>there are people right now who have never played this game before and know nothing about it's gameplay that will take 1 look at this video and believe pendulum is broken
They are wrong.
They have played before they just don't like how muh stronges monster can't stand a chance against a combo
Posted this in last thread, but it died. What do people think: yea, or nyeh? I'm still looking to make some changes here and there.
The Meta's a bit meh right now imho, and with dueling network down, I can only play Goat Control with my friends (who otherwise don't play) and bored randoms after tourney rounds

Needs more skeletons.
Is this correct /TG/?

>50 coked out gangbangers vs a killing machine with centuries of experience
You tell me.
>>48795637
No, this is.
Needs more dead Lamenters.
> Party hears about some caster terrorizing the local Halflingsburg
> Go to investigate.
> Find sickly bastard trying to destroy the local Tavern with blood magic
> DM describes scars along the creep's arms and pale skin.
> OK.jpeg
> battle ensues, which we breeze through without a hitch.
> Creepo falls unconscious. Party paladin walks over to him and without hesitation cleaves the guys head off.
> DM pitches a fit because we killed a sociopath on a rampage instead of helping what was "obviously a depressed blood mage Cutter who was only lashing out at the halflings for being happy, and he wasn't."
Any of you had to deal with shit like this?
>>48792869
>They're happy and I'm not, so I'm gonna wreck their shit and expect to be helped and not get killed
>>48792869
>Hellhole fantasy setting.
>We encounter a fallen angel (not necessarily evil), who is trying to build an army to invade Hell.
>His plan? Run around murdering the purest, goodest people he can find, because he has a ritual thingy that can flash-convert their souls into more fallen angels like himself.
>Paladin is aghast at this plan.
>Tries to talk the angel out of it.
>DM rules that he falls.
>>48793294
The fuck... how is a paladin who is most likely aligned with actual angels actually affected in attempting to help prevent a fallen angel cause their imminent deaths?
5% of game problems are a problem with the rules.
45% are errors in communication/mixed expectations.
50% are just a failure to follow basic etiquette.
>>48791337
Who schedules a game for 5AM anyway?
In spirit you are correct, but it's not THAT extreme.
Or rather, either you have a decent group and point 3 is way less than 50% (Like 20-30 tops) or you don't and it's like 80% of your problems.
>>48791337
Eeehhh, about 50% of my problems are with players getting uppity when I make a GM call on something when the rules are unclear.
25% is etiquette and 25 % is food arguments
>Setting that has sentient and sapient armor.
>A lovecraftian style armor can rapidly heal people even while they're taking damage.
>You're just as alien to it as it is to you.
What can be some downsides to such a armor? What can be some upsides?
Downsides:
>It's "lovecraftian style" so you know whoever made it didn't have a single creative bone in his body.
>It's from (the land of) Skyrim.
Upsides:
>Sells at a high price.

It seems I've reached this point in my life where it's unavoidable for me to GM Evangelion. I've got two dedicated players that'd be up for it and I suppose I'd have choose very carefully two more.
With that being said, anyone had experience with AdEva? Should I use 2.5 or 3.0? 3 seems more streamlined but with less content and shittier page layout.
Also, I had the vague idea of rebranding some aspects of the mythology for novelty's sake, for example replacing the christian """symbolism"""" with a different one, like Arthurian legends and knightly shit. Anyone ever successfully pulled that off?
pls respond, also Evangelion in /tg/ general
>>48783463
Never even read AdEva, but today I had the silly idea of Wheel of time Eva.
>>48783613
How would that even work, anon
>>48783613
Im curious too. Would magic wielders be the equivilant of pilots with males being hunted down because they take on more of the Eva aggression, forcing them to be put down?
>Elves are slender and beautiful and civilized and so much better than humans
>But at the same time they live in the woods and wipe their asses with bark and hunt and don't have agriculture and don't do scientific research
What is this primitivist bullshit? Give me one reason why these woodland savages are superior to civilized humans. And don't give me that "muh lifespan" bullshit.
That bark comes from trees with the softest bark imaginable, carefully cultivated over millenia.
Elves don't have to wipe.
Way too tight assed.
>>48773906
Elves can be whatever you want, anon. They don't fucking exist. You're just spouting the same tired meme bullshit that I was back when I was a teenager.
Is it possible to make the prospect of an immanent Drow invasion fresh and exciting?
Suggest some plot elements or background details that would spice-up the situation.
Rate my ideas:
>They are being aided by human traitors
>They are being aided by beings from another world
>They are fleeing a greater evil
>The Drow are actually the good guys
>The Drow have lost the ability to breed with their own and are enslaving male humans for breeding purposes
Instead of an actual invasion, make it a sneaky mass kidnapping using their inherent magic and sewer entrances and the like.
Whole streets become uninhabited in a single night. The military/city watch are unable to do anything about it, since all of their nearby lookouts and scouts go missing the same way. If left unchecked, anyone trying to invade (The Drow, for instance) could just walk right in unopposed.
>>48761912
They're bringing the underdark with them, terraforming by using some sort of fog-cover/spell/atmospheric clouding to create a perpetual twilight/artificial night through which they can expand and bring underdark creatures with them, terraforming the lands that they take.

Read the 3e core book (link below). For the basics of combat, read this tutorial. It'll get you familiar with most of the mechanics.

