> be DMing a 5e campaign
> friend decides to play paladin
> gets to point where they capture a warlock NPC
> paladin does not know he is a warlock, forgets to detect evil
> spares warlock's life
> warlock goes to nearby village and steals the crystal he wanted, slaughtering several villagers with his magic
> paladin goes to fight him, learns he has no powers
> he fell because he spared a warlock
> realizes this when he tries to smite evil
> warlock easily BTFOs him, and kills another party member before the PCs finish him off
> paladin player gets incredibly salty and refuses to make another character
> long argument about alignment in which I explain to him that lawful good means you cannot have mercy on evil
> gets into debate about calvinism and he tells me to fuck off and storms out of the house
> later find out that he named his paladin after his brother who died in a car crash 4 years earlier
Why is it so hard to play a paladin correctly? In old D&D you did detect evil to make sure you weren't sparing an evil person. It's not that fucking hard. That's the problem with RPGs these days, everyone wants everything spoonfed to them so they can actualize their autistic character concept. No one wants to put in effort to learn how to play the fucking game anymore.
What possesed you to post this?
>>49308852
>Why is it so hard to play a paladin according to my own autistic views of morality which are known only to me and never explained to the players because I expect them to read my mind.

Welp... I guess we're walking from here on out lads. For now, I suggest we find ourselves some shelter. That hospital down the street looks like a good place to lay low.

FAQ:
>What the fuck is this?
Somewhat a campaign of crack-infused free-form roleplay in the grim darkness of the far future.
>When do you guys make these threads?
Usually mondays at 4PM GMT, but they sometimes extend to Tuesdays if we got caught in the middle of something when the thread died and it was too late to make another one the same day.
>Can I join in?
Sure, just think of a character and have fun, you can find most info in 1d4chan albeit it's ussually a little bit out of date in comparison to where the threads are.
>Is there any requirement in character creation.
Not really, we've had Xeno infiltrators, Chaos infiltrators, Villains, Heroes, Normal Guardsmen, Crazed Guardsmen, Assassins, Psykers, Space Marines, Inquisitors, Squats... just think whathever and join the fun.
>Is it allowed to have more than a single character?
Yes as long as you don't use it to powerplay.
>So how you guys do the playan'?
We tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, but nothing is set in stone.
We tend to use greentexts for describing a character's actions, but again nothing is set in stone.
Use d20s for combat checks and d100s for other things you want to roll, higher Is better.
It's important to know that the regiment is now in the employ of a radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, with influence from an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and under the watch of an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor. Yes we've been through a lot of shit.

What should the distribution of PC class levels among the population be in an E6 game world?
>>49302705
I've always wanted to just have a portable hole of shitty 1HD skeletons. Maybe Burning ones so they'll accomplish at least something, barring fire resist.
So I just throw it down and cackle 'GO, MY PRETTIES!' while the rattlebones clatter forth.
>>49302740
95% of population should be NPC classes.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm plate armour is harder to make than swords. It uses more metal and requires more labour.

Looks like you've got some lessons to learn.
Confess your /tg/-related sins. No judging people in this thread, no matter what. Get it off your chest. Even if it's the most common one, "I don't actually play tabletop."
I'll start.I really love Pathfinder. I've spent so much time and effort learning it and its ins and outs. I think all its problems can be solved with a good GM and social contracts between players. It's fun as fuck.
But I think it doesn't have enough players. I think other RPGs are threatening Pathfinder and stealing players from it. That's why I deliberately disinform people about other RPGs and try to suggest Pathfinder instead. I do it everywhere: /tg/, other RPG boards, Facebook, real life.
I know the basics of other RPGs even if I don't play them and hate them, so I know what half-truths and misleading things to say to turn people off them. And even if I haven't heard of an RPG before, I'm good at spinning up bullshit to scare people off it. Sorry, but I can't afford Pathfinder's player base shrinking.
That's mine. What about yours?

>No judging people in this thread, no matter what.
Instead of bashing our players, give examples of when your players surprised you in a good way.
I for one just had my players completely trump my session in a way I didn't see coming, but really should have, namely shrinking a party member and sneaking them into a jail cell to start a slave uprising.
My favorite thing is coming up with clever plans in the back pocket.
My group came up with an awesome combo with the Stinking Cloud spell in 5e D&D and then the Fighter using Pushing Attack to keep crowds of enemies on lockdown while other ones are focused down.
We also took out a bbeg really early in a campaign when our monk drop-kicked him out of a tower and the rest of the group ganked his ass.
>>49287066

Will mono-red be viable?
>>49277944
I want R/g aggro energy to be a thing
hoping for a Red one drop that doesn't suck.
Right now all standard will have is Falkenrath Gorger, and while 2/1 is okay, it's ability is a blank in this deck.
But two drop has some good cards, and some good 4 drop top ends.
of course now I'm going to get yelled at for saying that aggro decks will care about 4 drops, because any aggro deck that hasn't won on turn 4 can't win, or it isn't an aggro deck.
>>49278057
Going by what we've seen so far?
Not a chance.
I hope Red gets some good tools though, I want Thermo-Thing to survive as a deck, it's so close to being truly viable and it's so much fun to play.
Pic related, my current build.

Tiers are usage-based. A Tier 2 deck can be better than a Tier 1 deck in a specific metagame.
