Is it magical realm when a player jokes about replaying the cleric for heals by sleeping with him. They are both joking about it and its all fun.

No you idiot, not even close. It would be magical realm if a player does prostitute themselves in that way and the two players insist on roleplaying it out rather than fading to black.

There is an entire comminity of pervs dedicated to this as a fetish. It's called a healslut. And it is highly heretical.

[spoilers]It's also fucking awesome[/spoiler]

AS long as they're joking, probs not magical realm.

Sup /tg/ , In my setting to be a knight you have to be one of the most strong and intelligent individuals, so the kingdom test about 600 people that want to apply, what type of test could i use, to test my players and the other 596 NPC? there is magic in the setting

They have to free all the girls from various towers and dungeons.
And have no intercourse with any them
>>
First screening is recruiting from universities and the like, so the intelligent part can be reasonably granted, then it's time for physical tests where you have to score a minimum to pass. No test is like the one that came before it and no one knows what the score needed to pass is, thus everyone is on their toes and strives to exceed his limits. This is also the first way to test mettle and willpower too.

After that a fair number of aspirants will have been discarded already and deeper tests may start, along with training that more closely resembles the activities that knights will have to perform on the field. Lack of sleep and preparation for these tests is paramount as it mirrors ever changing condtions during service.

The nature and form of these tests largely relies on the tech level, organization of the knightly order and how much magic there is.

>No test is like the one that came before it and no one knows what the score needed to pass is

Look I get why you probably think this is a good idea but it might not be. All it would do is encourage and perpetuate myths of knighthood being a club where only daddy knight's kid gets chosen for performing good.

Which could be a benefit or a hindrance, depending on how you want knighthood to be perceived by outsiders and commoners.

Polearms are clearly the most awesome weapons ever created. Let's have a thread to express our love for them, share cool/original/interesting polearm arts, and stuff.

That's actually pretty interesting weapon design there, save for the... things on the backside of that weapon. If that handle would be a bit longer, it could be an even bigger worry to shield users.

Rolled 15 (1d20)

Welcome to the thread for d20 station, a rules light Space Station 13 server.

>What is Space Station 13?
It's a 2D top down atmospherics simulator with who dun it gameplay layered on top. Each crew member aboard the station has a specific job to perform, while a select few are selected to be traitors (assassin/spy/thief).

>How do I play?
You'll need to download the BYOND client. There's games other than SS13, but enter those at your own risk.
BYOND Download link: http://www.byond.com/download/
You'll also want a BYOND account, which gives you a ckey so you can save preferences and be recognized by the game. It's highly recommended to make an account if you're experiencing connection issues or don't want to be a fat tourist/starving space bum.

To connect: Open BYOND, click the gear in the upper right. Click "Open Location" and paste in the IP below.
byond://76.16.8.127:28014 OR byond://d20station.ddns.net:28014

>How do I play
Use OOC (backspace say" in the bottom, type OOC and hit enter) and ask someone for help on how to play. People will almost always help you get a grip of the game if you're polite about it, just don't reveal too much in-round information in OOC. There's also wikis dedicated to documenting the spaceman way of life, but they vary widely from server to server.

>What are the rules?
The rules are very relaxed and admins try to take a hands-off approach to administrating. Admins will generally only intervene if someone is explicitly playing to ruin the game or being a dick. Reminder to read the rules in-game.

>What map/code do you run?
We run a heavily modified Ministation map with mostly custom code. Most jobs on Ministation are merged with similar counterparts and head roles have been re-enabled.

>D20 wiki where?
http://robustvinyl.com/ss13/wiki/

>When does everyone play?
Check out the server pop graph to see when people are playing: https://www.ss13.se/servers/2926/

>Who are these tripfaggots?
Usually admins/coders in the server.

Have you ever had a co-Game Master to help you run your game? How did it work?

A friend asked to join my campaign but I already have too many players, so I offered him to be assistant GM. Now, though, I have no clue what he should actually do.

