A certain percentage of the population has the potential to use magic. IN YOUR OPINION, what is the perfect percentage? 1 in 100? 1 in 10? 1 in 10,000?
>depends on the setting

In games where I run a modern fantasy game in something like D20 Modern, I do 6.66%. Enough that it is a proven reality, and a specific and weird enough number that the Christians lose their shit.
Can we just, like, boycott human male fighters for a while?
>>48388562
...I'm sorry, what are you asking exactly, and what did you hope to accomplish with this thread?
>>48388562
We will tell our males to stop fighting.
And? What's so bad about human male fighters? Is the character and any interactions he makes always horrible because of his class/race/gender combination on the character sheet?
>Setting is post apocalypse, cyberpunk france
>They're currently trying to rebuild the Louvre's collection to restore their culture

>Proles know nothing about it, they are fed the media narrative without question

So are all cryx players shouting their pants and selling their armies because of some nerfs that got sent their way? I've seen an incredible amount of cryx up for sale lately.
>>48380575
banes lost stealth, tough, and got reduced stats.
also some minor nerfs for other infantry
also nerfs for alot of their casters
>>48380575
Well, cryx doesn't got just some nerfs, but was dropped to below average level. So I would think that's a possibility. But in my meta there was no drops from cryx players. In fact, there was only one drop across all factions - from Legion player.

How many dots does your character have in Animal Ken?
>>48367841
To get the kind of near-archmage results you used to be able to tank the extended casting system to do, cast the spell as a ritual, take extra time to do it, and don't cast it by yourself - enlist Order, Cabal, and Legacy members in a team.

I think there was a topic about this before but it is dumb you don't see Lasguns upscaled for Space Marine use. You'd think it'd be a relatively simple thing to do.
>>48390369
Isn't that what a lascannon is?
>>48390369
They don't need to, they have bolters.
Lasguns aren't used because they're the ultimate xeno-stopping weapons. They're used because they're powerful enough while being easy to manufacture, maintain and supply.
Marines however, don't need to worry about those things very much, and so they use bolters.

Considering it's a fictional world and the shit that both Digimon and Homestuck can pull off, you can get everything that you want there.
Okay i need help.
i made these sewer boards for stuff like necromunda, lotr warbands and stuff like that.
The idea is that the top parts of the wall are against a ceiling, so not climbable, and i have made ladders and pieces to block the ladders so you can play each plate as a different floor. the holes can be filled with blocks, but thats all i have so far, blocks or ladders.
now i want to use this for frostgrave but its a little to open for that. so i need ideas for terrain pieces i can make to place around the sewers to block line of sight.
one of the idea i had was placing toxic fume cloud on certain places of the green stuff (not sure how to make this though, maybe a round base with some painted wool)
another was maybe a row of barrels glued together (i have tons of ogre kingdom, so tons of barrels)
another problem i have is that the boards are 24 by 24 inch, while frostgrave is 36 by 36 inch, so i need to somehow show this as well. (or another solution)
>>48400671
This is not a very good idea. Frostgrave's rules don't really support this, unfortunately.
>>48400787
could you specify?
i dont really understand what part of the rules would interfere.
>>48400787

Debris piles for the sewer water - I'm picturing just like a big heap of broken cocktail stirrers or whatever you want to throw in there, sized out so it'll fit in the bigger canals.

I was talking about political polarization with my friend and found this map of the United States. We discussed a bit and a balkanized US would be a pretty interesting setting.
You have a pretty natural balance of power in the West, while the East splits up into a bunch of confederated minors (this is more apparent with regional borders). In the West, no single country would be able to dominate. You have Deseret, Socal, Norcal, Cascadia, and Texas all vying for dominance. New Mexico doesn't have a strong enough economy to stand without depending on a neighboring power, but it has a nuclear bargaining chip to keep autonomy. Because of this, no one will really be able to easily unify the West. In addition, in case of war, the powers are easily able to ally into blocks that check each other. Cascadia would be friendly with Norcal, while Deseret and Texas would buddy up, leaving Socal to stand alone. But Socal has the advantage of currently manufacturing almost a tenth of the world's weapons, allowing it to compensate with pure high-tech firepower. Finally, everyone but Deseret has nukes.
Texas naturally looks eastward to expand its influence, since its Western rivals are strong and the East is weak. It seems that age has given the East the chance to form many more distinct cultures, though they still have regional associations. Given their comparative lack of resources, more distinct cultures, and relative weakness, it seems unlikely that they'd stay freestanding powers like in the West, instead falling into different confederations - one for the North, and one for the South. The politics of the new South would naturally be dominated by its powerful neighbor, Texas. Meanwhile, the North would be dominated by New York.
>>48398065
The Midwest is sparsely populated and would probably be conquered by Deseret and Texas for its farmland.
I'm sure locals of each place could flesh out what would happen in the event of secession. I feel like California could become autocratic pretty quickly since the state government concentrates power in a few hands pretty well, despite the referendums.
Here's a breakdown of countries in the balkanized US. Countries are marked as nuclear-armed if they possess either a national laboratory or nuclear site. The states included are rough because the color boundaries don't match state boundaries precisely.
Cascadia (WA,OR) - NUCLEAR
Norcal (CA) - NUCLEAR
Socal (CA, NV) - NUCLEAR
Texas (TX) - NUCLEAR
Deseret (UT, ID)
Colorado (CO)
Greater Missouri (MO, KS, IL) - NUCLEAR
Little Scandinavia (MN, IA, WI) - NUCLEAR
Great Lakes (WI, IL) - NUCLEAR
Michigan (MI)
Ohio (OH)
Indiana (IN)
North Appalachia (PA, WV) - NUCLEAR (Literally hillbillies with nukes)
Oklahoma-Arkansas (OK,AK) - SOUTH
Cumberland (TN, KY) - NUCLEAR - SOUTH
Carolina (NC, SC) - NUCLEAR - SOUTH
Florida (FL) - NUCLEAR - SOUTH
West Gulf Coast (MS, LA) - SOUTH
East Gulf Coast (AL, GA) - SOUTH
City of New York (NY) - NORTH - NUCLEAR
State of New York (NY) - NORTH
Northeast (ME, NH, VT, CT, RI, MA) - NORTH
Pennsylvania (PA) - NORTH
Federal District (DC, VA, MD) - NUCLEAR
>>48398065
>new york is actually split between upstate and downstate.
