>party goes to find dog seller
>only one dog seller in town and he is only willing to sell on of his dogs and at a very high price
>rogue attempts to haggle
>fighter buys the dog before him
>rogue is upset
>party leaves
>rogue throws a tantrum and attacks the party
>my cleric was away doing priest shit
>bullshit an excuse for my character to head back to the party
>DM is chill and allows it
>my cleric arrives
>rogue just rolled a nat 20 on the fighter
>attack him with fire
>battles goes on for another turn
>guards show up
>arrest rogue
>rogue is put on trial
>rogue managed to negotiate down to a fine from 50 lashes
>because inquisitorial cleric, DM lets me make a meme rolls for detect heresy
>judge/governor of colony is a massive fucking heretic
>decide to not start shit but I have to rolepaly to my character's personality so I say my cleric shoots a glare at the governor

Thus ended the first party of the campaign, and a new party was created with new characters on a different part of the world.

So i was discussing dnd with a couple friends and the topic of a blind PC was brought up. As someone who has only played 2 short games in the last 6 years i really dont know the game all that well so my contribution to the topic was mostly nonexistent and it didnt get far. But would it be do able to make a blind player character and if so how would one go about playing one?

It would only matter in situations where the environment is pitch black.
Or, you can make him do rolls for everything , take penalties to everything, have another PC be required to help them out at all times, etc.
Or you can go halfway and have them just be missing one eye and have it make no difference.
The first option is obviously most fun, but would it break your immersion? What's the point of playing a blind PC if it doesnt even matter?
Honestly, I wouldn't go for it. Unless they have magical abilities to back them up, blind people don't generally go out to adventure.

Anyone have any rulesets for Zoids tabletop or RP games?
If I can't find a good one then I was thinking of undertaking the most retarded thing I've ever done and make a Zoids module for Battletech because I feel like the movement and shooting rules are the closest analogue to what I want that I can think of. Plus I love the thought of using different Zoid variants the same way there are mech chassis variants in BTTT. Give's me a nice big boner.

Lately I've been looking at depictions of magic in folklore and mythology, and it seems as though there's a certain array of 'spells' that keep coming up. A lot of times they're quite germane to the setting, like fertility rituals or rites for favorable sailing conditions.
However, when you play most TTRPGs, not only do they have hundreds of spells, but most of them are redundant!
In 3.PF I get that casters have a whole trove of tricks, and that's fine if you're for that, but when even Odin only has 18 spells he can use, it bugs me, and most of his were for practical use (I can list them if someone wants).
What I'm saying is that there are certain 'powers' that gods or magic users can use that pop up a lot like transformation or creating magical items or controlling aspects of nature, but modern fantasy has just taken away the gods and given the whole toybox to any player who wants to roll a wizard.
TL;DR If Odin had to get crucified for 9 days and give up an eye for magic knowledge, it's unreasonable that magic missile mcgee just gets everything for free

Their gods are mostly just strong dudes, who as a whole weren't even as strong as someone like Hercules, who was only a demigod in Greek Mythology, which is arguably mid-tier in terms of power. We don't even want to go near Hindu Mythology, which is arguably the most insane in terms of power.
To use Norse mythology as a standard, when most other mythologies are several tiers stronger, is kind of silly. Even Medea had more spells than Odin, and she wasn't even divine.

Why do rules lawyers exist? All tabletop gaming is, is just people having fun imagining shit. All D&D/Pathfinder/etc. are is just a guideline and recommendation, if the GM doesn't wanna use a rule because it's stupid (fucking grapple calculations) then they shouldn't be bitched at by their players.

With a good group, it's passable, but with a group with even a single player who either likes to argue, likes to get their way, or just doesn't really understand what the rest of the group is trying to do, even just a little, than it becomes utter shit.

There isn't. Every deckbuilding game is just a ripoff of Dominion. They always try to get cute and add some extra mechanic, which invariably throws off the balance and strategy and makes the game worse. Random deck of buyables, more than one orthogonal currency, dice rolls, deployment and combat. Every game falls for this and ends being less graceful and more clunky than Dominion.

So, I had an idea for a game that might appeal to /tg/'s palate. I call it Kobolds vs. Crypt Raiders
The basic concept is that it's a Miniatures game where three or more players play as a team of Adventurers, and face off against one or more players who control a team of Tucker's Kobolds. The idea is that you're given a map(drawn on a grid mat), and the kobold team uses a point buy system to purchase traps, monsters, and other defenses in order to defend an objective. These traps range from the save or suck/take damage to the OSR Save or Die variety.
To counterbalance that, the Crypt Raiders have much more character customization, and are able to get better movement, saves on trap types, and special abilities.
What do you guys think? If there's enough interest, I'm willing to actually work on designing the game.