>>
>>48356593
First time I hear about dual GMing but you could split the mechanic parts (combat, puzzles, etc) and the roleplay parts (npc handling, planning). That should keep you both entertained
>>
>>48356593

Gygax and Arneson used to have co-DMs. Greyhawk especially became a huge campaign with multiple parties traipsing all over the place.
Two gms at once is weird, though. I'd suggest letting him play, but having the players elect a caller, which is what they used to use for large parties, which could often be 10+ people at Gygax's table.
A caller's job is to be the one who tells the DM what everybody's doing, and to handle the other players and make sure everybody's ready for their turn and deciding what absent players are going to do, stuff like that.
That way the DM doesn't have to deal with Greg being in the bathroom and Dave looking at his phone when his turn comes up. The caller deals with all that bullshit, reducing the load on the GM and smoothing the game out.

Two GMs could help you keep track of things not usually covered in normal games, like food/fuel consumption

A powerful ayy lmao wizard visited Earth before genus Homo appeared, and stopped this evolution branch of hominids.

Instead, it uplifted bees and octopi to almost neolithic human level of intelligence.

What would happen? What kind of culture and civilisation would octopodes and bees develop?
44 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>48355484
Well. Octopodes would have no fire, or would be strictly coastal, and would have to develop extremely extensive trading before getting any sort of metal tools. Various sorts of fish herding would be likely and fairly simple, though, so other than that specialization would be easy. A lopsided tech tree, in favor of concepts and aquaculture over anything mechanical. I'm not too sure about their personalities or values, but I get the sense that they'd be rather religious because of how comparatively easy building huge megastructures would be underwater.

Then they'd get raped by dolphins, who are almost as smart.

Bees are a little too small to accomplish anything except in huge numbers. Building would be an extension of their biological building materials, though. Strict caste, yadda yadda, I can't think of anything original for these.

How would you institute a Endbringer type enemy in your setting/campaign?

To clarify, an Endbringer is something from the superhero web-book "Worm" that is such a massive threat to humanity that whenever one appears there is a cease fire/temporary truce between all sides to fight the thing. Casualties are %25 on a good day.

Like they do in Worm. Giant creatures with a convoluted origin that bad guys and good guys throw down walls and kick some ass, before getting their shit wrecked.

Isn't that what a tarresque is supposed to be in ye old D&D?
>>
>>48355837
yeah. DMs just used it wrong. they waited until the tarrasque was at an appropriate challenge rating to put it into the game, instead of throwing it at level 10 characters who have to organize a defense of all the most powerful heroes of the realm before it reaches the capital city

Character art request, lady Vikings, shield maidens, barbarians. Humans and aasimar preferred but will take anything

Why is the "party goes to prison" such a ubiquitous beat to play for GMs?
27 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>48354008
Because for power hungry railroad type GMs it gives them a way to take away gear and force the players onto a simple path.

For more freeform GMs it gives them a way to test the players' creativity in solving problems with little gear or resources in a very hostile area.

For story GMs, it's an out to a TPK, or the PCs actually deserve life in prison without parole.

Basically, it's a good beat for a wide variety of games and reasons.

Inb4 5e is terrible, a friend of mine is using 5e to run a Marvel campaign, and I'm considering running Ant-Man. Is he a rogue? A wizard? A druid?

>I'm at a loss
Exactly. Race+Class doesn't work for not-generic fantasy. Why is your friend such a dumbass? Are you guys like, serious underageb&?
>>
>Using 5e to run a Marvel campaign

No. Just... No.

5e is a fine system for D&D. It does the job. It runs D&D style fantasy pretty well.

For anything fucking else it's utter garbage. Get your friend a copy of Mutants and Masterminds 3e. It's close enough to D&D that it should be easy to understand, and it's infinitely better for superhero stuff.
>>
>>48353861
Which Ant man? Pym? Scott? OGrady?

Btw, 5e is not made for that, use M&M
