I have not, mostly because I don't think running a magical realm campaign is feasible for me, but have you considered that you put extra effort in due to the anticipation and the extra care and attention to detail made the campaign more engaging in general?

If it's carrying it with them, as long as it's not cumbersome, it was common for a very long tine for officers in modern armies well into the time of automatic weapons to get swords.

If you mean use in battle, they would need to either have armor that defeats current ranged weapons, or not go to war. In a realistic sense, anyway, if it's ca-razy, then just any kind of supertech will do.

i am new to 4chan and was told this is where i can discuss warhammer 40k fluff. If i'm wrong then please direct me to the right part of 4chan.


So i have been into warhammer 40k for a few years now but havent yet played the game because "freakin expensive i dont got that kinda money" reasons. As such i mostly read the books, wikipedia, video games, and the 4chan tg wiki when i found it by accident when looking up Matt Ward.

Something though that has had me wondering though abbout the cannon is the topic of mutants in the Imperium. Clearly some are accepted due to being useful but most are killed or shunned. As such with Sanguinius having wings that would technically mean he is a mutant... Besides all the Primarch stuff that is. So with him being such a strongly revered being in the Imperium how would they react to someone who was born with wings? Burn them at the stake? Accept them? Shun them? Meh? Rever them as a saint or something?

What would you guys say?

Knowing the Imperium, there will be always that guy who thinks that the guy with angelic wings is actually a daemon in disguise, and in the universe of 40K is very likely he is correct in his paranoia.
The only people with wings accepted are the Living Saints, ancients heroes who returned from the dead by their faith in the Emperor.

This is the right place, welcome home.

The problem is that you're thinking of two different things here: human/mutant conflict, and human/space marine conflict.

Mutants are abhorred in the Emperor's guiding light because they corrupt the gene pool. Space Marines (and specifically Primarchs) are both infertile and genetically modified, so they're already fairly different and "holy" in a way. The added wings for one single, infertile Primarchs isn't exactly going to make him abhorrent to his father, especially since the real judge in the 40k universe on the perceptions of important figures is shaped by the Church more than reality.

If others were born with wings there would not be the same kindness, a mutant is a mutant.

So pretty much depending on how, when, and/or where will influence the chances of survival into adulthood. Though because of grimdark that still leaves you with low odds of survival.

In theory, not having instants in a card game lets you increase complexity in other areas without overloading the game, but are there games where that's actually the case and they're not just simplified all-around?

All the LCGs have a lack of instant speed plays, but usually have reactions, that are played in response to some criteria.

Deadlands worked much the same way.

VS actions tend to be discreet.

DBZ didn't really have instants.

I don't remember instant speed being a thing in UFS.

Pokemon has no instant speed that I can think of.

All these game are legit in strategy and card design.

The setting is fun for high adventure, but it can be a bit retarded sometimes.

Mechanics are clunky and will slow combat down, but you get used to it.

Character creation is fucking amazing, you can make absolutely anything. Be careful of minmaxers, they can break the game.

Overall: 8.5/10 would play again

None because my players are assholes who trip over each other trying to snipe the bad guy if he says more than two words to them.

Then started complaining when I started giving him bulletproof escape plans should that happen(because being an intelligent tactician is part of the BBEG's character and personality, and he learned after the first time that they'll basically try to murder him if they're in the same room given the chance.)

And of course complained more when one of them wanted to do this big monologue and got shot at by the hostile enemies he was attempting to monologue at. The irony was completely lost on them.

That's one reason I like sci-fi campaigns. The enemies can taunt the PCs over radio, leaving them unable to shoot him mid taunt.

Any model may replace its Twin-linked Heavy Flamer with a Twin-linked Heavy Bolter or Twin-linked Multi-Melta. Any model may replace its Hurricane Bolter with a Missile Launcher. Any model may take Stabilizing Servos (Grants Slow and Purposeful).

I can understand wanting Centurion suits to stay with the Space Marines but I think it could fill a niche of heavy shock troops that the Sisters lack. The Space Marines have Terminators and the Imperial Guard have Ogryns.

Another thing, have you considered making Artificer Armor an upgrade that's only available to command squads and HQ choices? Not even the Space Marines can widely equip themselves with Artificer armor and it doesn't make sense that the Sisters have more access to it than space marines.

Has anything heavier than a rhino chassis been considered for vehicles? I know Preds are a Space Marine thing, but the Infernus or Ba'al pred seems right up their alley. Also boltcannons (S6 AP3) seems like they could find a home here, don't ask me where, but they seem to fit the theme.

One last dumb idea, in keeping with new thematic weaponry, (IE, Frost cannons for Wolves) why not give the sisters a sort of thermal ray gun? S7 AP1, Lance or Armorbane maybe? Something that lets them reach out and touch vehicles without completely overshadowing melta's power. Just a thought.
