What if, as IG, you brought 10 Chimeras of big cats into battle and upon targeting the enemy with lasguns, released the felids? Would they go after red dots?
The results would be catastrophic.
It could result in a continent-wide cataclysm
They would most likely go catatonic.

The game is semi-generic fantasy, we have 3 players: a wizard, a fighter, a barbarian. thief is somewhat needed, but there are ways around that.
I'm running a Demon the Descent game on Roll20. Post over there if you're interested.

They mostly think about the fight, not the win itself.
What's really funny is people are going to ragepost without saging.

What are some good generic dungeon designs?
I mostly just mean the general layout. How the rooms are connected and laid out.

Descending level by level, with each level corresponding to the party's level.

Howdy folks,
I've decided that I want to run a Demon: The Descent game. I haven't run a world of darkness game before but I love the setting, theme, and feel of Demon so seemed like a good place to start. Any tips?
Also looking for art to help show the players. I'll get us started.
Also going to be setting the game in NYC during Occupy Wall Street.
Do you think the chaos gods are meant to be reminiscent of the horsemen of the Apoclypse? War is clearly analogous to Khorne, Pestilence is clearly analogous to Nurgle, and Tzeentch could possibly be analogous to Death? That would leave Slaanesh for Famine, and Slaanesh pretty much represents the opposite of famine.
It's not a one-to-one correlation, but the resemblance is so great for two of them that I'm inclined to think that there's at least some kind of connection going on. The fact that they squatted perfectly serviceable fifth member Malal implies that maybe they wanted exactly four.
>>49563922
They wanted that exact-four symbolism and for the lot of them to be reminiscent of the Four Horsemen, but didn't care enough to match it up closer than that. That's my wager leastways.
>>49563922
Excess leads to famine. Famine could be that guy who it's your sandwich before you.
>I'm inclined to think that there's at least some kind of connection going on
There is no correlation.
The 4 gods were made as a different incarnation of the 80s stereotype of the Devil.
Devil as an angry homicidal warrior - Khorne
Devil as the rock&roll version - Slaanesh
Devil as the trickster - Tzeentch
Devil as the bringer of plague and famine - Nurgle
Excuse me Commissar, but why did the emperor even make 20 primarchs when he could just have went straight for Thunderwarriors 2.0? Especially since he was able to make geneseed from his own DNA - as we see with the grey knights. It wasn't really the primarchs who conquered the galaxy, it was the legions of hundreds of thousands of Space Marines. Why would he create beings who might be able to threaten in any way? No primarchs, no heresy, no problems. He'd conquer the galaxy a bit slower, sure, maybe even noticeably slower, but since he knew about the warp it seems awfully reckless to risk it.

I love it when Tg writes 40k stories or fluff.
Please cheer me up Tg.

One time I played a game of 40k with this guy I barely knew. We didn't have time to finish, and later that night he went home and killed himself.
Another time I gave up on my D&D game because I found this injured dog by the roadside and I took it to the nearest vet, but it died anyway.

Zaibatsu is a Cyberpunk RPG that is basically super close to Cyberpunk 2020, except without the useless rules. I'm tempted to call it a retroclone but it would be an anachronism as this unknown gem was written in 1994(!)
Basically, here's how it works. You roll under a target number with 2D, as in Traveller Classic, and you get Skills (which are things you either have or don't have, and don't tell you what you can or cannot do but what you're good at), some Gear, a concept and backstory, and you're done. The game is currently available in html format free of charge if you just type Zaibatsu by Paul Elliott in Google. I'm gonna try it out soon, just wanted to let people know that there is a traditional, rules-light yet setting-full retrofuturistic Cyberpunk game, and it's not even new.
>>49563649
I've been mentioning this game in cyberpunk threads here since forever but this is the first time I've seen someone actually play it.
It partly inspired my simplified take on Cyberpunk 2020 which I'm currently playtesting.
>>49563784
I'd love to hear more about that. I've spent years tweaking CP2020 but I've never found a "final" version that satisfied me. I don't hang much in cyberpunk threads as it triggers my vapid autism and makes me want to yell at people about the meaning of Cyberpunk and my opinions and Shadowrun, non-productive shit.

