Hey /tg/, give me some examples of characters that you consider as Fighters, but don't wear heavy armor.
Image not related.
>>49230294
Chain mail is medium armor isn't it? Most mercs and pretty much anyone who couldn't afford a fancy suit of plate just wore mail, assuming they could afford even that.
>>49230294
>Image not related.
thanks for clearing that up. I'd say Bruce Lee.
>>49230294
Beowulf and a lot of the old saga heroes wore simple shirts of mail and an iron helm.
Pic related, vikings.
You ever do a low level super villains game /tg/?
>>49230178
No, but I've had players in gangland/fantasy cyberpunk campaigns have to deal with gangs that were led by low-level 'superheroes' and 'villains' whose fights were making the neighborhood they grew up in unsafe.
In the end, Marvelous man was exposed for bribing the local police force to let him take care of crimes for the publicity, and the Mad Dingo was actually recruited into the players' gang when they realized he was both an expert con man and pretty much became a supervillain to honor his dead pet...which the party necromancer brought back.
>>49230178
Not yet, but I'm hoping to find a GM over here:
>>49227706
>>49230178
Yup, once, for M&M.
Thing was like a really goofy heist/crime series except they all had costumes and gimmicks or powers.
What kind of players should I drive away from my local game store through threats and intimidation?
>>49230074
the ones with offensive body odors
I don't care how much you spend here, dude, a shower and some deodorant isn't too much to ask for.
>>49230074
Yourself.
>>49230074
The one who look and act like Chris-chan.
Has anyone played this? Does anyone have the backer pdfs?
>>49229969
OP, you're in for a world of hurt. /tg/ shits itself whenever anyone tries to discuss any Powered by the Apocalypse game, between grognards arguing about how story games aren't real and the worst of the alt-right calling anything that isn't a cishet white man "SJW propaganda."
>>49229969
What does it bring to the table as far as PbtA. Don't they already have urban fantasy?
>>49230109
>>49231862
I feel I should ask here, what is "Powered by the Apocalypse"? and why is it controversial?
Is this game any good? It seems interesting, but why would anyone choose it over DnD? What makes it different?
>>49229826
The setting, the magic system, and the whole thing with boons and banes, the whole character creation system, and all the stuff for handling the titular Shadow
(Also the lack of levels, because some people hate level-based games)
>>49229946
>(Also the lack of levels, because some people hate level-based games)
Lack of experience-needed-to-level, that is
>>49229826
Oh look, it's the fortnightly
>"Is Shadow of the Demon Lord any good?"
>"It feels like vidya."
Thread.
> McGuffin is a trinket with over 60 forms to it
> Each form contains the collective unconscious of all the posters of a board on 4chan and allows them to call on the collective wisdom and power of 4chan.
> For example /sci/ allows a user to better understand natural philosophy, /k/ allows rapid mastery of weapons, /mlp/ enhances horsemanship and /r9k/ might be beneficial to wizards.
Which boards are the most useful and the ones the least? Which boards would a character most often?
>>49229543
>Have to roll for SAN to use it for extended periods of time
>It gradually deteriorates charisma and other stats based on the board you're using
Not a bad idea OP
/tg/ for the power of ants

Ok? It just looks like Gears of War with a DOOM theme...

