She's not quite "you fucking lose", but she's damn close.

Hits monsters with a poker and isn't afraid of anything.
Also a duchess.

Also, if you did somehow kill or seriously hurt her, you are beyond fucked, because she's got nothing on her grandad.

If I'm looking at it right, it would break the ear drum and dislocate the bones that allow you to hear. Judging by the filename, that's probably intentional.

Post stories of dealing with weird creatures known as Roll20 users.

I once found a guy who would always message me to try and join my games. Whenever I made a game that was public, he would want in, EVERY time.
I said yes once or twice and he was terrible at roleplaying, and didn't know how the website or anything worked, so is stopped letting him in. I checked out his profile later and he had ONLY ever played in my games, or atleast the time was such that if he was in other games, it was only for a few minutes, and kept asking to get into games I made afterwards too. I felt kinda bad, but he was really annoying. I assume that he had just started and wanted to learn better, but it still was weird that he was so cagey.
Also, sorry to have the first post off topic, but something I don't get about roll20:
>give player control to move their character
>it allows them to change anything about their stats

why is this a thing

What are some useful roleplaying notes for portraying a moderately religious, Hindu, female character from Delhi in an urban fantasy setting?

Where can I read advice on portraying such an ethnicity and a religion without devolving into stereotypes?

What are some of the more subtle details to include about their general culture and outlook?

How much does the caste system actually matter? This character was going to be brahmin or kshatriya if it matters, and actually upper-class and wealthy too.

No /pol/ or "designated shitting streets," please. We already know how bad it is.

>>
It depends a bit on what you understand by "moderately", if it by western standards or their standars.

An important facet of her religious life will be purity. Which means that she normally wouldn't want to touch things that are contaminated by lesser castes, especially wouldn't want to eat food that is made by one of the castes below her. If she's westernised she might be more relaxed about such things, but maybe the food might still be a problem.

What god or what pantheon of gods she worships might be a family tradition. Of course they believe all those gods exists, a believer of Vishnu still would pray to Shiva for some ritual or something like this. Though goddesses like Sati and Lakshmi are popular with women and can be their role models.

Hindu religion doesn't offer women much when it comes to afterlife and religious prestige. It's their duty to be the perfect wife for their husband, the greatest joy they could attain is to be placed on their husbands side in heaven. Their greatest duty is to bear a son, because he will continue the family line. If the husband dies before she does, it can be seen as if it was her failure, because they are both connected in a spiritual way. A widow might be regarded as a burden, or even already dead.

There is probably a lot more, but I'm not so big into such ethnographic things.

>if it by western standards or their standars
Probably their standards.
>>
>>48401571
Well then, ask away, but it's not my field of expertise, especially if it's a modern setting.

Oh, something important I forgot! The ideal of beauty for a women is to basically appear as white as possible. I'm not doing some /pol/ stuff here, but she would want to look as pale as she could, all the lower castes, those are the smelly brown people, but if she's a kshatriya or bhraman women, she's one of the aryans, that conquered those brown people long ago! I saw an add once for a skin creme with the desired effect of making the girls less brown. Families advertise their daughters for marriage by commenting how white their skin is. Because Delhi is pretty far up north, she might even have not completely black hair! Blonde is possible, but rare.

Na, Progenitus has protection from it.
>>
>>48399941
What is there to "work"? Progenitus hasn't received errata.
>>
>>48400400
The card is "Play cards as written" + "Ignore all errata". Not "ignore all errata, use errata-less version".
ie. play the cards literally.

Hey /tg/, I want to try and join 40k dice tossing contest and my choice was going for orks.

What is the cheapest way to start an army? Gotta say to start playing you have to ride over a big pay bump. "Start Collecting - orks" has 19 units and their cost is like 300-400 points, so I won't even qualify for 500 bum games. In general, orks seem to be extremely fucked in terms of "point cost/IRL cost".
>Whats the cheapeast way to start an army?>How many models will I need for a 1000 army?

I have a weak spot for shooty approach. Can I somehow make warboss 100% shooty? (`cause every grot knowz dat having lotsa dakka is just pure snazz, cause itz way louda `n flashy den choppy, roight).

Start Collecting! Orks or eBay for AoBR Assault on Black Reach orks or ork players who are quitting and selling huge chunks of models for cheap.
>>
>>48399651
Don't do it. Orks now are the weakest faction.
>>

I don't care about other factions pretty much and care about lore and flavor. Is ork situation really THAT bad? Orks got an updated codex some time ago after all.

