Anyone got good references for vehicle building?
One of the settings I'm working on currently is a Madmaxian junkpocalypse with vehicle building. Taking heavy strides from Fury Road, I'm making up things in a way that you're never supposed to stop. Meaning it's possible to change almost any part of the machine without stopping. Maybe even tires, with some sort of multi-tire mechanisms where you have two sets of front tires, and if one breaks, you raise that set up from ground while you change / fix it.
Currently vehicles have stats like Top Speed / Acceleration / Handling (The basic ones)/ Offroad / Fuel Usage / Hull Toughness / Internal toughness.
Currently my system is roll two stats + modifiers against target number, so when using vehicles, it would be rolling the stat you use for driving (Usually Intuition) and the car's appropriate stat.
My game also has 'Stat Upkeep' on characters, that mean you have reduced exp gain if your stats are above certain threshold (You have to train to keep your body / mind in shape). I thought that with the car, it would then be replaced with internal toughness. Meaning the more you minmax the car, the weaker internal toughness it has, making it very prone to problems.

I've tinkered with the idea of implementing stamina from dark souls in a way that doesn't use dice pools. Not successful, though not due to avoiding dice pools.

Now before you say STALKER has nothing to do with Yog-Sothothery, I see it as only being a step removed. Instead of having the C-Consciousness causing harm to the noosphere or collective unconscious, they accidentally created a connection with Azathoth or Yog-Sothoth. The connection is mostly closed now, but the blowouts are simply a bit of the Outer God 'escaping' only to disappate quickly. Or even easier, the experimentation with human psychic potential was another of Nyarlathotep's games. First he teaches how to split the atom, then how to master the mind. The Monolith is a proto-cult, a doubly unaware of what they truly worship.
>>48507315
Just because things are inspired by Lovecraft, Smith, Howard doesn't mean you have to specifically use the actual forces of the mythos. Some of my favorite DG/CoC games are ones that are only vaguely connected with actual Yog-Sothothery, if at all.
>>48507404
Of course not, but sometimes people want a clear connection, even if the PCs never learn of it. Though explaining the whole concept of the Zone might be a waste of time if the players are not somewhat familiar. Ah well.

I thought more that vortex grenades are already described in RT Faith and Coin, and in the tabletop it gains the vortex rule. Wouldn't it be more logical to adapt already existing RPG mechanics?
That question is more out of curiosity to understand your thought process.

Okay anons, I wanted to grimdark but my party is trying to go full noblebright. Has someone already been confronted with this? How did you solve it?
Long story short, I had planted a horrible scene with lots of dead Eldar and even an agonizing baby because that's what your rogue trading ass gets, as a warning that there were DE in the vicinity. Through a magical save roll of 1 the magos biologis and medic managed to save the kid and they gathered the soulstones and want to "do the right thing" and bring all that back to some other Eldar.
I'm completely torn between a "it's not that kind of game" thing and reminding them there is such a thing as "kill the xenos, purge the heretic", OR going fuck it, it's a nifty side quest thing, letting them have some ray of sunshine Star Trek moment even if it's not fucking canon. What do.
So I want to make the strongest character I can in only war on account of our bloodthirsty GM and I want to know what power tastes like

*I don't like this at all, freeloader* Krovachi hisses in my head, waking me up into the dry morning air, my wings feel all tingly and my eyes is burning a bit more than it usually does.
I sit up and rub my normal eye, What are you complaining about now? Also did you have to wake me up? It's way to early to be up ya know.
*I don't like being treated like this, also, stop whining, sleep is a commodity that can be lost at any moment*
I look around the small room In the cathedral the council's been forcing me to sleep in after they figured out me and my friends were staying in the cheapest in town.
*Yeah yeah, I just don't trust it, Since you've been pissing people off with how much you just love monsters*
Oh please, I stretch and yawn, and unfurl my wings as I walk over the white marble, in the other wise plain room...well besides the fountain and hanging lanterns, its basically empty. They wouldn't do anything, no ones stupid enough to try to hurt an angel in a city of fanatics.
*If they can get away with it* She growls, as I look out of the only unstained and painted window of the room, out to the streets way...way below where I've been sleeping *They will try...we should kill the ones who might, just to keep ourselves safe*
I pull the curtain closed as I turn back to my basically empty room. Well, its a lovely day, so no reason to listen to your crazy ass
* I may be crazy, but I"m usually right, dumbass*
Sure you are.

