Would you serve a species that was better than you genetically, I'm not talking /pol/, but I mean in a scenario with like aliens, that are so far advanced than us they make our civilization and level of sentience look like a joke in comparison
Depends on the kind of service. If it's like being an uplifted dog where I get to go for interstellar-tourism-walkies and the aliens will provide me with food, housing, entertainment and healthcare, sign me up.
>>48622118
You mean like we'd be to them as horses are to us?
>>48622157
it could be for anything they want depending on what they need, you can either be glorious and fight back or accept it.
Ok, I had an idea for a campaign that had an LN necromancer ruling a kingdom.
What are some non-evil things you would do with an army of skeletons?
>>48622108
Public works projects with free skeleton labor
>>48622108
Send them across the country to campaign against anorexia.
>>48622108
Where does he get the skeletons? The biggest hurdle is that messing with dead bodies is a big taboo
I hardly see any traditional card games around here.
Do you guys play some of the more traditional games?
Poker seems to be predominant in America or at least from what I hear. But what else did you guys play which was fun?
Does your region have its own colors and card styles?
I'll start with a game which is played all over alps in different variations.
Called Schafskopf.
It is only 24 cards ranging from 9 to Ace which all dealt to the 4 players.
It is a rather fast game with each round not more than 1 minute so it makes for a nice game in bars.
Colors are different aside from heart as you can see. Also queen is replaced by the Ober.
>>48621660
I only know that the Schell Ass (Ace of Bells) is called "Die Hundsgefickte" ("the dog-fucked").
>>48623775
Thats because the card depicts something along that line (top right) and it has many more along the same flavor.
Basically every card has its own different name depending on where you play.
Also regarding the less active pace in this thread I guess card games are too much for old folk to be played by /tg/ userbase.
so i have an idea for a Imp guard
hear me out i want some serious feedback here.
They are based off a planet that is mostly lava and the population has adapted to survive this environment. the guard has armored protective suits to ward off hellish heat. i have a very steampunkish ww1 armor vision for them. they are the Vartosian hellhounds.
they have an allmost erotic reverence for fire and they burn everything in the way. the only issue is these guys have no regard for human life. they are salamanders mixed with the marines malevolent. they believe fire is the emperors will manifesting its self into the physical world. they advance in a wall of armored fire. if someone falls on the line they are left there. To burn is the highest honor they can achieve in life. To them the emperor is fire.
May He forever burn brightly.
what im looking for are suggestions and comments on how you guys like it or how i can improve it.
>>48621392
anyone?
well i thinks its cool
thanks me
>>48621724
Kek, buttfrustration the post.
Does /tg/ play Das Schwarze Auge? German pen and paper, I think it is called The Dark Eye in English.
Recently started playing and it's fun. I don't think it is that succesful outside of Germany though.
The combat bored me to death, but everything else seems fun. I wish the DM would get his shit together so we could play another round.
Anyone?
It's less focused on combat and more on puzzle solving, gathering knowledge and social interaction.
Also, roles are interesting due to them being based on three (out of I think 8) stats that you have to roll individually.
>>48621101
Tried it.
Like the core resolution mechanic, but everything else from character creation to combat systems is horrible.
Stat me, /tg/

More like Str 8.
Hey /tg/, I was thinking about making a WW2 campaign where the PCs are either fighter pilots or a bomber crew.
What system could I use? How would I stat the planes, the weapons and people? How can I make four 30 mm cannons on two jets assisted by rockets absolutely terrifying?
>>48620959
You could also have them being in a maritime patrol plane in the Pacific (like a Catalina for instance). Plenty of opportunity for the unexpected.
>>48620959
Achtung ! Cthulhu have stats for a lot of WW2 planes, tanks, gears,...

