Trying to help stat a D&D 5e character for a friend - what skills would a forest-dwelling lamia have?

That would translate to the Hermit or Outlander background
Why don't all Tyranids have as sharp claws as genestealers? The Hive Mind is all about trying to engineer the most bullshit unit possible why not give every single lizardbug claws that render armor useless?
My second question is why only marines in terminator armor teleport? Why not regular marines?
It's resource vs output type situation.
Rending claws ae not present on lesser tyrannic forms as it is more resource intensive to make them as well as the musculature needed to make use of the hardness factor. If hoards are needed quantity is better than quality for the same resource cost. If you need deadly ambush/infiltrators those same.resources can then be put towards the more intensive genestealers.
Regular marines can teleport but it is rare and fickle tech that can only move X number of combatants so it is used for the units with maximum effectiveness/numbers ratio ie terminators.
>>48239000
my question is how big are genestealers?
They say about the size of a normal man, however, they are represented in miniture form as big as a terminator. In fact, if standing on hind legs, they would dwarf a terminator.
>>48239000
Pt. cost.
How come whenever someone brings up magical items, everyone wants to talk about horrible psychological curses?
Let's talk about the exact opposite. What are some blessings/blessed items that have more of a RP effect than a gameplay one?

Here's a rare illustration of this relic
Kill the level 1 sacred cow in medieval fantasy tabletop RPGs.
From now on, level 1 means a child or a small animal, most adults with real jobs are level 3 or 4, and the starting level for PCs is 5.
This way, a PC's first level up is not such a huge leap in HP and class features that level 1 enemies immediately become a joke, and an illiterate barbarian who multiclasses into wizard will not get all the benefits of a starting wizard who supposedly studied for years.
This will never die so long as Paizo keeps on having all adventure paths start at 1st level, and as long as Wizards of the Coast does the exact same thing with their own adventures.
>>48223865
I do this with my campaigns for the same reason.
Also since characters with the same class can go very different routes these differences are much more apparant after just a few levels, making characters a bit more unique from the start.
>>48223865
Both problems you list don't actually stem from starting at level 1 though, and can be easily fixed by just not playing D&D and its derivatives.

Do you guys have that one friend who always pushes a broken custom card idea and asks you about it?
Currently he keeps sending me this 1cmc Planeswalker with "+1 Add G to your mana pool", and despite how much I disagree, he keeps arguing how it isn't that bad. It's been going on for a while now, and this post is partly to rant, but how do I get him to either make it in quiet or leave me alone about it? I've tried dismissing it like a normal human being but he keeps sending me it.
>>48207068
Get him to post it here, or do it yourself. Then show him the responses it gets. Oh, and point to Tibalt and the original Nissa for why CMC < 3 planeswalkers are not a good idea.
A while back, I watched Reign of Assassins with a friend, and not too long ago I saw Shaolin (which is not technically a Wuxia film, but whatever). I am in a mood for stories of daringdoo in the secret circles of martial arts, and the world that surrounds it.
Have you ever run a Wuxia campaign, how dit it go?
What system do you prefer?
What movies, series and books would you recommend someone to immerse themselves in the genre?
Buddhism, Daoism, Confusianism, or one of the many different folk beliefs?

1.2 of main CYOA, just a few things:
'Map Maker' mental trait added
'Enchanting' magic added
'Region Locked' drawback added
'A Dark God' quest added
Nemesis drawback clarified
Level 0 of temperature tolerance slightly toned down (still enough for comfort in almost all climes, but not enough to go naked in a blizzard). Higher levels unaffected.

Somewhat in theme with the edition, share your knowledge of Tamriellic cuisine, even if it's a small tidbit mentioned by an NPC or in a book.
Red Kitchen Reader is an obvious one. A Dance in Fire mentions Jagga and Rotmeth, Bosmeri alcoholic drinks made with fermented pig milk and fermented meat juices, respectively.

>Yeah, fist sized chunks in the soil for too long is enough to raise whole battlefields of corpses from the dead with no involvement from a necromancer at all.
>A Wight King with a decent sized chunk implanted in his chest would probably be super strong, yeah. How strong is up to you, remember to implant chaos fuckery. He could remember his life, start to integrate the warpstone into his skeleton, start throwing around spells, whatever you want. Generally undead don't mutate.
But who's control are the undead under then?
I'd assumed it took magic/power to revive and move them around like puppets on a string.
What motivates and moves them when they're free range undead?
>>48217174
I know that there was once old fluff which may be of questionable canon by this point where some Norse tribes (mostly southern ones) did not worship Chaos but worshiped their own gods (one of which is Ulric, pronounced as Olric by the Norse). Is it the same for the Hung and Kurgan people? Are there groups among them who do not worship chaos as well or are they uniform in worshiping chaos?
>>48217272
Generally the further north you go the more in the grip of Chaos you are. Norscans can be alright sometimes but Kurgan and Hung are total dicks because there is no other way.
What's the cutest creature in your setting, /tg/? Share cute stories and pics.
>>48203549
In my setting there are baby rock elementals like pic related that one of the players adopted. It was literally as dumb as a rock and could only move around really slowly, eat rocks, occaisionally make a kind of purring/rumbling sound and look damn adorable.
Then at one point the party met a sentient skeleton who had been stuck in a cave for 40 years and couldn't leave without becoming inanimate again. The player gave the skeleton the baby rock elemental to keep him company until the next time they came to visit.
No pic, but my setting now has creatures called gwiyeowo that live in the trees.
They started out as an off-hand comment (gwiyeowo's are just generically cute background critters with no stats or narrative significance) but they have since become a kind of meme among my group.
Also, red pandas:

One of my players wants one as a familiar.
