I'm looking for any of the following still -
>Any and all DG fiction
>Ken Hite's Dubious Shards
>See No Evil from the Unspeakable Oath issue 16 or 17
>Dia de los Muertos which was in Shadis issue 52 I believe
why isn't there an RPG set in the Library of Babel?
Didn't Jorge Luis Borges have a short story like that?
>>48393012
You made this thread just so you could talk about the Library of Babel, didn't you?
Well I googled that shit. I find the concept interesting, but there is little room for the type of conflict a typical RPG thrives on.
What's to stop the players burning it down ?
Because they will. Probably by accident.
>It's a setting where wizards must strictly adhere to a dress-code
>Player wizard continuously flaunts the dress-code
Is there any way to fix this problem justly?
>>48392942
Have everyone think of him as just some random idiot. If he claims he's a wizard, they laugh at him. Other wizards refuse to help someone so obviously counterfeit.
>>48392942
Don't play Dragonlance.
>>48392962
Are you implying that would be a problem for most players?
They just have to embrace not being seen as a wizard.

I would accept this.
But NWO says never in a standard legal set because Wizards hates fun.
Let's start a brand-new evo game
Rules:
>Open a creature in paint or whatever and give it one evolutionary adjustment at the time
>describe adjustment and upload new image
>every once in a while the environment will shake things up, some creatures will go extinct
>No silly stuff, those won't become cannon
>No 'catching up' and doing a bunch of evo's by yourself, every creature should go through multiple steps by multiple people
>Evolutions shouldn't be to drastic, but you shouldn't bitch about other players 'not being realistic' either
I'll try to make a tree and/or environment image, but all help is welcome!
Lifelink edition.
Give me some advice for this spiciness, my dudes.

>inb4 not meta
It'd be nice to beat the meta with this deck but I understand if it's not possible.
>>48392247
I honestly can't see this list working.
The two main problems are the high mana curve and the type of effects you want to use. From what I'm understanding looking at this list you want to basically use your creatures as removal by giving them deathtouch with enchantements, the problem is that if your opponents removes one of your enchanted creatures he is effectively making you waste at least 2 of your cards with 1 of his own which is a situation you might not want to be in.
>>48392661
Yeah that's a fair assessment. Is it better then to just use deathtouch-having creatures from the start, like Mardu Hateblade and Hand of Silumgar?
>>48392247
I don't really understand what that deck does. If you want to play around with enchantments in pauper outside of boggles, I remember playing against a deck that ran heliod's pilgrim and auramancer to tutor for then recur a varied set of creature removal. Maybe try building around those cards to start?
It's official. They are a thing.

I mean if we're just going by duels teams then gideon and liliana are a thing immediately after that, and then liliana and jace, so apparently the gatewatch is just some kind of daisy chain love fest where no one fucks the elf.
Let me get this straight. The first vampire in World of Darkness, who has all vampire powers at max level and is responsible for the existence of every vampire clan, is the biblical Cain cursed by God? What kind of punishment is that?
I know he can't die and that's horrible for him, but why didn't God just make him an immortal hobo without any other powers, without creating a race of superhuman serial killers? Are human lives worth so little that vampires exist just to have Cain live with more guilt? I don't get it.
Its like how in the mummy they punished the dude by turning him into an immortal super demon.
Mark Rein-Hagen is a terrible writer.

I have no idea how to properly balance spotlight. Every game I run eventually seems to turn into one main protagonist PC and his or her support staff. It switches up from campaign to campaign, but usually there's one person who things start revolving around; usually whomever is most dynamic about character creation and makes someone I can fit well in with the world, which I tend to build as I go.
I've tried compensating by varying things up a bit, but my last campaign, which actually went over pretty well, was explicitly
>Jeff, you haven't been the focal character in a while, is everyone ok if we make his backstory more involved with the main plot?
It's a bad habit. How do I break it?
Anyone?
Dont make the adventure about characters shitty backgrounds
>>48391706
It usually isn't. But someone reacts more to the setting, they get more involved with the NPCs, who in turn get more involved with that character, and you seem to get a Main Hero as the process continues.

In terms of general use in culture and gaming, what is the weapon equivalent of "Aegis"?

shield.
Is there, and when is the right time to abuse player-backstory NPCs, or is it really only appropriate to menace them to goad players into action once or twice in the story, unless that NPC is tied to a plot in an integral way?
>>48389491
Generally, I like to tell PCs whether I'll be using background NPCs, but not when.
One thing I've been hoping for is a chance to have a background NPC that betrays the associated PC, but I feel like that'd get me strangled by an infuriated player.
What if Seinfeld was a medieval adventuring party?
They wouldn't leave the tavern.
>>48389351

>>48389263
If it was an RPG party it would basically just be It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but with murder.
>modern MtG is too broken
I don't get it. Were these guys still in diapers during the era of pre-8th Edition sets? Classic sets can curbstomp opponents every bit as modern sets. Classic sets can even curbstomp modern sets, especially if you exploit obscure keywords that can't be blocked since modern cards no longer have them.

I'm about to start Dming this system, I've gone through the v2 books a few times and was wondering if anyone else has DMed/played it and what their experience was. It seems cool as hell.
>>48388541
You'll probably not get a lot of posts, but my players liked it. We're shelved in an isolated Vaulter's place, where its run by a Vaulter leader named Roland. They're looking for a relic they call Durandal, but they'll find that out later. Gotta finish our other campaign first.
First things first, run the intro campaign, it's really useful and you can decide whether to keep that storyline or not. Haven't run the module though, so I have no advice for it. Make sure you're well versed in the lore, as well as actual locations in Europe (this comes up a lot) and try to make interesting characters. RP is going to happen more than not. I ran a dungeon for my party, and threw some spore beasts as well as a spore mother and it worked well to not do a "map" but leave it cinematic. Their loot was a nice assault rifle and a good handful of ammo, as well as renown. Keep in mind the setting. Good luck anon.

Currently running a campaign of it, expect a few hiccups due to errata, missing information (such as what the Trailblazer free upgrades are, how much a days rations are worth, how much the fees cost to cross the alps etc.) but there's no shortage of story hooks, and the mechanics of the system are good. I've had a lot of fun worldbuilding and homebrewing in it, just be sure to draw up NPC/enemy stats ahead of time, esp. Reaction, Perception, Mobility, Melee/Projectiles, Brawl etc. Also, read up on spore infestation, you want to have something to scare heavily armoured characters (cough, Hellvetics, cough) with.
