I always wondered how I'd run it as a DM if the party just decided to steal the caravan of goods and head back to Neverwinter. Perhaps using the proceeds of pawning them to start up their own little criminal gang.

I've been playing since 1983. Not sure what you are really asking my youngling friend. The only difference for me is I print off PDFs rather then buy modules at Dream Wizards.

I still play AD&D with the same dice, same (abet older friends), same minis and paper and pencils.

Not really. There's some shit on youtube, but there's no proper documentary or anything with old players/GMs/game creators being interviewed beyond some basic Gygax stuff.

From personal experience, (although everyone's differs), it was more of a game and less of a group roleplay jerk-off session. No one gave a fuck about your tragic backstory or the character's raison d'etre because the dungeon was a fucking meatgrinder and you were going into it to steal dank treasure and maybe fuck up a dragon.

I wish I had people that were down to play OSR.

Back story was simple and accurate we were desperate low level adventurers hungry for gold and glory. In a medieval society there are basically two ways for non-nobility to get rich. War and adventuring.

Mark Strong is the only reasonable choice for Horus, I don't know why, but he just fits the character most for me.

Kristofer Hivju I think is the best choice for Leman Russ. Like just look at the guy. He's just SCREAMING crazy wolf Viking.

Dave Bautista would be an amazing Ferrus.

Jason Isaacs would probably be the best choice for Fulgrim.

The Rock as Vulkan would be great.

Cumberbatch would be a great fit for Magnus. His voice would be all you need for Magnus, just CG the rest

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would be the perfect fit Sanguinius. Like Russ, he has ergs whole golden angel blond look going for him

Tahmoh Penikett would make a great Jonson.

Ralph Fiennes and only Ralph Fiennes could pull off Mortarion, strength-through-emaciation feel and look.
I think Vin Diesel looks like a better looking version of FW’s Lorgar actually.

Ken Watanabeis really the only choice for the Khan when i think about. Tho there would have to be a lot of make up/cg to make him properly look like a morterbieing Mongolian.

So is it possible to learn different types of magic in FT beyond what you originally roll? I don't know the series at all, and I'm wondering if you can learn new magic or if its just an inborn thing.

You need to be born capable of magic, but you can learn Any Magic.

The exceptions being Dragon Slayer Magic, where you need a Lacrima or a Dragon to teach you, or Demon Slayer where it SEEMS to be passed on from user to user.

Channeling energy into your right fist, you pull your arm back, and punch the incoming blast with all the force you have.

Much like what Olibu did to you, you turn Goku's own attack right back on him. You can see your friend's eyes go wide with shock, and he raises his arms to block the blast, but even so, the impact is enough to throw him off his feet and send him slamming to the ground, where he rolls back several times before coming to a stop.

Never one to let an attack stop him for long, Goku launches himself back to his feet, looking at you with an intense expression that serves as a warning of what is to come. Goku's taking the gloves off now, and you had best prepare yourself.

Yelling at the top of his lungs, he explodes forward, only to vanish from sight after a few short steps.

Well in terms of mechanically supported divine casters I think that leaves paladins, favored souls, spirit shaman, and maybe adept (I remember it's wis based, but don't remember the actual nature of their spells). There's also crusaders I guess who have "divine inspiration"

I'd say the most important priestly types just probably don't go into dungeons as much, but otherwise it's probably not that different

Paladins are banned along with clerics all the PHB classes. Crusaders take their stuff.
Favored souls, spirit shamans, and adepts are not among classes allowed either; only the classes in the three books listed are permitted.

You forgot the most important question, what are the gods like and what do they do? If they don't interact with the world at all, it wont look much dissimilar to religion in the real world.

First of all, hi, welcome back, as you can see the threads haven't really changed.

