LET THE DICE DECIDE!
Hypothetically speaking. If I acquired a skull, how do I turn it into a proper servo skull? I'm talking the standard sanctioned STC procedure of course, none of the radical and otherwise questionable stuff.

3. OP is a faggot.
What kind of axe is this?

It has a lot of edges.
anime axe #453

Looks like a long and fucked up bearded axe.
Are monsters really iredeemable? It is ethical to kill the children of monsters, even if they haven't done anything?
>another Goblin Slayer thread
Call me when a new chapter is released.
Certain monsters are heavily predisposed to harming innocents.
Waiting for an innocent to be harmed before taking action is inherently unethical, as it places the lives of monsters above the lives of innocents.
It is therefore ethical to kill the children of certain monsters predisposed to harming innocents.

Are there any unusual or more uncommon sealed/casual formats for MTG? Two friends and I are going to split a box three ways and we want to try something fun with the 12 packs we each open. Draft is a no-go since it sort of feels like you're stealing someone else's cards.
>>48374420
Do a rare re-draft. People draft like normal, then at the end the rares are gathered together and picked, one at a time, starting with the winner of the draft.
>>48374420
Pauper comes to mind
How about Color Roulette? The first common and the rare of the first pack determines the colors you'll use.
How about 3-color draw go?
Take three basic lands of different colors and put them into the battlefield. Then take 57 cards of cmc 3 or less in one or more of the three colors and make a deck with no lands. Play as normal except land destruction spells are banned. 12 booster packs should be enough. Or you could do the five color version. Or you could do a normal sealed deck of 60 cards and everyone goes at the exact same time through all steps.
I remember having a graph that outlined what was considered "general" technology, technology exclusively controlled by the admech and what was considered xenotech or tech-heresy.
So what technology is reserved for the AdMech and what's considered tech-heresy? I know it varies but I mean the general standard, Is it just no AI?
>>48373874
From my understanding of it, Tech-Heresy is can mean several things. In the context of something like the Tau or Eldar, its that their technology is soulless and therefore a lifeless offence to the Omnissiah.
In the case of Chaos however, the breach is far more grave as, rather than removing their organic parts and replacing them with mechanical equivalents, they instead seek to fuse the two together, which goes against the whole "The Flesh Is Weak" thing they have going. Also the various traitor splinters of AdMech tend to work with Deamons a lot, which, not only is regular Heresy, but also Tech-Heresy as Deamons don't follow any logic, which despite the memes, is one of the core principles of the Cult Mechanicus.
>>48374389
>>48373874
I thought that tech-heresy was more in line with trying to modify or develop new technologies without the approval of the AdMech, which is why they've used the same designs for thousands of years.
Or something along the lines of discovering archeotech and not immediately turning it over to the AdMech, or using Xenotech
>>48374523
Honestly, Tech-Heresy is as nebulous a term as Heresy is in 40k, they are a lot of grey areas. You're definitely right about the Archeotech and Xeno-tech though.
Hey /teeg/, I'm trying to help a friend come up with some fleshed-out ideas for his writefagging/setting about Artificial Intelligence. Essentially, we're trying to come up with good arguments and a believable "desire" for advanced enough AI or something like a primitive Warforged to find the meaning of their existence and what makes them earn "rights" as humans and animals do.
It's pretty much the classic question of "What determines what makes you alive?". Can a robot ever earn this despite being manufactured for a purpose?
>>48372702
Consciousness is for rights
Subconsciousness for wills
Basically, make your AI advanced enough to be for many intents and purposes indistinguishable from a human's.
>>48372833
Fair enough but I'm wondering more about the kindof arguments one could pose to people who just refuse to accept it. Just like reality, there will always be people who won't accept the fact a manufactured creature will be eligible for the same treatment as other creatures created by gods or nature.
Take for example pet animals in the real world. Why do we keep them? Cows were domesticated so we can harvest their milk, meat and leather. We domesticated cats to hunt rodents and to provide us with companionship. A robot is built to till fields. All 3 have purpose in life, but provided the AI is advanced enough, why would the cow and cat have animal rights and the robot be denied robot rights?
>>48373010
>but provided the AI is advanced enough, why would the cow and cat have animal rights and the robot be denied robot rights?
Humans feel empathy toward other objects based on emotional cues. We have laws that protect certain (cute) animals from excessive or cruel harm, but no laws protecting other (not-cute) animals.
If people think robots are in need of comfort and protection, they will grant robots rights. If humans don't feel empathy toward robots, they will not.
So what happens when a relatively small amount of guardsmen manage to pull off a "saving private Ryan" for a chapter master? In other words, a Chapter Master gets in a shitstorm, and while all the guardsmen sent to help him end up dying in glory the CM is fairly safe because of their sacrifice. How would the chapter remember them?
>>48372666
Depends on the chapter. Adding them to the Chapter's roll of honour would be very sweet. Space Wolves might remember them in a song.
Salamanders might make a nice little shrine to them on the homeworld, or ensure that their remains are returned to their families or something sweet like that.
Weirder chapters might cannibalize the bodies in some bizarre ritual, or take the bones and use them to decorate the Chapter Master's armor.
Iron Hands and Marines Malevolent would probably just shrug.
As an aside, I played as a Black Shield in Deathwatch who took the name of the Guardsman who saved his life as his alias when he joined the Deathwatch.
>>48372666
The owe them a favor. If the Chapter does not consist of assholes like the Marines Malovent they likely issue the regiment or the planet the guardsmen came from a very pretty document that's basically a IOU note and swear on their honor to aid them when they call on this document to read the debt but most likely only once. If the Guards were led by by an officer from a honored officer\noble line they might even temporarily grant his descendants a single Astartes as a bodyguard for a campaign.
>>48372757
I get the feeling if this happen to the Ultramar then you might get stationed on Macragge.
White Scars might write a poem about them or something.
I'm not sure about the Raven Guard, but as Shrike is their Chapter Master at the moment, I'd imagine he'd be pretty cool about the whole thing.
The Blood Ravens might just "gift" the Guardsmen some relics from another regiment
So, I took some suggestions, and finally get to present my progress on my new Character Sheet.
What do you guys think?
By the way, this is my first time using Photoshop. I honestly kinda hate this program for Text-based projects.
It looks like every other D&D character sheet.

