You now regret living in the universe where Brian Blessed didn't play Tom Bombadil.
Wasn't he like 90 when they started The Hobbit?
>>49279934
Tom Bombadil wasn't in the hobbit.
Fuck you OP, that's an awful thing to do to someone.
Gnomes are the least worthwhile race ever to have been created.
Gnomes are terrible, no-good troublemakers with no value whatsoever. Quite frankly, I fail to see how any self-respecting person could even consider playing as a filthy little gnome. They're terrible little turnip-munchers who'd have no issue immolating an entire city of it served their stupid little interests. Gnomes are only worthwhile as football substitutes, and anyone who thinks otherwise should leave.
Gnome apologists stay out. Go fap to garden statuary.

>>49279712
This but unironically. I ban gnomes from all my games. No-one is allowed to play a gnome in my games.

Anyone have any advice for how to run a game set in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime universe?

Alright, let's organically create the kind of setting /tg/ would like to do some free-form RP in. If there's enough interest then maybe we'll have a thread for it. Decisions will be made in order of Popular Vote, followed by First post in the case of ties.
Guidelines:
-As it's freeform, it shouldn't be a matter of what characters are capable of, but rather how they interact, or what they do.
-Plot will likely be Player-generated, with a few story hooks thrown in every now and then, so it may be a good idea for the setting to have two or more factions working against each other, whether that's vying for political power, scientific or magical discovery, or what have you.
-feel free to ask the next question in order to keep setting development going. I'm just the OP of the thread, not the arbiter of the setting creation.
>>49279231
I want skyships. Skyships are radical.
>>49279231
I had an idea for a Humans-only setting where everyone is born with the ability to cast a small single at-will spell, like cantrips in 5E D&D, without the scaling with level. It took place in something like a Renaissance Era, and was more about political Intrigue in the kingdom/empire than anything else, but that was about as far as having it developed goes.
>>49279231
What if we played as two teams of Archeologists competing to re-discover ancient Tech of an alien empire long forgotten. Basically Stargate Atlantis.
Anyone upload the new 40k supplement yet?
>>49279165
Yeah it's up,but for some reason at least for me it doesn't display right. it's trhe same way with the black legion and crimson slaughter supplements for me when they're in .epub format. did i do something wrong when downloading or skip a step?
>>49279244
Use Readium.
>>49279244
Forgot just check the repository on the 40k general under black crusade in the folder.
Would it be scarier to be attacked by Night Lords or Dark Eldar? Why are Night Lords such edgy cunts?
>being scared of cowardly failures of astartes and the insignificant pirate scum of the xenos
the correct answer is when the Space Marines show up to purge them.
>>49278902
They are not cowardly, they are smart.
Tell me Man, is there not one in all your ranks? Is there not one who values courage over life
>>49278851
We used to have one, but he died courageously.

They've given everything they can. Who are you to judge these men?
They didn't want a hero
They just wanted a martyr, a statue to raise.

What system would you use to run a Grindhouse-style one-shot, /tg/? Something that's really in line with 70's/80's exploitation-style films, over the top violence, and really no-fucks-given Tarantino-esque high-energyfun? I want to run a Halloween session, but not horror themed.

Get some friends.
Play as a second player. Compete with yourself. Hate yourself. Learn to love yourself again. Remember what it is you are doing and what you are living for, and feel cleansed by such a catharsis.
Then go out and make some friends.
Arkham Horror is good. Not sure if the LCG will be 1p friendly.
What sorts of conspiracy theories are true in your setting?
Cryptorepitllian elfoids living in the moon-prison of the Great Dragon.
And yes, the moon is getting closer.
>>49277742
>What sorts of conspiracy theories are true in your setting?
Literally every major conspiracy theory in my setting might be true, it's left ambiguous to give the party something to chew on.
Is the magical sword a focus for talking to god, or is the sword itself an intelligent magical item? We know it talks to the wielder and seems to know an awful lot about divinity, but is that because it's divine? Or simply picked up a lot of knowledge over the centuries?

hey /tg/, i was just about to make a swashbuckler antagonist for the next session as a kind of mini-boss for the party and noticed this rule. am i misunderstanding or is this horrendously overpowered?
I suspect you're not misunderstanding it, but it is not horrendously overpowered either.
Initiative + Charisma
Sneak Attack even when not flanking
Yeah seems OP. Are there other conditions for making a sneak attack?
>>49277686
Has to be made with a Finesse weapon or a ranged weapon (in other words, has to be dex-based).
So.... our party has a problem. Long story short: we're too good at our jobs. By complete accident our characters synergize perfectly in combat.
Party composition:
Goliath fighter, mage-knight specialist. Wields a glaive
Dwarf wizard, divination specialty
Tiefling barbarian, totem barbarian (elk)
Elf thief, swashbuckler
Human warlock, great old one pact
We just recently curb-stomped a CR 20 encounter. And by 'curb stomp' I mean 'completely wiped out an entire party of hostile paladins who had the drop on us, in two rounds, without taking more than 6 HP of damage amongst the entire group). We're all level 6. Our DM is understandably upset. Encounters are escalating further and faster than our levels should permit. We are punching WAY above our weight class and winning.
So, what advice can I bring to our DM about creating challenging but balanced encounters?
>>49277460
>So, what advice can I bring to our DM about creating challenging but balanced encounters?
He's fucked because youre playing D&D. If he doesn't have a feel for what would be challenging for your party and doesn't know how to fudge on the fly then there's really nothing to be done. Obviously the CR system has failed to produce a balanced encounter as it often does.
Also
>DM is upset because you beat his encounter too easily
Must be new. He'll get over it eventually or maybe even develop a better sense of the game.

Your DM is probably not playing the game right.
Cam you give some encounter info. ThI'd sounds wrong-a-roomier.
