Who has been your scariest villain so far?
My Scariest villain so far is an Illithid Warlock, having made a pact with the Eldest Aboleth. He then walked that path until lichdom, becoming an Alhoon, leading the cult of the Eldest Eye.
His overall goal is the full awakening of the eldest, to bring about a horrifying vision of paradise that only total universal destruction can bring, and has met the party several times, stolen a magical crystal of colossal translocation magic power, and when the party eventually manages to defeat him, the warlock in the party will have a Strong compulsion to pick up the eye of the eldest - as it's an artefact warlock only implement, and he's already Star-Pact with a rival star god.
Things ought to get interesting,

That's a pretty solid option for mid-level moon druids.

They made a conscious choice to reach out to their unspoken majority of fans who are oppressed by the rpg market in general
>>48631899
How so?
>>48631866
It's much more inclusive.
The world of Calera was heavily polluted, only the most dangerous of areas such as the volcanic ridges that dotted the continent free of the taint of necrotic industry. Gargoyles sailed out to search for locations of interest or possible hide-outs should the boiling valley be compromised.
Diggers bored through volcanic stone, occasionally breaking into old lava tubes or unearthing new wells of boiling water. Stacks of metal ingots were stacked alongside tanks full of necrotic biomass, the first harvests from the catoblepas processed by the frigates Cauldron.
You sat in the bridge looking over a map that was slowly being pieced together by the gargoyles reconnaissance and the testimony of the three human captives still held in the storage closet. Occasionally you glanced through the sight of the gargoyles as you thought over the strange encounter with the enigmatic Masked.
Looking through the large eye of a gargoyle perched in a twisted tree you see a small village spread out in a valley spread around several large mines. A large structure towers over the settlement with several small floating trade barges moored to piers. Distracted by your thoughts you nearly miss a flicker of energy among the outskirts where the gargoyle perched.
Focusing intently the Reconstructed slithers through the branches to get a clear look and there at the metal wall of the city where a drainage pipe dumped sludge into a polluted stream you spot movement. One of the tripodal Natives, hopping off its large blunt foot and swinging on its long arms flees from the pipe toward the trees. There was shouting on the other side of the wall, cries of thief and rebel. Your gargoyle followed the panting creature as it fled into the trees and you could hardly believe your luck.
The native pauses and glances back to stare at the gargoyle with what could possibly be shock on its beaked face. To your sightless gaze its body pulsed with Voidlight curling around it with unrecognized potential.

You are the Voidknight Disciple, a nameless hero of the New Necrotic Armada, far flung from your comrades.
Previously you assessed your surroundings and began mining and construction of a temporary base to resupply. Your prisoners were interrogated and you learned you were on the planet of Calera held under the sway of a powerful necrotic force called the Council.
You were interrupted by a meeting with the enigmatic Masked entity and they gave you a short history lesson on the world before presenting you with a challenge. The Council was in fact a lingering offshoot of the old Necrotic Armada and formed of necromancers that had discovered a fragment of the Wormstars corpse. Using it to fuel their own power they took control and now exist as twisted shapers of flesh and torment, creating a foul city held aloft by the power of the dead gods corpse.
They challenged you to claim the fragment through wit, guile, or force to return to Jadyk and you gladly accepted.