What do anons think of the non-official Exalted stuff? The webcomics, the fan splat projects, anathema, #exaltwitch ?
They tend to be good. Chorus is good, and God Kicking Boot is excellent. Dawn of the Chosen is very meh.
>>48761753
Some of the fan-stuff is good. I got into Exalted because of Keychain of Creation, and I got into KoC because I saw an image of Misho with his caste mark showing and thought "why does that guy have a smiley face on his forehead?" Other stuff; Anathema has been a godsend, I've only seen the first episode of Exaltwitch, and I tend to turn up my nose at fan splats.
My own question for people who like mechanics is this; what's the fastest a dedicated Craftsnerd can crank out artefacts? I used to think that it was whenever you could spare the 10gxp to make the final rolls, but it was pointed out in a recent thread that even using Thousand-Forge Hands you still need to labour for (6-Essence) weeks.
>>48763466
>Keychain of Creation
Now I'm gonna have to go reread it.
>"Well, my character doesn't have any reason to trust/follow the party!"
Why the FUCKALL do players build characters they know will be at odds with the rest of the group - or even characters that have no reason to want to go on adventures at all - and then complain about how they don't fit in with the rest of the PCs?
I've usually run into it when everyone makes characters before first session in isolation from each other (or maybe some of them have swapped "I might roll a bard/cleric/sorcerer/whateverthefuck" without further detail). Inevitably, everyone thinks their generic fantasy insert is the hottest shit that everyone should want, and is then upset when someone else's generic fantasy insert is more liked.
So, basically, because everyone wants to be the main character and thinks everyone else has shit taste.
>>48740307
Because some people are retarded. Or want to troll the group, which is itself a retarded idea.
People don't actually want to roleplay with others, they want others to be accessories to their own role-playing.

Welcome back yet again, to the forty-ninth installment of Mecha Space Pirate Quest. I'm your host, Wong, and as when we left off you are Amos Wedge, a Corporal in the UJCIDF and Caesar's upperclassman friend.

When we last left off, your squad had been ambushed by a quintet of Avalonian Knights and your squad's ostensible leader had his Warmouth's right leg shot into nonfunctionality. You and Simon both sling an arm under the arms of Garret's Warmouth and fire your thrusters on maximum. He helps, using his remaining leg and torso's thrusters to steer as the three of you streak away across the treetops.
Rockets fall from the sky like burning rain. Fifteen of them streak past, but only one is shot dead-center and explodes against the Warmouth's back. Fortunately, its armor protects it, although the other two's shields aren't looking so pretty after they have to block a few. You casually swerve around the rockets and set an example for your juniors.
There's a steady stream of profanity over the line from the other two. Simon in particular sounds rattled. You're a little surprised by how calm you are, but then again, nothing has managed to touch you yet. You calmly sip some grape juice out of a climate-controlled thermos and concentrate on your flying. After all, you're Jovian, you're #1. No point in panicking. Yet.

They explode.
They phase through matter until they hit their target.
They have sudden bursts of speed
They can switch directions to avoid being parried or evaded

“Alright, alright, everyone!” Everyone gathers around Janus, Griselda’s tank. It was slightly burnt and scarred from yesterday’s battle, but functional enough to remain in camp for some repairs. All of you had returned to the campsite in the Mount Montagne wilderness, and the team was running on highs since the sweep of Sherbrooke Girls High. With the draw of J. Walter Christie this weekend as well, catching the division pennant was no longer an impossibility. In fact, at least according to Suvorov and Serafina, it seemed inevitable. “Right…” Griselda smiles at everyone, rubbing her hands together. Luisa and Yuno hang out of the hatches on Janus’ turret, smiling at her. “Everyone, NATO has marked this weekend as the Mid-Tournament Off Weeks, which means there will be no matches this coming weekend!”
“No matches?” asks Regina.
“No matches, except any exhibition matches we want to set up,” Griselda explains. “The purpose of the Off-Weeks is to allow teams to get their stuff together down the stretch towards FleetFest. And I really want to spend this two weeks getting things together because we’re going to be facing some REALLY stiff competition. One of the teams we’ll be facing during FleetFest will be Zhou Enlai.” All the girls murmur and gossip about the possibility of it. Facing ZES? They’ll be tough to beat. “But, that’s not your problem, that’s mine. All of you, take a vacation, rest up, and spend some time with your tanks as well. This is your opportunity to get a lot of stuff done that you normally wouldn’t during the tournament. Dismissed!”

“Wow!” Serafina walks up to Regina Taney as she and the rest of Naval Studies Rescue pack up things in there IS-2m. “Regina, what are you and Naval Studies Rescue going to do for the break?”
“NAVAL STUDIES RESCUE DOES NOT TAKE BREAKS!” yells Regina. She slaps her chest proudly. “WE ARE VIGILANT AND-“ She sighs. “… we’re going to the Pool on Saturday.”
Suvorov chuckles. “Well, me and the Junior Historians are going to be raising some money for our own modifications! Just you wait!” She proudly thumps her bicep, forming her arm straight out proudly. “We’ll be turning that Panzer III into a mighty StuG.”
“That’s boring,” says Regina. “EVERYONE TURNS THEIR PANZER III INTO STUGS!”
“No, no, not Stug. StuG, like stew not stub,” says Suvorov. “Pronounce it correctly.”
“WHATEVER!” yells Regina. “YOU’RE GOING TO HURT YOURSELVES MODIFYING THAT STUGGY!” She opens the driver’s hatch. “AND WHEN YOU DO, I’M NOT GOING TO HELP YOU!” She fits herself inside as Serafina and Suvorov watch confusedly. After a minute, Regina pops her head out, a little glum. “Actually, I will help you, BUT I’LL BE VERY JUDGEMENTAL!”
You roll your eyes, sighing. Winona grins, nudging you. “So, Ellie? How you gonna spend the Off-Weeks? Camping? Swimming?” She bats her eyes at you. “Doing girly stuff?”
