Fair enough, I just really enjoy shutting down a lot of decks, had a game where my opponent conceded after a T1 chalice on 1, revealing a hand of DRS, 2 Brainstorm, some fetches and a Delver, was pretty funny.

Here's a question:
Against combo decks like Belcher, Oops, TES and ANT do I put the T1 on the play Chalice on 1 or 0? How about on T1 on the draw after they played a Petal or something? I want to shut out rituals but if they can get to 5 and Ad Naus then they can win off Moxes.

V20 game set in Chicago, I'm playing a Brujah based loosely on a combination of evilHal from Being Human and Cassidy from Preacher(both the comic and tv show versions of him, not that there's a whole lot of difference in their general demeanor).

There are a lot of red flags to watch out for in new D&D players:

> children ("oh sorry I can't come this weekend I have to watch the little guy while my wife is out fucking other men")
> part-time job with unstable schedules ("oh sorry I can't come I have to work that night")
> women ("oh teehee which one is the d20 again?")
> fat people ("oh did I eat all the potato chips? heh, sorry")
> anime faggots ("why won't you let me base my characters off of helsing??")
> people who laugh too much ("lololol I want to play a retarded bard with 5 Int HAHA I ROLLED A NATURAL 20 YOU HAVE TO LET ME DO IT")
> edgelords ("but drow are a core race now. why can't I play one? what do you mean I'll get lynched in every fucking village I go to??")
> gay people ("but the book says I can play as a gay man! I'm gonna go hit on every man in teh city to make the DM uncomfortable. Wait why is my character getting stabbed to death by the town guard??")
> New DMs ("lol so I'm going to basing this campaign off of Skyrim")

Fuck em. All of em. This really should be added as a sticky in advice for DMs of which players to avoid.

The thing with Tangle Wire is you're always going to be tapping essentially 2 less permanents than your opponents, because you remove a counter before you have to tap down your stuff, and you tap Tangle Wire to itself.

Boon of Emrakul applies in layer 7c, which makes your Tree a 3/17. Not a list but I am Building a freeguild army that pulls double duty for a empire of Sohnstall army and I am currently at:

up to 18 pikemen (spears) 12 crossbowmen and 12 handgunners
from an order of perry European mercenaries 1450-1500
12 Perry 1450-1500 mounted Men at arms to convert to Reiksguard
1 empire cannon kit
a box of 10 state troops to model
2 frostgrave elementalists to make Bright wizards or bright plus another appropriate mage

and I guess I am forced to get the Empire general or equivalent model to make freeguild army work.

I need help deciding what to add on what to get to complete my "army", freeguild+empire AoS operates like 40k guard without vehicles so I probably need to max out the spears, handguns, and crossbows but I have yet to get the Perry minis I got so I don't know if ordering another box is the best bet since they are my first foray into Perry. Not opposed to GW kits, just cutting corners and I am interested in Frostgrave as well so it is easy for me to justify using Frostgrave kits or Frostgrave convertable kits. Probably getting a GW war alter or a celestial hurricanum have to look it up again and a kit of Frostgrave enchanters to make warpriests out of. I am also keeping an eye out for Luthor Huss and Marius Leitdorf kits since I like them from the fluff.

Have a semi-competitive 1,500 point Maelstrom game with a friend coming up, my IG vs his DE. The table has plenty of cover/ruins and terrain big enough to hide skimmers. I expect him to bring lots of Lance Ravagers, haywire Scourges and Venoms carrying as many blasters possible.

I'm also not very experienced with Maelstrom. Do I have enough units to take and hold objectives? I'm thinking the CAD can be mobile and push to get me VP from tactical objectives. The CCS can come help once the Manticore is dead or out of missiles and use Target Sighted for twin-linked meltaguns.

Outside Pask, you can't deal with 2+ save models very well.
Drop the mech vets for an Executioner and turn the CAD into a tank company. The 12" bubble Pask gives to the other Russ will help them out a bit.
Some tech-priests with some grease monkeys couldn't hurt either.

Dungeon World or Savage Worlds. Both are rules light and aren't attached to any specific setting, meaning you can add a bit of "Like Harry Potter but kinda looks like Hunger Games" and run with it.

Just use Dungeon World. Filling in a character sheet is just straight up filling in a form, don't even need to look at the rules.

I have strong opinions on Dungeon World's inferiority to other games in certain areas and its design flaws, but I seriously can't think of a better starter game.