I'm getting ready to run an OD&D campaign. I wanted to run a houserule past you guys; this one bolts on a new subsystem.
>Filth Points
Adventurers are likely to accumulate Filth points during their adventures.
When a character's Filth exceeds their Constitution score they are likely to contract some disease.
Adventures gain 1 Filth point when they sleep outside without a bedroll
Adventurers gain 2 Filth points when they sleep underground without a bedroll, or 1 Filth point when they sleep underground with a bedroll
Adventurers gain 1 Filth point whenever they perform an unclean act, such as looting or otherwise handling a dead body
Adventurers gain 1 Filth point whenever they are splashed with blood; this occurs when the adventurer slays an enemy in melee with an edged weapon. Blunt weapons such as maces can be used to kill enemies in melee without being splashed with blood.
Filth points can be removed by washing up in a wilderness hotspring or a town bath-house.
Thoughts?
I like the idea. Not sure on the numbers though.
>>48539106
Too high? Too low?
This is OD&D, so I'm still assuming long dungeon-slogs here and heroes that only bathe a couple of times a month at best.
Perhaps items like soap could be used to remove a couple of points of Filth here and there.
Also, clean adventurers (no filth) get a bonus to Charisma.
>>48539076
I'd like everything about this if it didn't seem like an excuse for you to shoehorn in periodic Hot Spring Episodes. Since it does, though, I'd pretty much rather saw my foot off.

[Vice-Commander]
What about the Evas? Which one are combat-ready?
[Head, Finance Division]
Both Evangelion Unit 03 and 08 are at full health. However, we did not have enough budget to repair their auxiliary armor plating upgrade.
[Vice-Commander]
And Eva Unit 01? I’ve been reading reports that it will be operational ‘’soon’’ for weeks now.
[Head, Science Division]
Now, now. Evangelion Units are complex, yet delicate tools. It takes time and expertise to fully repair one. We’ve been able to completely regrow the upper torso, head and arms but we’ve encountered some… irregularities with the synchronization systems. The Sixth Child can successfully synch with it, but during the tests we’ve observed some random, drastic desynchronization spikes.
It is operational, in a way, but let me warn you, Vice-commander. This unit will be unreliable if you do launch it. I'd recommend sortieing the Sixth Child in Unit 08 and the First Child in Unit 03.
[Vice-commander]
R&D?
[Head, Research & Developement Division]
My teams have been working since the attack on the Reverse-engineered A.T. Bombs, as you asked.
Since they were first designed to be launched from bomb-bays we had to modify them. As of now, 7 of them are able to be launched from our city’s Static Weapon Systems. I know it’s not much- but we expect to have 3 more before the end of the day.
[Head, Finance Division]
The Static Weapon System had to be modified too. It’ll show on our next funding allocation.
Only two of them can fire A.T. Ordinance – The ones in Industrial 02 and Residential 05.
The good news is that, contrary to what I thought, they won’t cost more money to operate- they still require 1 Funding Unit, as always.

Hey there, friend anon. Are there any, ahem, canonical parameters to sector sizes? From what I've gathered, each sector seems to contain some 100-200 Imperial worlds, but the actual physical size seems to vary from something like 200 light years diameter to 1500 light years diameter. Any thoughts on this?
Also, to contribute, let's say the sector is plagued by raiders from the nearby Maelstrom. And squats! Homeworlds with squats!
>>48523118
Not sure about the size of the sector.
Probably about 500LY, but chalk full of planets, seeing as how it's that close to the core.
>And squats! Homeworlds with squats!
I like the cut of your jib, lad.
Let's say there's a colony of Squats who have been hunkering down for a while, trying to rebuild their once great civilization. What do you name their world?
>plagued by raiders
is this going to be orks, or d eldar, or chaos?
At any rate, I'm plopping down forge world Xiphon, making the majority of arms for the sector, as well as the necessary mining tools.

This game is ass. Is there any deck that doesnt need X card or cards in opening hand to be viable? The inclusion of lands in the main deck is just stupid. There is just way to much variance for this to really be competitive.
Play merfolk? Better scoop if you do t have vial in opening hand, same if landless, or to many lands, etc etc etc
Play tron? Better have a way to get tron done in opening hand or scoop.
BTW your deck needs to be at least 600 bucks thanks.
Also matches can take hours. How can this be fun to anyone with a functioning brain?