Why do people need mass slavery in star wars where there are droids? I can understand the concept of having sadistic urges or prized pets or fetishism like Jabba an Leia. But what is the point of it at place where droids are abundantly available literally anywhere and are so simple even children can put them together and re program them to do whatever. Plus they are so advanced they are capable of doing almost any task an organic can even very complicated tasks. Be it basic manual labor, surgery, piloting your ship, or bounty hunting to even leading an army.
Now of course having a droid do something special like surgery, bounty hunting or army management will probably require a lot of valuable hardware and programming. But needing slaves to just mine stone and build starships why wouldn't you use droids that can do that far more efficiently. Organic slaves expire fast, they need to be fed, they can rebel, they have tons of other biological needs that droid don't have.
>>48620481
droids cost money
people don't
>>48620481
Droids need expert maintenance by a trained professional. Slaves need a guy pointing a gun at them.
Also, if you go too far with droids, you get a droid rebellion, which Star Wars has been through more than once.
>>48620510
Sure you don't need to have slavers to capture them for you, you don't need to feed them, you don't need to let them sleep, you don't need to have guards to keep them working, you don't need to provide life support for them while they work, you do not need to have slavers regularly bringing more of them after they expire. All those things are completely free.
Anyone else refuse to play games under these things?
>>48619495
Just don't smoke at the table, mothafucka.
>>48619495
What is it some sort of upside down metal flower?
I remember the time when the new maintenance guys of airport weren't told that these were all broken. They were puzzled by the low pressure so they "fix" it. You can guess what happened afterwards.
So what mercenary archetypes are there to play other than grizzled and old?
>>48619470
Young and naive.
Sadistic.
Swiss.
Young and naive.
>>48619470
Loyal to the contract to the point of fault.
What does /tg/ think of MYFAROG?
My group and I have had great fun with it, we're about 7 sessions in, roughly 28 hours of play.
>>48619196
Have you blasted black metal in the background while playing?
>>48619196
>inb4 RAAAAYCISS
It's a bad game.
Worse still, the only reason anyone talks about is because of an idiot from /pol/ trying to force a meme.
So please, fuck off with your shit, Varg. Stop making these threads, and maybe learn how to make a game that isn't just a D&D heartbreaker.
You're a sad fuck who needs mental help, and you should stop trying to make these threads just to discuss how much of a shitbag you are, because your game is of no actual interest.
Thanks for giving LARP a bad name.
>>48618857
You're welcome, prick.
LARP never had a good name
Shop at K-Mart
For some silly game, nerd
You give LARP

I played an elf
And it was really lame
Nerd, you give LARP

You'll want a High STR party member if you wanna carry that valuable gilded mahogany throne out of the dungeon; it was basically the only really valuable thing this particular Goblin tribe had.

How dare that pesky mage insult you so!
As she (and her do-gooder nitwits!) smashed your fake phylactery, banishing you into the nether until you could reform your body, she called you "an outdated fossil"!
You'll show those miserable brats, you scream to the ether as you claw your way back into the material world!
Well maybe their descendants.
From the feel of the Ley-Lines it's probably only been around 1500 years, placing the date as ~2066, give or take a few centuries.
From previous occasions, you can guess that not much has probably changed.
Maybe a new fancy metal, or perhaps they have rediscovered some of the ancient magics.
Probably nothing major, given how backwards things were when you re-died.
You are the great, the mighty, the powerful lich known as....
Gah! This soul transference always leaves you muggy for a while!
Who are you again?

I (we) am Cyr Raptis, THE GREATEST LITCH IN THE LAND!
>>48618824
Well, not off to the best start but lets plow ahead!
Votes/rolls will be ~15-20 min.
Thats right, you are Cyr Raptus!
THE GREATEST LICH IN THE LAND!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7_K28GZHdo
Mighty Ruler of all you survey, and now that is some sort of strange carved valley.
The walls seem to be a polished rock of a type unfamilliar to you, and you spy some glass windows above and ahead.
Truly a wealthy city, no doubt eager to pledge itself to anyone capable of protecting it!
First things first though, you need to gather information about the surroundings and culture, and establish a base of operations to exert your dark Will.
Where to?
>The buildings seem more decayed on the left. The poor always resist authorities intruding, and will leap on any chance to improve their lot!
>Over on the right, however, the streets seem to be brightly lit, and a loud throbbing noise is vaguely audible. A festival, no doubt!
>Somewhere else?
And should you bother to disuise your unatural appearance?
>No! these mortals need to learn their place, and the sooner the better!
>Perhaps some caution is advised... You can pull your cloak tightly around you
>Cast a spell to disguise you. Fashion probably hasn't changed, so the difficult part is probably choosing your guise...

>The buildings seem more decayed on the left. The poor always resist authorities intruding, and will leap on any chance to improve their lot!
Those who join me will serve, those that do not will serve in the next life!
>No! these mortals need to learn their place, and the sooner the better!
We may be weakend, but that is no excuse for hiding ourselves like a dishonorable rat!
