get out to Far port for some 'exercise'. And by Exercise, they meant 'under the table work'. Donny-Boy wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he knew when he was being nudged and when he was needed. The question was how to get out there.
You see, Getting out to Farport meant getting to the outer rim, and getting to the outer rim isn't cheap, especially when your coming from the core worlds. The problem was, Donny-boy didn't feel like dumping over half his fortune he just got for his commendation of bravery into a one way ticket out there (It was about 18,000 Credits. His Pension per year was 10,000, for a reference.), and he certainly didn't have a ship of his own accord that he owned or could fly. This, of course, was a problem. If he couldn't get OUT into the outer rim, he wasn't going to be present to do his job.
A good week or so searching around the ships however, got him a lucky break. Coming across A Luxury Cruiser known as the White Chimera- They had needed a few extra hands for a security detail- Something about a luxury cruiser that was flying into dangerous space and wanting to ensure the safety of its patrons. Food and board included and it was an easy way to get out into the outer rim, Even if it broke out into a fight.
Donny-boy was always ready for a scrap, after all.
Looking for some inspiration, so I thought I'd start one. Not looking for anything in particular, will dump what I have.
Who /never played a tabletop RPG/ here?
Not me. I love getting together with my friends and playing RPGs.
I DM games IRL once in a while, but I don't do it as often as I'd like and I've only gotten to be a player like four or five times tops over the six or so years I've been into ttrpg..
This isn't /lit/, boy. We do than just shitpost here.
The fallout campaign I plan to run will have several factions in the wasteland fighting over a crashed satelite that contains essentially a bigger garden of Eden kit, an assortment of energy weapons, and data records of most of the old world's knowledge.
I'd like a thematic old song to play when I start the campaign that could relate to this.
also, Fallout rpg thread.

>>48234041
If I had a Klein bottle I'd consider doing something like that.
So, /tg/, I ordered one of these, since I'm a beginner, but it has just now come to my attention that I may not be able to play with it forever, since at least some groups require recent cards. Is there a way out of buying cards that become outdated or no?
Sorry for the noob question, I haven't even played the game yet outside of a computer screen, and thanks.
>>48232636
It depends on what format you play. Standard is the only format that rotates, which means cards move out as others move in. Here is helpful site for seeing which sets are legal in Standard: http://whatsinstandard.com/. Outside of Standard, you don't have to worry about cards becoming outdated.
>>48232636
You can always play kitchen-table, just find a local gaming group and see what kind of formats and decks they run.
>>48232636
As an additional bit of advice, there isn't a whole lot of value to a deck builders toolkit. The decks that you will be able to assemble will be pretty low level. You are better served by figuring out what cards you need and purchasing those cards directly.
I'm making a race that counts in base 7 but I'm having trouble with the worldbuilding for why that is. Is their a reason that a creature evolved to the point of being a sentient humanoid would be asymmetric as one would probably be to develop base 7? This race doesn't really belong to a homebrewed world yet so there is pretty much free reign on what the cause is.
>>48231801
Religious reasons maybe?
But really, having your "native" base be prime number is kind of bullshit. Unless you are a computer.
>>48231801
>I'm making a race that counts in base 7
>but I'm having trouble with the worldbuilding for why that is
So you thought "oh yeah having a different number system would be neat!" and didn't otherwise think of why that would develop in the first place?
