Nigga, you just posted my favorite card art. I like you. Also, I play ANT. Thinking of building D&T.
I would very much to buy into legacy and I am looking in particular at Enchantress.
How shit is is exactly (I know it's not super competitive) and how expensive would it be, assuming I have 4 enchantresses?

Brilliant thinking.
I don't know why we're all not running Karns, we have all the time and mana in the world to accomplish anything we want.
Is "scientification" of fantasy pretensious?
I mean explaining how fantasy creatures etc work, how dragons can breath fire in biology way instead of just "it's a magic". Also design fantasy creatures more natural and "it's not true, that's only what paesants belive"
It's kinda bad, but there are much worse things.
I find it rather fun.

Certainly too much to make an army of.
As a supplement they apparently work... But personally I wouldn't want to take an FA 7 tank with a comet's point-cost.

Why are manticores so based?
8th level shadow monk/assassin here. We're about to start and the GM is letting us have two uncommon magical items at his discretion. Are the Boots of Elvenkind overkill when I have an 11 in stealth and can cast Pass Without Trace? I feel like having a 21 stealth should be enough to make the Boots redundant, but I do like being a master of sneakiness.
How would you include monstergirl/boy races in 5e?

I would view anyone who wanted to play one of them with huge suspicion and if GMing, would probably boot them out of the game at the first sign of the inevitable magical realm bullshit

I think the Dothraki were largely intented to die in huge numbers while causing lots of infrastructure problems that each Kingdom would have to face along as King's Landing would get cut off, in addition to loyalist lords (such as the Crackclaw Point Houses and ALL of Dorne) basically made the situation even harder for them.
I think the Dothraki were meant to mostly die in huge numbers but be a huge pain on the ass, then suddenly a pair of Targaryens come out of fucking nowhere to save everyone from the incompetent Baratheons and Lannisters would couldn't protect their own people.
It's a plan that is both callous and unecessarult duplicitous and complex, which therefore means of kinda fits Varys perfectly.

Don't like 4e and mostly play Warhammer RPGs but I was confused when I found they only had 5 alignments whilst reading wiki entries on monsters prepping for my first 5e game.
My question is, why make Good and Law so close and not pull the opposite, making it just Lawful Evil\Evil and Chaotic Good\Good?
>have you tr-

Stupid, but bad ideas are more interesting to play with than dismiss out of hand if you're going to have to live with them in the same spaces you are anyway.
>>48609518
>Why make Good and Law so close?
Why make Chaos and Good so close?
At least Lawful Good has the presumption of following a moral code.
Hell, Lawful Evil could arguably be presented as less Evil than Neutral Evil because at least Lawful Evil has consistent standards they consciously uphold.
Alignments are fine. Have you tried playing D&D?
>>48609518
The Good/Evil axis was a mistake. Lawful-Neutral-Chaotic or nothing.

Question of the thread -- Have you ever DMed or played in an OSR game where two or more player characters became extremely good friends and even seemed willing to sacrifice their lives for one another?
Theme song of the thread -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsBKM5puZDM
>>48593055
>not fond character death
Is character death really that big a part of OSR? Character expendability is really high at low levels, sure, but D&D gives you "Raise Dead" or some variant of it accessible by level 7, and it's not beyond possibility of finding (potentially cursed) items and artifacts that do the same.
>>48593902
LotFP doesn't have Raise Dead, and Basic Fantasy RPG does, so it's a matter of whether or not the spell is even included in a particular OSR game. In BFRPG's case, that's a 5th level spell, which requires a Cleric to survive that long. It also reduces the raised character by an entire level, so it's not exactly without cost.
So asked in the old thread how to OSR sci fi right at the end, so I will ask again on the fresh one. While I have fantasy old school gamed before, I have never done sci fi in such a manner, what exactly are the themes one should head for?