The first edition was a proto-Descent/Imperial Assault and kind of owned
What is the best way to explain a technologically advanced civilization in a setting where magic is prevalent ? Not to the point that everyone is an omnipotent wizard, but that its an innate talent that around 70% percent of people can use to the extent that their lives are confortable in a mostly medueval era .
>>49228425
thats a cool tarantula
>>49228425
Technology is more reliable and easier to document than magic, and doesn't frizzle to nothing once you've cast a few spells.
>>49228425
Said civilization developed in an area that was a target of the magic equivalent of an EMP bomb. After that, it has become a deadzone of shorts, with all magic cast inside fizzling.
Help me /tg/, you are my only hope.
I'm running a dnd 3.5 game and we're sort of in a lull between major arcs. I've decided that they are going to be invited to an epic level wizard's 2000th birthday party, and he's going all out. Created a plane just for the occasion, invited pretty much everyone he's ever met (several thousand entities, a number of which will be on the order of demigods, pit fiends, etc.). What goes on at a wizard's birthday party? What sort of encounters does the (level 4, they're only there because one of them is related to the wizard) party run into?
>>49228334
>Still playing 3.5
>Needing advice on what to do in a lull instead of having the action progress from what's been going on previously
>Tossing a bunch of 4th level PCs into a zone where Epics walk and hundreds of beings there could squish them by so much as sneezing.
>Need entertainment that won't get them all killed.
I'm not going to quite call you That GM, but the odds of you being a shit GM are extraordinarily high, so I recommend folding down that GM screen and passing it to someone who will hopefully do a better job.
>>49228421
I'm only running 3.5 because it's what the party knows and wants to play.
Further, this is supposed to be a silly interim arc with a Glam Metal band made of Dragons and an Atropal real estate developer. There will be at-level things for combat (though this obviously will not be as combat-oriented as a dungeon run or something) but the idea is that it's goofy, out of nowhere, and the party gets to rub shoulders with entities they would otherwise never see because epic level dnd doesn't actually work.
If it seems silly, that's because that's the point.
>>49228334
I see a lot of potential for social encounters, or at least minor combat ones. Seeing as you’re going full WIZARD you have a lot of room to work with here. Maybe an imp stole someone’s invitation and they ask the party for help getting it back. Maybe there is an argument between a mindflayer and an archon, and another guest (or the wizard’s apprentice?) asks the party to break it up. Maybe the appetisers are going missing, and it turns out there’s a mimic in the kitchen eating them when the cook looks away. Sky’s the limit, man.
>>49228421
Well aren’t you just a ray of fucking sunshine.
The year is 1920. The November Armistice fell apart a year earlier when the leaders of the victorious powers were collectively assassinated in an anarchist bombing and Europe fell again into conflict.
The French began the war with an invasion of the Wiemar Republic. The Soviet Union mobilized 3 million comrades and maintained their borders. A period of rapid expansion by Sweden and Portugal pushed England and Italy to expand their control on the Continent. Luxembourg mobilized soon after and invaded its northern Benelux cousins.
After a brief conflict in Iberia, the United Kingdom, fresh from its conquest of Ireland, signed a treaty with Portugal to form the Anglo-Porto Alliance and invaded France. The French dictator was assassinated in his sleep and the fourth and final Republic was consumed by Portugal, Italy, Luxembourg, and England. Sweden continued its expansion through the mainland war, coming to dominate all of Scandinavia. As soon as the French were obliterated, Italy and Portugal went to war. England dumped massive resources into consuming Luxembourg, leaving its ally to face the Italian onslaught alone. Though the Brits took most of Benelux, they lost control of the Islands to a surprise dual invasion by Sweden and Luxembourg.
A winter truce was called in December 1919 and Europe watches with baited breath as January 1920 dawns...
There are 14 factions:
>UK
>Wiemar Republic
>Soviet Union
>Hungary
>Czechoslovakia
>Romania
>Turkey
>Albania
>Italy
>Sweden
>Poland
>Luxembourg
>Portugal
>Lichtenstein
Choose one, pick a leader name, and put both in your Sig (Name field).
No returners rights; if you had a faction before, choose it again, but first come first Serbed.
Dice will be used (put dice+1d99999 in the Option field). Only dice'd rolls will be counted.
Two rounds of rolling per mupdate. OP will initiate the rounds and the rolls must be linked to the proper round.

I'm going to run a 1 on 1 session(s) where the premise is that the player is the owner of a tavern in a high fantasy setting set in 3.PF
I need good events that would trouble a tavern owner
I.E
>The town guard starts investigating your tavern for cult activity
>You have to secure a shipment of dwarven ale for a dwarvish emmisary who plans to stay at your tavern
>Rats in the basement!
>Orcs have overtaken your city and you have to keep serving them drinks to stay alive
Shit like this.
Go!
>Drunken wizard causing trouble for patrons
>Very popular bard coming to play in your tavern, prepare thyself for crowds
>Lady telling sob story about ex is a red dragon, and she's starting to get more pissed off as the story goes on
>Inventory is running through quicker than usual, one of the staff?
>what's a good idea for the BBEG?
I'm thinking a variation on pic related
A government representative trying to find any way to shut down your tavern because of a performed slight against him
Lawful Evil
>If there wasn't a cult in the tavern before there is one now
>Temple of [god] opened next door, they keep protesting your "den of sin"
>Temple of [god] opened next door, rowdy revelers causing problems
>King Asshole, Lord of Dick Mountain wants to buy your tavern.
Let's create a setting where "you are what you eat" is taken more literally.
so alot of people would be dicks
>cannibal society
>everyone slowly start looking like each other
>>49228626
>they begin to eat those that are not like the rest
>they begin to eat those that are not equal to them
>technology increase leads to computers
>then to AI
>then to singularity
>massive bio-technological AI designed to eat the universe
>or die being eaten
New page is up, didn't see a thread.
tl;dr - Words as usual.
>>49227546
I just don't care anymore. So many pages wasted on WORDS bullshit completely ruins the pacing.
>>49227619
I usually disagree on the severity of WORDS but yeah this one is kind of a big offender. Roy and Bandanna's conversation could've been one or two panels, plus maybe one more for Roy dramatically running on deck.
Here, have a thog edit.
>>49227546
>tl;dr - Words as usual.
Such is life, full of bullshit.
Is this patrician tier, do people still play it?
>>49227487
I have never heard of this and have no idea what it is.
Hope that helps OP.

holy shit i saw some advertisement of the sabbat expansion of this on a RPG magazine belonging to my father
