Healing potions have a minor aura of good, while poison has a minor aura of evil. If the GM doesn't prompt an Insight check, with subtlety or not, he's a shitter you shouldn't let run your games.

Okay, so how much health do I regain for this weird inverse-reverse double un-plus-healing potion?
>>
>>48871989
With this level of DM it would probably be
>Paladin, you detect a slight aura of evil coming off the potion, you think it might be best not to drink that
>"Okay, I don't drink it, I continue on and head towards the church, donating what's left of my money."
>You fall
>"What why?"
>You left a poison sitting in the market, it was sold to an innocent who died from it.

How much do you spend on RPGs per month?

How much would you spend if you had a high income?
14 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>

My budget is 30 bucks per month for games, both video and traditional. If I want to get a AAA vidja title or a big board game, I've gotta be willing to wait a month (or I wait for it to go on sale). I can afford to buy a sixty-dollar game and nothing the month after, but I find waiting is helpful, both for making sure I truly want it and for managing my money.

How much would I spend if I had a high income? As much as I wanted, I expect. I can't imagine myself getting too crazy. I usually pirate stuff if I don't have explicit need of it anyway.

Hello /tg/. I'm wondering who you think would win in a war between the Tau Empire and the Covenenant Empire at its height. Both use powerful technology, and incorporate other races into their empires, but I'm not sure who would win in a hypothetical war between the two.

>It turns out that the reason why they work is due to a mixture of magic and science, but also because the megacorp who makes these charms contain fragments of a heroes ever regenerating soul. This process is more or less torture.
>They do this because the entire world is up to their eyes in monsters, whether they be alien, interdimensional, robots, or anything inbetween.

"There aren't enough Heros in the world to deal with the all the worlds problems.

But what if there were?

If we could mass produce these Heros, like a weapon, and make it available to the general population? Every town would have a hometown hero.

Yes the replication process is painful, and morally questionable.

But if they truly were Heros, they'd make the sacrifice for the greater good."

Basically he wants to make superpowers accessible to everyone because Heros on their own are spread too thin.
>>
>>48870672
sounds like a good reason why there might be more monsters in the world

Monsters and Heroes have always been related to one another in media, it's one then the other or vice versa. The company wanted to make more heroes to make money and make better weapons, but then more villains made more monsters. More monsters meant there was a need for the product, which meant the sacrifice of more heroes and on and on.

The truth is that the economy's based on mutual suffering, the suffering of heroes and the suffering of the people coming under more and more attack, and in the end the truest parts of a Heroic essence - The will to be a better person and leave the world a better place - Is something that can't be replicated.

Would make some good dystopian punk of some sort. I'm in.
>>
>>48870860
So in other worlds, one benefits off the other. A hero becomes a diamond, but when they die they get stuck into the corporate safe. Whether they would have gone to heaven or hell, it doesn't matter. Villains benefit from heroes being torn from their chance at Heaven, because it "fuels" their power in a way. Heroes become more plentiful and thus you're more likely to get a powerful diamond, then the cycle repeats.

Has anyone ever played resident evil: the card building game? My friend wants me to buy it so we can add it to the collection of board games.

Im not sure how much fun it is but I would like to hear personal opinions.

My other option is the pathfinder deck building game. But again, I don't know much about these games.

What would you recommend I buy, which was more fun for you?
18 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
It started out kinda shitty but eventually got good.

I HEAVILY suggest buying the latest set and then working your way back (the new resource cards in the last set really change the game for the better)

Pathfinder is barely a deck builder. It's not bad as a coop, but kinda fiddly and frustrating.
>>
>>48867641
haven't played it. still waiting on the HP deck builder to come out, then someone to Adhoc rules for it allowing you to build up cards though all 7 years instead of reseting decks at the start of each year.

Stage 130: ….when the kami give you cats....

There are many things that can go wrong on a mission. Usually these things involve encountering the enemy in a fashion that increases the personal risk of everyone involved. Sometimes they involve a third party interfering with the situation. Often, they're simply the results of bad intelligence.

To say that things have gone wrong on this particular mission isn't quite accurate.

More like, an entirely unprecedented and previously thought impossible situation has reared it's rather pretty golden-eyed and emerald-haired head at the most inconvenient time possible in the absolute worst place possible. But then, it is a cat, of sorts, so that was kind of inevitable. That would probably be why it wasn't among the troops that Colonel Friedrich Blitzenberg tried to use to capture Kiki-hime and kill you and Akari: you can't really make a cat do anything it doesn't want to do.

You're not sure why she has green hair.

The fact that she has two long, shining tails and a pair of adorable green ears is terribly cute on her nine-year old looking body, but she isn't a nekomata. She's a mix of bakeneko and something else; what, you're really not sure. There's enough human in the mixture that she's a spirit-child, but whatever else is in her, it hasn't spoiled anything but her purity. The bakeneko-breed girl apparently looks up to Rie as an older sister, and currently you're allowing her to pet one of the God's Eye Nekomata's cat youkai, which is just fine by her. It's currently distracting her from the question she asked you.

Namely, why you killed the Colonel but let his daughter live.

This wouldn't be so much trouble if you weren't on a mission to deal with a promise you made to slaughter a couple of people and display them in the home of the spymaster of Clan Ryo. The promise is divinely enforced, to the point where not even the Jade Emperor of the Celestial Harmony, may he live Ten Thousand times Ten Thousand years, can keep you from fulfilling it. Which is an impressive thing to say when he's delivered an Edict directing you to eliminate Enma-Oh and all his minions from Japan. Using the power of Ame-no-Horobi-no-Mikado to do so, even. And for as clever and quick on your feet as you are, this is just the kind of thing that happens with Kami Stuff that you forbade your best friend from getting involved at all.

The worst part about all this is that while you are aware of how badly a disruption like this can affect you, you can't really DO much to fix that problem. For instance, all this over-thinking you're doing while the two-headed shikigami that Ryuu Himeyuri is warily observing the buildings that you and this curious little monster are hiding between. If it wakens Himeyuri, you'll have to try and knock her unconscious before you try and infiltrate her undoubtedly much better defended house, assuming she doesn't call her subordinate over to try and kill you. And fighting a loyal and highly promoted Water dragonne is not something you want to do tonight.

Staying in bed would have driven you just as mad as all this is, you're quite sure.

[] Well, you might as well ask her name for a start.
[] Try and find out where she lives, hoping she's not as insane as Rie.
[] Ask her if she would mind staying here while you take care of something.
[] Answer the question as honestly as you can.
[] Touch fluffy ears. It works for other weird critters you know.
