Did Worm post that thing with S&S that he talked about yet? I've missed a couple of threads.

He is working on updates for two jumps so it might take a while.

I thought it was only gonna be a post?
The distant sounds of drones echoes from beyond the doors of the negotiation chamber within your grand Hive ship as the human standing before your drone shifts under your gaze. Your speaker chitters as it hoists itself up and folds its hind legs together into a bipedal stance with several loud cracks of chittin. “Your representative is not needed.”
“I assure you, it's a matter of mutual convenience.” Morgan says. “To prevent misunderstandings and-”
“The Hive has one.” Your speaker says. “A better one.” Morgan looks back to the others in momentary confusion as a door flexes open across the chamber and Lee walks through as it flexes shut behind him, sealing out the sounds if distant hive drones throughout the ship's countless halls.
“Hello.” Lee says quickly as he gives a short wave. “It looks like you're in the middle of something. Don't mind me.” He adds as your speaker leans in closer to Morgan.
“Humans have involved themselves in the Hive's affairs. You are fortunate we choose to allow it.”

Why haven't you done anything fun with Kuo-TOans yet?
>>48516302
Because I've got no game.

Here's a really fun adventure that involves Kuo-Toas worshiping one of the PCs. My group had a lot of fun with it.
But I did. I used them in my first custom dungeon.
The PCs found a large black meteor in a crater-formed lake. It was carved open by some Basilisks and a Bulette, and was now home to a Medusa, who guarded over the prison of the avatar of a death god foreign to the PC's world.
The avatar of the death god's prison would lay claim to mortals who approached it, and those mortals would strengthen the prison from within. The avatar communed with the Medusa, and convinced the Medusa to keep mortals out until such a time as a party strong enough to free the avatar could be summoned. Because of the Medusa's curse, the medusa could not herself enter the prison.
However, the Kuo-Tua, being religously attuned, felt the death god's presence, and burrowed under the meteor from the Underdark. However, they were weak, and would not have been able to free the avatar, only strengthen its prison.
My PC's negotiated with the Medusa, killing the Kuo-Tua and freeing the avatar. The avatar, the Medusa, and the undead, animated Kuo-Tua then headed off to the Underdark, to spread the death god's cult.
At some point there's gonna be a whole lot of zombie fishmen who are gonna show up.

The Nexus Police Citadel lords over all but the highest corporate plazas that bathe it in shadows. The building rises on skeletal splints that rise into towering spires with recessed faces. A circular window near the top shines with light casting the police's symbol of the black rabbit on the white moon for miles. Muscular statues of archaic spacemen and miners erupt from the four supporting columns and heroically hold up the headquarters of communal justice.
All while shadows from the corporate canopy blanket it.
Justice is not absolute in Nexus. You are living proof of that. Just miles away and moments ago you sold your fixer to a strange man who did not give you his name for the promise of 50 credits.
50 credits that go into your pocket. Not the fund shared by you and your dads.
You don't know what's the cops problem. Why do they got such a stick up their ass? Maybe you can find out today.
>>48519018
Good to see this up again, though Lesath is very much fooling herself in thinking that getting 50 credits like that is going to be an easy set up.
I am severely worried about the consequences that will be coming our way after this police visit.
Couple of additional asides. I'm glad that at least we are able to get our fixer back, I happened to like that weapon a lot. I was worried it was going to be a fortune as a primary weapon.
And Sherry Data needs to be added to Fox Fire's Pastebin. And Lesath's but I always say that.
>>48519243
She'd have to be hacked before that happens. She was on top last night.
We don't have our fixer back. We sold it. We're walking around without it now.
>>48519179
She's sort of feeling a little good about it, because she made the deal by herself without the dads and as far as she knows she's making "beat Fox Fire" levels of cash from an easy transaction.
The citadel doesn't have doors. It has depots. Tower bridges lead to floating checkpoints where passengers are searched and organized into trains that will take them where they need to go inside the citadel proper. Your train pulls into one depot and you mingle with a crowd of orange colored and clad robots and humans herded by policemen with handheld neural commanders.
You're never going to become one of them.
You follow the instructions on the card. You walk up to kiosk and place the card into a slot. The card vanishes inside the machine and you hear radios clicking on and off inside it.
You don't get the card back.
A small single car train comes out of the citadel and parks between the others.
Your ride.
GET ON THE TRAIN?
THIS IS TOO SCARY TURN BACK?

