We all need to try.

This actually brings up a interesting point. Why is such a large percentage of the people who share our hobby taken up by disgusting degenerates? Why can't these people keep their fetishes inside their porn folder and why do they feel the need to keep trying to bring them into the thread/game?

I have personally left two different games due to really creepy fetish stuff by the DM.

What can we do to fix this?

There's actually a book dedicated specifically to that topic.

It has outlines for taking down a bunch of "Elder Evils", which typically starts with low level adventures where the players might find a strange mark, followed by encountering cultists, then fighting servants and aspects of the Elder Evil, and ultimately, potentially, fighting and destroying the Elder Evil itself.

Sounds promising. Long as it sets up the Elder Evils to be genuinely powerful while still vulnerable. The goal is to be very Darkest Dungeon without the bait and switch at the very end.

>This is actually false.
Nope. Because you have to pay extra to give anyone a decent amount of magic.

>Also false.
Yeah, no it's not. Before, Minor Magic cost 1 point to buy as Learned. Now it costs 2. Meaning Getting both a Minor and Major before was 3 points, not it's 4. I can fucking count, don't bullshit with me.

I think the lower tier options are worthless. If I'm paying to give people magic, I want a magical world. I don't want an extremely small number of people to magical. That disgusts me morally and doesn't imbue any sense of fantasy into the wider world. So I only care about Learned and Everyone, and both of these are DEFINITELY more expensive.

>>48348522
See above. There is zero reason to nerf learned.
>>
>>48348577
Bah, of course I post at the end of the thread.

Attached is 0.9.1 of the DLC. The only thing changed since the last is the system for assigning magic to species. If any anons want to read it over and tell me if it's shit, I'd appreciate it. I mean, I know the last version system was shit, I just don't know if this is less so.

You can page search to "Assigning Magic"; that and the next section, "Magic Balance". 1 page in total. You don't need to read the "Defining Magic" section, though of course you can if you like.

General overview:
Giving "Everyone" magic is more expensive than before
Giving "Rare" magic is less expensive than before
Giving Learned/Common Innate magic is the same as before
Much more flexible
HOPEFULLY clearer\simpler.

"Balanced" layouts such as "Primary Antagonist" and "Coalition" still cost exactly +0 balance overall, and if you balance magic evenly between allies and enemies, then you will get +0 balance.
>>
>>48348588
Which version are you comparing to? 0.4? It hasn't been 1 point to buy magic for humans in a long time.

I'd like to point something out about the Tarrasque.

Look at the tough hide , the spikes, the horns.

Those are prey animal adaptations.

This creature is clearly not at the top of the food chain in its ecosystem.

What should we look out for instead?

>Look at the tough hide , the spikes, the horns.

I'm sure certain Tyrannosaur-like dinosaurs were apex predators yet still had tough hides, spikes, and horns. Dragons also have this shit.
>>
>>48348299

High level PCs.
>>
It's not a natural evolution, natural selection and prey adaptions don't figure into it.

It was created by the gods or some shit so it looks big and scary.

I need to whinge for a minute /tg/, and because I couldn't find a thread for it, I thought I'd start one.

What annoys you about the way your current GM GMs or your current players play?

Come and vent and rant and scream or even thank your GM/players once you read what is shitting off everyone else.

Allow me to begin;

One of my current GMs describes... almost nothing. Ever. No scenery, no sounds, no smells.

>You're on the road towards the next village. The village is a couple days away.
We move on down the path.
>You enter the village, there are soldiers patrolling.
What do those soldiers look like?
>They're wearing black.
We try to sneak our way in.
>You're in an alley, what do you do?

That is all we get, ever. Absolutely no description about anything beyond a label for what it is.

>inb4 muh immershun

Fuck yeah, my immersion. I like to know what things look like, I like to have a feel of a setting. It's hard to give a fuck or be engaged when there is no description to anything.

>pic kinda related
115 posts and 11 images submitted.
>>
I understand what ya mean. I'm huge on description and making the setting come to life, but its one of those things that isn't for everyone. The current game I am running is super detailed, but I had the luxury of running it before with a smaller easier group, so while the setting is homebrewed, I have a lot of it already established. Creating a city completely on the fly and make it full of character and history is tough.

This is one of those things where you should really talk it out with the GM, tell him what you want and see what he can do. Otherwise some people don't have the time or inclination to do it so you might need to find a new GM, or run a game yourself
>>
I can't stand when players or GMs introduce off book elements without balancing them. My current group is fucking terrible at it, and they barely discuss it before going 'it's awesome, approved!'