>The character in this image kills 'ghosts' for a living.
What did WotC mean by this?
It means she has limited utility and is literally a check-box committee character they'll only whip out at very specific, choreographed times.
It means she's paid to kill ghosts?
Evidently, being a ghost hunter is a real profession in some planes.
They mean get bent, fagballs!
Why does /tg/ hate weebs again? I've never had a problem with most people that like anime or stuff like that in my games. Is this just a meme or have people had legit bad experiences with weebs?
>Why does /tg/ hate weebs again?
It doesn't.
It's just two or three trolls.
Now, delete your pointless thread that those trolls will use to broadcast their idiotic views.
>>48621332
>tfw weeb now means anything Japanese
that's not the word means and I hate it.
>>48621440
>that's not what the word means
Weeaboo is a made-up word that /tg/ has given meaning: If you can't talk about traditional games without using engrish and/or kanji to sperg about ninjas, katanas or cartoon pedophilia involving loli ninjas with gigafolded katanas, you're a weeb. JRPGs are a bad enough pox on this board without weebs putting BEs and a SM on 40k and D&D.
Also, fuck off back to /jp/ and kys. TIA
Pick a faction. To play there are rules, and it is up to you to read them, as well as pay attention to the thread.
FOR YOUR ROLL TO COUNT
>it must be linked to mupdate
>you must have a history appropriate name in the Signature
>You must have clear instructions
>you must have a minimum 1 line of RP
No mass ceding, case by case is ok, but it must be narrative and a part of diplomacy.
Passage requires one turn, regardless of how many Ts are between points A and B.
Sea Travel costs 1 T per tile. No exceptions.
We will begin once there are 4 rollers. OP will only play if we need more factions.

>>48640007
No, its just you.
Yes yes, I know, D&D is bad and I'm bad for playing it.
I'm still going to continue to play it, because There are several things I like about it, and because its easy to find players for, and a bunch or other reasons that are frankly irrelevant but are hopefully enough of a disclaimer that we can discuss the subject at hand.
I'd like to add degrees of success to D&D. Lets say for 5e or Pathfinder/3.X. Specifically, skill checks and attack rolls. Ideally, for attack rolls, I'm thinking it would be nice to drop damage dice entirely, so the attack roll would tell you both *IF* you hit, as well as how much damage you do based on your degrees of success and what you hit with.
Has anybody experimented with such a thing?
How would you implement it?
What else would require special consideration in order to make it work?
>>48634008
Dropping damage dice sounds like a pretty stupid idea.
>>48634061
Why's that?
I'd like the significance of "Yes, I rolled an 18+10 vs his AC of 21!" to mean something, and I'd like to do away with the possibility of "Yes, I rolled a crit!" followed by rolling all 1s for damage.
I simply don't see the reason a second roll is needed or beneficial other than 'muh tradition'
>>48634008
>the attack roll would tell you both *IF* you hit, as well as how much damage you do based on your degrees of success and what you hit with
Why? At this point you're editing so much to the base of the system that you'll have to redo huge portions of the base game. I mean, each spell and attack of each class, each monster you want to use has to be completely overhauled to make it work with homebrew. It makes the system so different that you may as well be playing something other than DnD.

So one of my friends wanted to get into MTG, and since me and a few buddies are generally standard players we were going to brew him something from the newer sets.
So this guy starts throwing commons and shit in a pile and im like thats not gonna be fun to play at all. Its about as boring as an intro deck, just plopping down low power creature. Then I thought why not brew some "competitive" intro deck? Something that features many card types, keywords, and interactions to get them used to the game? So I made this.
It actually turned out pretty sweet. He learned a lot very quickly as well. At this point though I am just wondering if there is any obvious mistakes with the list or if it can be refined? Cause he enjoys the deck a lot and I might end up just giving it to him as a jumping off point. Any advice?
Made this deck.

lilianas elite is actually pretty sweet, never noticed it.

Looks cute. You really don't have any discard outlets for the Pariah though, so she's not as synergistic as one'd wish her to be. Still, she's a cool card and this looks fun. Maybe he can even win a game or two at FNM against some shitty madness or emerge list.

What's the best power to get from the Incredibles jump?
Time for another Gamer Toss boys and girls!
The Gamer Chain-
Concept-Overlord Native-Chain, a Gamer like Ainz who got sucked into the New World. Built the way I would build a character for an MMO, Minions and Buffs for Minions.
Has a Gamer mind-set for most of the chain, trying to exploit anything he can, and to get more Minions and Buffs.
Companions- Forsetti, Gnarl, Lilith, Mooks, Lupa d'Angela, Akitsu, Yashima, Haihane, Waddle Dees, Heather, Genie, Female Hades,
Felyne(Not named),Arianrhod, Otis, Milo, Chara(SAVED, and Podded)
What are the best perks to non-lethally incapacitate a large group for several minutes?