I'm running a delta green game. A monster from outside time which can puppeteer corpses and access their memories got its ethereal claws on the corpse of a FBI agent. Two questions:
What does the monster do? It's not immediately apparent that it's not the puppet, though their death is clear
How does the thing bring more of itself into the world? I had a notion that there's a sealed sarcophagus which houses the original vector, and if the Thing can regain access to it, it can start raising an army of itself. Where does delta green conceal its spooky dangerous shit?
>>49562863
>Where does delta green conceal its spooky dangerous shit?
just make something up. call it 'site 650b' or something and when they ask whats at 'site 650a' you say 'we... don't go to 650a any more.'
>>49562893
Alright, so where is it? Deep beneath a post office? A locked area of a sewer? Delta Green doesn't have access to official storage anymore, not like they did in the 40s
>>49562916
'hey kid. you... ever hear that old children's song? the one that goes 'over the river and through the woods.. yadda yadda.. grandpa's house. yeah? well... we're going there.'
then you magic up a transdimensional safehouse delta took from a daemon that preyed upon lost travelers back in the mid-1800s. you can only get there by doing what the song says (make up verses for this), but it can be accessed from anywhere in the world by meeting the conditions.
The world has ended.
War still hasn't fucking changed.
Whats left of humanity are a bunch of weirdos remaking Mad Max with clearly defined traits.
Fuck it lets make a new society for this wasteland! we'll be using the PA Society Creation Table from 1d4chan
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Post_Apocalyptic_Society_Creation_Tables
First roll (1d100) How badly are we mutated?
Rolled 24 (1d100)
>>49561906
Oh boy, I hope we're not a bunch of lesbian cannibal troglodytes.
>>49562006
Congratulations we're all partly mutated in our own minor special ways ranging from cancer to allergies to existence and only a few of us will make it to true old age WOO!
Now up next!
What kind of group did we form into after the "fall?" (1d100) what are we?
Rolled 65 (1d100)
>>49562050
Let's hope we're still fucking sane.
If you're playing a game where a well-aimed hit to the abdomen with a sword by a skilled fighter isn't immediately incapacitating, and SKIMPY ARMOR is your realism gripe, you are seriously mentally fucked.
OP, armor autists have existed for years and I doubt your faggotry will suddenly evaporate their gripes.
>>49561631
Why make a new thread for this? There's perfectly reasonable shitthread for this line of thought already on the board >>49546396
>>49561631
Thank you for the heads up.
How do I approach the problem of social combat.
Players asking things that are not really relevant and get shitty when the NPC seemingly has nothing of value to them. Or just straight up trying to intimidate or kill their way through social encounters.
Should I just shrug it off and continue the game - let them get mad, or should I just give them the info they want?
>>49561410
So your problem is that players are asking NPCs questions that the NPC doesn't know the answer to? I'm just trying to clarify
>>49561410
If you're playing with assburgers or murderhobos, just let them roll for everything
>>49561607
Sorry should have clarified.
>The party arrived at a pirate port/bay.
>The party then asked the Captain they were traveling with, where he stays while in port.
He motions to the ship, "Have little need fo' anywhere else."
>The party asks if there are any taverns to drink at.
"Look aroun', just pick up a bottle and start drinkin'", The port is a wash of booze, bodies, coin and fights. "There isnt a place much like that here, gets robbed too often."
>Party gets mad, asks the captain the same questions in different fashions.
>It doesnt go anywhere, so they walk off in a huff.
Few more times this happens throughout the sesh. After it, one of the players was feeling pretty shitty about the social stuff. I said maybe you have to think about other things to ask, what if you asked for the Cap to introduce you to his contacts on the port?
>Player "OMG limit the questions to specific things?! This is why we can never get anything done."
Me, "ah well...no, you just have to ask the right things, a man cant tell you where a road is if he has never been on it, but he might be able to tell you where to find local carriage services"
>Player, "thats far too complicated and spcific."
Is he right, should I have hand held their way through the social stuff?