>Far east themed campaign. Began with a focus in ninja, feudal politics, and youkai. Has now become pathfinder ball Z because the DM has allowed saiyans and the damn things have more powers than spirits and wizards, and more martian prowess than any other class. Thanks to death, attrition, and allowing extra characters, more than half the party has become some variety of Saiyan.

>War themed game, max level, characters began pretty basic One player bribed the DM into allowing third party and now the already near godlike characters can cast nationwide spells, one shot everything but the gods, and are generally impossible to stand against. I am the only player still giving a damn about their army it seems.

I don't like it when the GM takes forever to progress:
>"Okay, we go to Rivendale"
>"Okay".
>"...So we start walking towards Rivendale".
>"Got you."
>"... ... Are we making any progress towards moving towards the physical vicinity of Rivendale yet?"

I don't think making the player repeat their intentions of traveling is the best way to simulate an arduous journey.

As for players, I fucking hate it when they are pussies.
>"I think this adventure sounds dangerous!"
>"Waaaah, there's no way we could do that!"
>"I think I'll just sit here on my ass until the GM picks me up and tells me what to do next."
Bitch, if I wanted to be a player in my own campaign I'd written a fucking novella.

that makes no fucking sense the over the top agressive fantasy and SF races are exactly the ones who should strive for technological and tactical advantage as it's ensures victory as opposed to ''hurr being a suicidal tard means I'm honorable''. It is the Year of our Lord, 1135

And Jerusalem is at war. Towers are prepared, trebuchets are assembled. Warriors sharpen their blades as servants tend their armour and camp women patch their clothes. Troops march the high roads, coming from Tripoli, Galilee, and the heart of the Kingdom of God, their approach marked by great billowing dust clouds that act as herald for leagues around. Ships sail through the Palestine sea, bellies fattened with Christian men ready to fight, kill and die, in the name of Christ, from their masts flutter the banners of the Crusader Kingdoms, the men bedecked in the livery of noble houses of this holy Frankish kingdom.

The war camp of Melisende, Queen Regnant of Jerusalem, sits in spying distance from the walls of the Saracen fortress of Ascalon. Her intention, the capture of this last Muslim holdout, bringing all of Palestine at last into Christian hands. A splinter of her army marches south, to capture and fortify the garrison of Gaza, to prevent Egyptian relief coming up the high road.

Her tent sits at the heart of the camp, a great white heart from which the rest of the camp sprawls outward in orderly lines, clear lanes left like veins through the body of the camp, carrying soldiers and servants about their business with fast efficiency. From the great spacious war tents of powerful lords, to the humble billets of common soldiery, it is a sea of peaked cloth. A host of this size has not been seen in the lands of Jerusalem in a generation.

And in this host you are:

Shinobi Quest #23

This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.

(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime and the team arrived at the base camp for the ruins expedition, and discussed strategy. Major concerned were the shinobi aligned to other nations- and among them, one in particular- Kisame Hoshigaki. His partner’s identity remained a mystery.

Deciding to switch gears, Tsuki met the other shinobi, aligned with the Land of Earth. Kurotsuchi was her name, and between the two of you, you exchanged some information, along with her warning you to stay out of her way.

Finally, as the teams met before the entrance, you descended down into the ruins, before running to escape a rush of water unleashed by Kisame. Eventually able to avoid it, the team was stuck in a large room with a door on the ceiling- eventually climbing out to escape. They proceeded into the darkness….

“Feh, can’t see a thing.” Nori complains, peering into the pitch black hallway head.

The water had stopped rising, but wasn’t receding, either. You could would it out, but why bother when you could move forward?

“I believe this is my cue.” Lemeza says, producing a torch. “If one of you would be so kind?”

Itachi expels a small jet of flame from his mouth, which lights the torch. “Now, stay close behind me- who knows what we’ll find in here. We haven’t explored past this room, yet.” the doctor explains, keeping the torch lifted above his head.

Would you rather…

There aren't enough common sense perks in existence to help Jumper.

You could have a common sense perk in each jump - totalling about 605+ Common Sense perks. And it would still not be enough.

Having a split personality would be even worse since that's out and out insanity.

I chose not to get one sure, but there's nothing you really get from the jump in that case, and you can't really be involved in the whole 'symbiote as a solution' deal.