So, long story short: CCP sold off the White Wolf subsidiary and all IP rights to Paradox Interactive, which had its origin in tabletop game company Target Games, and clearly wants to get involved with it again. Paradox has used their purchase to create White Wolf Publishing AB (sometimes referred to as Paradox White Wolf or just Paradox). Under the creative direction of famous LARPer Martin Ericsson, White Wolf Publishing AB wants to bring back the Old World of Darkness setting in a big way, creating the One World of Darkness, a fifth edition of the setting and a reboot into a multimedia franchise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wewNseVo24

In order to prevent IP confusion from media licensees, Onyx Path and White Wolf came to an agreement: oWoD will henceforth be called "World of Darkness" and New World of Darkness becomes "Chronicles of Darkness".

Chronicles of Darkness is pretty much nWoD in its entirety. All the second editions can now be called so, and currently Vampire 2e, Werewolf 2e, Mage 2e, and Promethean 2e are available for purchase, with Changeling 2e in open playtesting, Hunter 2e in development, and Geist 2e being just announced.

Morality has changed dramatically. Mortals now have Integrity, as in God Machine Chronicle, Vampire have a slightly altered version of Humanity, Werewolves have a Harmony that swings up and down and is best kept to 5, Mages have a slightly altered Wisdom, and Prometheans now have Pilgrimage.

In this journal I, Hope, Apprentice of Redwing and owner of the bestest, coolest, and sweetest sister in the entire world, the Raven, will record my findings for the advancement of the Craft. I will be embarking on a super-exciting and a little scary journey to study and, hopefully, make friends with the fairies of the New World!

Apparently there weren't any fairies in the Old World so Mistress Redwing and the others don't really know what they are or what to do with them, so I'm going to show how smart I am and finally earn my graduation by finding out everything about them!

Day 1

I am so exhausted! I left Mistress Redwing's house early in the morning and have been walking all day! Well, except a short visit to say bye to Raven (we had tea and cookies!) but after that I walked all day! And it looks like I'm going to have to walk several days before I reach the forest to the West. But apparently there are lots of fairies there, so that's where I gotta go.

Good thing Raven let me keep all the cookies that were left over. Which was a lot. I bet they'll last me all week! I think she made too many on purpose. Oh, and the cookies are with raisins. Those are my favorites!

Day 7

Turns out it wasn't ME they were afraid of!

Today, I found a pretty little lake and decided it was time for a wash-up. That's when they appeared! There were two of them and they seemed really excited to see me and asked me questions faster than I could answer them, but when I was done washing and went to get my stuff they didn't want to talk any longer. It took a lot of effort, but eventually they explained it was because of the "shiny-pointy." Which means...

FAIRY FACT ONE: Fairies are deathly afraid of iron weapons!

They don't seem to mind iron as long as it's not a weapon, though. They seemed to love bathing in my cooking pot, which is iron, but they won't go anywhere near my knife. Very useful to know!

Day 8

The two fairies visited me again today. Apparently they're called Seel and Meel. I learned from them that fairies come in two different varieties, Summer and Winter. Seel is a Winter fairy and Meel a Summer fairy, but they seem to get along just fine so I guess the kinds aren't enemies.

Strangely, while they were very insistent that the two of them are NOT the same, they had a very difficult time explaining what the actual difference is. All they could really tell me is that Winter fairies are more "think-y" and Summer fairies are more "do-y."

Maybe if I found some more I could actually find out what the difference between the two kinds is. For now I'll work on gaining their trust.

Phew! This is taking a while and I'm still not done yet. Oh well, better get back to-

All of a sudden, the door to the house is swung open.

"Mistress, you're b- Huh? Hey, who are you?"

The lady in the door is definitely not Mistress! She's dressed in black like she's supposed to, but she's wearing a lot more of it. In fact the only places she's not wearing clothes is on her hands and her face! Her hair looks almost as disheveled as mine probably is right now, and its color looks a bit like the ashes in Papa's workshop after closing time.

Her eyes briefly scan across the room then immediately settle on me, her stare sending a shiver down my spine for some reason. Somehow they almost seem to radiate power. Power and... anger? But not at me, I think.

"Robin." She's addressing by that name, huh? "You know me as Redwing, I-"

"Ohh, Mistress' teacher?" That explains how she knows about this place and that name!

"...Yes, that is correct." She steps inside with a firm, controlled movement that reminds me a bit of Angeline, but not as elegant and more stiff. "I am here to-"
