You make your way back towards the repair center. You crouch low and slide the keycard through its slot. The moment before it pings in confirmation you spring into action and when its half open you're already fully through and hugging against the back of a terminal. The number of insurrectionist in the repair center have lowered slightly. They now stand at the modest number of ten. You see a small group of them climb up a set of stairs on the right side of the room and leave through a door marked;

The rest of the workers either idly hover over a terminal or make small talk regarding events on the planet.

"You saw the game last night?"
"Ravagers never stood a damn chance."
"Wonder how long we're going to be staying here?"
'Why leave? We got it good."
"I miss Kane."

You largely filter out their talking while you examine the door. Jimmy didn't mention this place at all, or it just escaped his mind. There's also the chance that he simply didn't know about it. You didn't get the impression that he was a smart man. You look at the keycard in your hand and back to the door.

You could probably tear your way into the room with enough time. It definitely won't be quiet. You'd have to take out everyone in the room first. You survey the area around it looking for some structural flaw or exploitable feature. You notice a series of vents at the top of the room. They lead towards the staircase you entered into and another trail towards the reactor room. It might be a tight fit but you should be able to get through. Hopefully.

Speaking of the reactor room, you did see some power tools in there. They might expedite any entrance you decide to make, or you can try to cut your way into the room.

Of all the magical beasts to roam the lands of the known world, it is almost unanimous that there is none to match that of the dragon. Commanding both the fear and respect of lesser species, they have dominated the planet’s ecosystem with tooth and claw, magic and fire, for hundreds of years. Of course, this is no doubt due to their longevity, with the current record at nine hundred years, superior intellect, and the absence of a proper threat.

While they do share some commonalities in diet and other physical attributes, one would be hard-pressed to find two dragons who behave similarly. There are those who are little more than primal beasts, smashing and blasting their way to their goals with little consideration for thought or safety. And then there are those who are masters of cutthroat diplomacy, who favor cunning and guile in lieu of brutal strength. Yet even more dangerous are those that employ both silvered tongue and brute strength to achieve their ends meet.

A fact that we must first dispense with before we continue any further is the origins of these species. I speak not of the scaled, stone-like eggs from which they incubate and hatch, but their very creation in the grand scheme of the world. Doubtless you have heard of them: evil gods cursed by the Divines of the High Faith to take the forms of their inner selves, vessels of Aether that gained sentience by observing the Elder Pantheon. As of this edition, the Oratory suggests that they are creations who rejected the authority of the God of Light.

Now, I must tell you to cast your curiosity to the side, for there exists no concrete answer to that question. Seek not and speak not of the origins of the dragons, for it is a fruitless endeavor, a cause that great men and magisters have wasted their lives on.

Tragically, we can gain no further knowledge, as all that remains of the mighty beasts are bone and ash. And what little manuscripts that survived the tumultuous Age of Fire are scant to offer any details. Yet, the beasts are not so easily forgotten, as they continue to regale the tales, legends and history of the people of Kaithe. Perhaps that is something we can take a small, if not regretful, solace in. What I would pay to see the dragons once more above the skies of Kaithe...

There is little information regarding the Dragon-King Mallifax prior to the Long Night of Fire. Other than the names of his progenitors, Inoith and Praagdrix, we know little of the history of the Shroud of Shadows before his arrival to Kaithe. Yet, physical evidence suggests that at the time of his death, Mallifax was at least four centuries, old enough to challenge his sire for the mantle of the Horned Crown and the right to rule over the Dragons.

You look around as the crowds cheer, tail brushing against the ground. Your brother seems as amazed as you are with all the people here. There's just... so many. You look back towards the entrance area your mama and papa led you to. You tug a little at the good luck symbol your mama gave you on your wristbands and whisper softly, "Good luck, mama."

The blonde man tosses his microphone into the air and catches it, the crowds halting their cheering. "And it looks like we have some familiar faces in the audience, but also some new challengers! These lucky eight fighters have passed the entrance trials and made it to the Junior Division proper, so without any further delay, let's welcome..." The man leaps away so the crowds and cameras can get a proper view of you all. "...the returning Junior Champion and runner-up, Pantea Briefs and Videl Satan!"

You see the purple haired girl thrust her fist into the air triumphantly, while Videl bows to the crowds respectfully. She then turns to her friend with a confident smile, their mom's voices clear even among the cacophony of voices. "Better look out, Pantea, because you're not gonna be Champ again this time."

"Hehehe. Well, I might have some tricks up my sleeves, Videl. Don't count me out just yet."

"Next up are a pair of new competitors, but I'm sure you all will recognize them well, especially with the boy's hairdo matching his father's. Son Gohan, and Son Peppa!"

Your brother takes a shy but respectful bow himself, rubbing the back of his head and smiling bashfully.

Still, you had every reason to rescue Fuuta-chan, and not nearly all of them about you. Fuuta-chan was special even when you were young; she was entirely home-schooled, and rarely allowed to leave Clan Ryo grounds. Possibly even sold intel to others, say Taisho Ryoga, who seems to have an uncanny knack for locating you, even as she told Fuuta that her visions and dreams meant little. But protecting your secrets, the few you have left, isn't as important to you as it once was. The thing that struck you most was that she didn't seem all that interested in how she was brought back with you: prisoner, defeated enemy, ally, slave, victim of circumstance, all that mattered was you taking her to Inari.

You know exactly where you've seen THAT particular type of behavior before.

No, you really didn't have much of a choice in your own eyes. You have little doubt Kiki-hime will agree with your reasoning. But then again, that is kind of secondary to why she's annoyed at you.