how well does gruul hold up when up against blue/green/black or whatever the tryhardiest set up is
>>48517538
It depends. If you've put significant effort into fucking with the blue mage, you're gonna hurt their efforts because black and green are usually there for support (tutoring, removal, ramp), so your stuff like Ruric and Spellbreaker is still gonna bitch-slap their counters. They'll be able to answer your creature-based-interference more easily than if they were mono-blue, but it's still gonna slow them down.
They can overpower you, but they'd have to be devoting pretty much all of their resources to disrupting you specifically, at which point they lose to one of the other two players. So, Pyrrhic victory for you.
How do you all feel about Planeswalkers being commanders? Do you think the Rules Committee would ever go for it? Do any stick out as "too good" for it to be repeatedly cast? Like Karn? Is it even worth the trouble?
Hi /tg/, I've just started getting into the lore of Warhammer 40k. Been reading bits and pieces of it in the lexicanum wiki and might get the books soon. I ran into something that confuses me though, and I was hoping the more knowledgeable among you can enlighten me: were the Eldar created by their gods, or the Old Ones? What are their gods anyway, and are they related to the Chaos gods? I know I'm probably missing something basic.
Eldar created by old ones
Eldar gods like the avatar also created like the old ones.
Eldar made slaanesh by being degenerate on a galactic scale. Now they suffer in every way except rules.
>>48512946
I see. So the Eldar gods are like, (please pardon the term) "Super Eldars" or something which were created by the Old Ones to minister over the Eldar race? Were they created the same way and from the same stuff as the chaos gods and creatures of the warp, or from something totally different?
Thank you for taking the time to answer noob questions!
The Eldar got "adopted" by the Old Ones like the Necrons. The Eldar have their own gods, but most of them are dead by present-day 40k. Their gods come from the same basic psychic plane as the chaos gods (e.g. They work off of faith and psychic conduits), but they aren't chaos. They downright hate the stuff.
Your drones skitter through the air vents of the apartment building, peering in on the rather luxurious accommodations within as the human Dr. Litchman looks with concern at the news, rapidly flipping through channels as various news stations offer half-answers and canned explanations as fleets of Union ships continue to take flight from distant space ports along the horizon and hulking picket ships hover like massive chandeliers in the sky over the city as they slowly move climb into a low orbit.
“We still have yet to receive any information regarding the deployment of PDF forces across the system, and a standing media blackout would prevent us from legally providing such information regardless, however we have received word from the BFI that all interstellar quantum comm networks have been ordered to initiate what they refereed to as an 'AAII' protocol, or 'anti-artificial intelligence intrusion', leading us to speculate that Union officials are responding to a potential widespread attack or threat of one from the machine intelligence kno-” The news channel flickers several times before cutting to static, and eventually is replaced with a solid blue screen and a monotone beep as Litchman turns to the sound of screaming outside. He quickly moves to the window and looks down to see several cars impacted together in a pile at an intersection as people gaze up at the sky as a growing sound of rolling thunder echoes across the city. He looks up himself, and quickly flees, sealing the window in a panic as dozens, hundreds of ships blink into the upper atmosphere of Gemini, their silhouettes filling the sky and their drives flashing like lightning over the city.

I guess it comes down to where does your party get most of its enjoyment? Because it's definitely not in the middle of combat encounters.

If you can't even be assed to type it out.
No.
I want to play a Lord of the Rings RPG. Problem is, there's quite a few of them out there. The One Ring is the most recent iteration, but is it the best?
>>48490904
I've always liked the CODA system myself, but to be honest, I don't think LoTR is a great setting to roleplay in unless you want to do a very limited, marginal adventure, which isn't what people who want to play LoTR are usually looking for.
>>48490926
I've always enjoyed the Hobbit-esque side adventures (battle of five armies notwithstanding) more than the "and then ten million elves faced off against ten bazillion orcs" bits of the setting, so that sounds exactly what I'm looking for.
>>48490904
Honestly?
The best RPG for playing LotR would be Fellowship.
No, it's not a LotR roleplaying game. But it captures the concept well, and you get to build your own setting... so just build Tolkien's, and you're good.

The fear from Julio's neighbors got you psyched up, you don't think you can stand still. It feels like you can jump buildings in a single bound, so you give an experimental hop. That's dissapointing. Reigning in your distraction, right now there are a few options on the table. You could just walk to 7th Street to talk to the boss, he wanted you ASAP. But you don't know how long this rush will last.
Obviously he would understand if you took the night off after literally dying. Maybe you could hunt down that imposter and bring the boss his head on a platter. That or information on the guy. Of course you could actually take the night off and practice your abilities to impress the boss in the morning. Sleep would probably be good for you, but maybe you don't need sleep anymore, who knows?
The street is almost deserted, the neon badges no longer flash "Open" in the stores, and the rain is now pouring. Pavement echoes with the pitter-patter of a machine gun spray of water, bringing back memories of simpler times, back when you were young and angry. Well, you're still both of those things, so maybe you should just let that instinct in.

Ok /tg/ brainstorm time. I recently fell in love with a girl I met through a gaming group. I feel she is literally my dream girl and can't stop thinking about her. However due to an incident at the gaming table I stopped talking to the GM of that game. Today the group meets for a session and I'm thinking about a way to try and get her attention, the LGS is currently the only place I get to see her and even then its pretty scarce. Will you dare help me woo this fine young lass?
