So a week or two ago I made a thread asking for advice on one of my players girlfriend insisting she comes along despite having no interest in the game.
I got some good advice, most of which centred on just being reasonable and talking to her. I had, what I thought was a reasonable talk with her in front of her boyfriend. I just asked if she was sure she wanted to play and that I knew from previous attempts at games with our friends that I didn't think it would be her thing. (last time we just played cards and she was bored and uninterested then) since I didn't want her to feel left out and be bored because that wouldn't be fun for herself or anyone else. Anyway, she's taken it as a huge personal attack but is still insisting she comes and plays.
Should I just call the game off? She'll probably just end up ruining it anyway.
>>49591966
Maybe stop being a jerk and let this woman play.
>>49591966
I'll take shit that didn't happen.
>>49591976
>>49591979
She doesn't want to play, she has no interest and only wants to come to be with her boyfriend. Which I understand. I've said to her we can do something else and can do the game some other weekend.
And it happened like 30 minutes ago.

What Space Marine chapters have the comfiest home planets? The Dark Angels being the antithesis of comfy, as an example.
>>49588028
Ultramarines have the comfiest.
>>49588028
I dunno, I find something comfy about floating through space in a huge space station.
Salamanders have the comfiest in the imperium
-proper medieval edition.
For a little project of mine I need a reference for period-appropriate armaments that would've been found across western Europe (lets say: Poland, and everything to the left); lets say from 800-1199AD~ish. Obviously it doesn't need to be super exact, and a degree of anachronistic content indeed expected and acceptable, I'm just looking for those kinds of things; that kind of vibe.
One thing I do want is some weapons that were popular, but rarely seen in any sort of fiction. On this point I would like the suggestions to be more time appropriate.
Any and all arms & armor are welcome. I just wanted to take the OP to make a request.
I'll start with some example stuff, and just post whatever after.

Don't see a problem if they've got the strength for it.
>>49580360
I'd be more concerned with their size. If they're a giant then sure, have a big-ass ballista as your crossbow.
If the character is a little girl though you better have a high animu tolerance.
>>49580290
Let them deal with the logistics of carrying it, but more importantly let them use it when given a chance.

Have you ever seen/played someone with involuntary cyberware? Not Mr. Two Legs That Let Me Outrun A Westwind, but Mr. One Leg Because Of An Azzie Mine.
>>49586902
I once played a game where a guys only cyberware was his cyber head. He was the groups fixer, and had apparently taken a shotgun blast to the lower part of his face at one point. It completely destroyed his face and neck, but his brain was largely intact. They saved it, stuck it in a jar, and then stuck the jar back on his body.
Anywhere I can download all of the Neo-Anarchist podcasts, WITH titles?
I tried downloading them one by one from podcast sites, but the file names are just gibberish and I don't wanna name them all manually.
>>49586958
So was he just a floating brain in a jar, or did they rebuild a proper cyberskull?

What are some cool encounter/monster ideas for a tar-pit region? The land is imbued with a lot of fire energy, and since it's super dry, I'm thinking of having something similar to a Black Pudding, except disguised as a water pool. When one tried to drink from it, they get engulfed.
Party is all levels 4-5, they have a level 7 warlock with them though.
There's a Necromancer, an Inquisitor, a Rogue, and a Fighter.
I'm thinking possibly Giant Striders? They'd made decent mounts, I think.
Also, one of my players is an entomologist, so any vermin would be cool too.
>>49579428
Skeleton dinosaurs escaping from the tar.
>>49579936
That would actually be awesome, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I actually have a huge fossil collection and shit, could use some of those as props/for minis.
Is there a good system for doing motorcycle fights, like in akira
>>49579073
I would also like to know.
Actually, two things I'd like to see systems do well:
>PCs on bikes
>PCs in starfighters
Gorkamorka?
>>49579073
The problem most systems have with tbus sort of thing is the sixteen gorillion penalties that are heaped on you. Heroes can never be proper movie style heroes because of daft shit getting in the way.
Excuse me, Patriarch, but why do the Tau, a species far removed from Terra, have the exact same elemental system as the Ancient Greeks, when it has no basis in reality?
Don't know, why do the Eldar borrow so many symbols and aesthetics from ancient human civilizations?I'm actually not opposed to these kinds of threads, but now it's getting stupid
>>49578668
They don't. The actual names of the castes hold completely seperate concepts, it's just easier for us to translate them this way since there's no direct translation into Terran english.

Alright /tg/, what is the absolute most generic DnD/Pathfinder party combination you can think of?
Dwarf fighter, elf ranger, old human wizard, halfling rogue.
Human fighter, elven wizard, Human cleric, halfling rogue.
All male human fighters.
What are good alternatives to feudal kingdoms in a medieval fantasy world? Is it possible to have a believable realm which is not ruled by a military aristocracy/caste?
Republics, theocracies, nomadic societies, tribal societies.

Ditto. Fantasy worlds open up the possibilities for magocracies and the like.

I've lurked on here for a long time, but I've never actually played any Tabletop game. I've always wanted to but never had the opportunity due to growing up in a fairly rural area. I recently moved to a bigger city for school. Any tips on how to go about getting into a group? What would I need to get started? And do I just pick up the basics as I play or should I go out and buy books?
Character Art dump while I wait for answers
Do you have friends? Since you are posting on 4chan, you probably don't. But just in case you do - try to get them to play with you, use some simple fun system like DnD 5e for your first game.
If you don't have any friends, you should try roll20 - not only it's a good virtual table, it's got a "looking for group" feature built in. Be warned, however, that those playing online are more likely than not to be social outcasts, furries, That Guys and other people who have to resort to the internet because they can't find the group normally.
You should probably buy the books if you can afford it, but if you're a poorfag from Thirdwordistan like me, it's probably not an option. Luckily for you, every popular system has it's books uploaded to the internet. For example, there's a link to DnD 5e megatrove in our local general.