Does anyone one here have trouble with players who always play the same character? One of my players, though he plays mechanically different characters, always ends up as a whiny angsty shonen-protagonist type do-gooder. Some of you fine fa/tg/uys complain on this board about incurable murderhobos. This guy is the opposite. Kidnappers, murderers, enemy soldiers, bandits - he's pretty much unwilling to kill any of them, ever, because of muh morals. Even though he knows he's just playing a character.

As a DM, I like to make some enemies understandable and worth sparing. But I also like making some that are just dyed-in-the-wool bad people who probably deserve whatever's coming.

Looking for advice on how to break players out of their ruts and stories about your own DM problems.

Tell him to stop playing the same character over and over.
>>
>>48399071
as a DM, your job is not to force the PC's to do anything you want. Its to build the adventure around them. Have the BBEG they captured escape and go into hiding as he amasses a new army type thing. recurring enemies add flavor to the story.
>tl;dr use the PC's choices to your advantage instead of railroading them
>>
>>48399071
If you're my DM, I'm sorry mang.

But I still think casting hold person and then coup de grace said enemy is evil as fuck, the guy is already out of comission, just let me tie him up. both are full round actions if I'm not mistaken.

I want to make a setting that brings the Age of Imperialism into the "fairy world". Basically it's 'The Hidden Realm', filled with old-style fairies and things from folklore, which the colonial powers are accessing through a mysterious archipelago that emerged in the Atlantic ocean.

Players would form a multinational group of plucky explorers, seeking treasure and glory for King and Country.

I'm leaning towards using Savage Worlds for this, because it seems pretty pulp. What are some interesting concepts that I could turn into mechanics to make it feel more complete with the setting?

>>
So like, a pulp adventure version of Stardust?
>>
>>48398532
I've never actually seen Stardust.

I figured there'd be an independent city that the Imperialists conquered, and it's neutral by treaty. There'd be all these old temples and ancient ruins and maybe even old gods and goddesses who retreated to the mortal world after the ascension of monotheism.

I was thinking about letting players play as Sidhe, which would fill the 'natives' role in the setting, but I don't know how to make them fun and interesting while keeping the normal human invaders fun an interesting.

GURPS

Not kidding. If you want something down to earth with hard limits on what the human body or similar is capable of, then build the game using GURPS.

GURPS is a real pain in the ass to GM though. Too much unnecessary rules.

>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a sixteen year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

Yamcha and Puar leave, and you decide to return to your friends.

Upon returning to the center of the park, you see that Launch and Turtle are talking to one another.

"So I saw Crane Hermit take the two of you," Turtle explains to her as you approach. "And I came here as fast as I could."

"Really?" Launch asks, unconvinced. "Because it seems to me like it took a long time for you to show up."

"I'm a turtle," Turtle reminds her. "I can't move very fast."

You hear Bulma groan from her spot against the tree, and see her open her eyes.

>A. Go see if she's alright

>B. Go thank Turtle for the help

>C. Go check on Goku back at the hotel

>D. Something else

“With all the fighting going on around the northern desert many independent settlements have had their populations evacuated or displaced. There are a lot of people looking to make it across the desert over to Landum and Qadrus. The IF taskforce has most of it’s units tied up pushing back NORD and Anuncia leaving the refugee convoys exposed to bandits. Noblesse Oblige has stepped in and spread it’s forces across the northern desert to establish escort corridors. We’ll be securing one such corridor. Evacuation trucks will be coming in through the area and you’re to make sure no harm comes to them.”

“In the event that bandits do attack you need to be on the look out for AFVs and large mega cavalry with infantry on them. If such vehicles get close enough to the convoy vehicles they’ll send their infantry to hijack the vehicle and take the occupants hostage. Once that happens there’s nothing you can do unless you have a canister gun and a steady hand. Aside from that the bandits are unlikely to field anything that can pose a threat one on one but be careful you don’t get focussed down by LAV swarms. Mega cavalry can get dangerous up close as they often have multiple riders with satchel charges with the odd mounted weapon. There’s also the animal itself to worry about.”

“Terrain is mostly sand dunes, at their highest they block line of sight and at medium levels they’ll make things harder to hit. Vehicles will have some difficulty driving up them but mecha and mega fauna do not suffer from this. Since we need to secure the area there are a lot of potential deployment zones to choose from. Be on guard for hostiles coming in from all sides. With any luck this section of the desert will stay quiet.”

>Deployment will begin after everyone has posted their build.