Yeah that was a dumb idea. Illustrator or InDesign are much better options.

/tg/ is there any way to play a ranger in 5e and contribute significantly to the party? My current character is well on his way to his death and I want to try a Ranger. How should I build? What archetype? My party is level 13 (almost 14).
>>48371505
Somewhat off-topic but why did you post Faramir when there's a character who's literally called the Chieftain of the Rangers of the North?
How much a ranger contributes is very dependent on the nature of the game being played. If you spend a lot of time in one terrain, primarily fight a specific type of enemy, and/or pay attention to things like travel, fatigue, food/water, and lifestyle a Ranger can be a great asset to a team.
If the game is more like "kill random things on a grid for points" the Ranger isn't exactly terrible but it does have a lower average DPR than most other classes.
Both archetypes are viable but hunter tends to out-damage beast master under most circumstances. In general commanding your beast to attack is going to be sub-optimal compared to your own attack, but having two warm bodies on the field can compensate for that, especially if you have a sneak-attack focused rogue in the party.
>>48371505
just multiclass after level 8 and you're fine
or tell your gm you want to use a fixed ranger of whatever kind you want
How would the Spanish Empire in space work? Keeping in mind that it consisted of a small elite that went places, fucked the locals, and took all of the valuables without building up useful infrastructure.
>>48371467
Space pirates with some sort of aristocracy.
>>48371467
What a cool idea. I mean, for an MMO, not a tabletop game.
>>48371467
>>48371467
>it consisted of a small elite
Two things wrong already. First, Conquistadores weren't elites. Second, they always had native auxiliaries in major engagements.
>without building up useful infrastructure.
Because the entire idea of Spanish colonization was to use existing infrastructure to rule their colonies. Which they did.
You seem like a dumb American who knows nothing of world history.
Can you have several independent kingdoms which share the same culture, language and religion?
Sure. Just look at the history of Germany, China and South America.
I made the sword longer
>>48371139
Scandinavia, Britain, the ex-Yugo states, pre-unification Germany.
Essentially all countries cultures exist as a continuum. look at the Himalayan states. From Pakistan to china there are very few points where you can say "here is where the culture changes", it happens by degrees.
Robot armies make no sense one EMP blast can fuck up entire squad why would they be a threat?

>>48371020
Protective coating to prevent interference from EMPs, maybe? I can't imagine technology in the far future being that vulnerable to electromagnetic interference. Even coating something in copious amounts of aluminum foil should provide a sufficient layer of protection.
Crawler.
Since the last worm stat me thread did great,
let's show some love for the slaughterhouse nine massochist monster.let's have another worm shadow general
>>48370966
Are there any good images of Crawler?
>>48370966
Crawler's hard to stat, given how he can change abilities over time. He'd probably be best to mock up as a variable power pool (in whatever superhero system you like) with a condition that it can only apply to traits meant to counter previous damage. That, and a pretty good regeneration power. So, in Wild Talents, I'd put it as:
>Regeneration 6HD (5 points per die): Useful +2, Engulf +2, Permanent +4, Self Only -3
>Adaptable Offense (7 points per die): Attacks +2, Endless +3, If/Then (Must be used for Variable Effect) -1, If/Then (Must be adaptation to previous damage) -1, Variable Effect +4
>Adaptable Defense 7 points per die): Defends +2, Endless +3, If/Then (Must be used for Variable Effect) -1, If/Then (Must be adaptation to previous damage) -1, Variable Effect +4
>Adaptable Utility (7 points per die): Useful +2, Endless +3, If/Then (Must be used for Variable Effect) -1, If/Then (Must be adaptation to previous damage) -1, Variable Effect +4
And then adjust the dice pools depending on how strong you want him to be. He grows stronger over time, so him righyt after triggering should have fewer dice than him at the time he got glass bombed.
Oh, and he needs a Parhuman archetype, of course.
>Parahuman: Source: Conduit +5, Permission: Power Theme +5 (10 points)
And then after he's mutated enough mandate that he has to take Intrinsic: Inhuman (-8 points) as well
>>48371272
OP's pretty mch the only decent image I've seen of him. I think the same artist did one of Echidna, but I could be wrong.
Actually, are there any decent fanfiction with Crawler?

GW paid the Chinese government to imprison Irene indefinitely, and has received a confiscated copy of her customer list so that everyone who has bought BFG minis from her can be extradited to the UK and criminally prosecuted. It was a BoLS article a week ago, IIRC.
If you're going to be a recaster or buy their illegal product, those are the risks you take. Hope you aren't on the list, anon.
