I got a few days off from work (union rules) so I thought I'd do something nice for my favorite board.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to draw things I don't usually draw.
Sleepy, is that you?
Can you blame Khornates? If I lived in such a grimdark setting I would be pissed off too this is the choice between either living a piece of shit slave life or freedom and jolly rampage. Everyone of us would choose Chaos if we were in their boots and Imperium is the real villain.
Can you blame Loyalists? If I lived in such a grimdark setting I would be a stalwart bastion of order too this is the choice between either living a piece of shit heretical life or honour and righteous purging. Everyone of us would choose the Emperor if we were in their boots and doubt is the real villain.
>>49659308
Nice that you linked a white scar.
Honestly if I was a warhammer human and turned evil I'd probably go Khornate. Similar nihilism bent as Nurgle, but you don't have to look like a gross sack of fuck.
But I think the horrid nature of Warhammer 40k just makes fighting for goodness that much more rewarding.

>How much do you think a meta will be established in the time between backers getting their ships and the general public being able to buy DFC?
A Meta WILL be established, but it's a meta that is without Battleships or Corvettes. A meta that will have limited Battlecruisers and due to ship number limitations generally will be top heavy in an attempt to maximise points per ships.
Skirmish level will be common.
People who ordered double starter sets will have more freedom in list building and battle level, but even then, there will be limits.
>>49656837
That's a good point. With people gushing about how much stuff they've got coming it was easy to forget all those models will often be spread across a few fleets. And, like you say, that plenty of people are only getting a starter fleet or so per faction.

It's crazy, just read the card man.
>>49651184
An extra card every turn is good.
But for a control deck being left with a maximum hand size of 0 is terrible because you can't hold onto any answers. And for an aggro deck it seems way too slow.
It's definitely a lot worse than Phyrexian Arena for anything outside of Standard. But this is the Standard thread and I don't really know what the current Standard is like. So is it really broken in Standard?
>Party wants to run an undead campaign, where the main goal is to raise an army, take a kingdom, and create an empire
I need cool ideas for undead characters. So far we're thinking a Lich, with a Revenant as his champion. We're playing DnD 5e
>>49647442
Sounds ultra grim-dark, meaning it will naturally be kinda silly.
What about a super-vain elf, who just happens to be dead? He spends a lot trying to sew the pieces that fall off back on, and keeps trying ridiculous new concoctions of makeup.
A dwarf who thinks that being dead just means he doesn't have to worry about hang-overs because he doesn't need to sleep, any more.
An emaciated human who makes up exotic races to pretend to be, to explain his pale skin and emaciated figure. Mostly he tries to pass himself off as half snow-elf.
I dunno... fun things.
>>49647442
Vampires and mummies are good intelligent undeads who'd be interested in ruling things.
>>49647442
Not sure if it really helps but i was working on a sort of self Frankensteining doctor. He would sew shit to himself and others to heal people and shit like that. Now outside of an undead campaign that's mostly a down side, people start complaining about the idiot who keeps sewing girls to dogs and shit like that.
I was also creating a dwarven setra.Basically the greyest of beards and wants everything to be bigger and more challenging so the dwarves of the day will not be so weedy.
Right now i am playing an undead who pretends to be a leper to blend into human society (as well as a rotting corpse/leper can). He's driven to kill as many unthinking undead (he's far more lenient on undead that WANT to live). All of his shit kind stems from the fact he was a worshipper of the raven queen and just 't wants to keep on living.
Welcome to the Accidental Magical Girl thread!

>This is NOT a greentext adventure style CYOA with one GM and thread posting to dictate the adventure, but rather a hub thread for multiple storycrafters to use. A majority of activity (including campaigns) instead happens in the IRC, which is open for newbies to join. Some players have split off and created a Discord server which can be used for the same purpose.
The OP image is a writing prompt/adventure seed/thought exercise like most CYOA's.
SCS is a bolt on to the CYOA that provides a rule framework for combat using just the options provided by the CYOA. It provides 1-to-1 matching of options to rules so your build will transfer over seamlessly.
AMGC (the blue pdfs) is a self contained rule system that emulates, but does not mirror the base CYOA. It has additional powers and perks that the pink documents don't have, and does not have an equivalent for origins and patrons.
MGX is a third rule system in development that isn't done yet.
If you're trying to mirror the build you get in the CYOA, SCS is currently the way to go.
In general, AMGC use is more prevalent in the IRC channel and SCS in the Discord.
Post builds, roleplay, write stuff.

The CYOA's Patron Module, which determines just who bestows your character's magical abilities. But be wary, for not all of these patrons are after your best interests...
Introducing the MGCYOA Supplementary Combat System!
The SCS was made as an add-on to the CYOA to cover the combat side of roleplaying. It allows players to easily take characters made in the CYOA v1.5 and use them in Quests and long-running campaigns alike.
This PDF covers the basics of magical girls and sets the groundwork for future updates (which will include Patrons, DMGs, and Monster Girls).

So quick question, I am in a gestalt campaign and making an Ivory Templar, that means Cleric prestiging to Sentinel and getting all the fun bonuses of worshipping Baphomet as time goes on.
My GM hates things that are 3pp and the hybrid classes. What would be a good class to compliment a bit of unrequested glaive love to the enemy's face? I'm stuck between fighter or Barbo.
>>49670057
Urban Barbarian, so you can still cast while you beat people's faces in.
But really, I don't think you absolutely need to MC, since you're already a Cleric which are solid at combat to begin with.

Yes
Judas Priest are a very mediocre heavy metal band.
What's the best system to run Delta Green /tg? 5th Ed CoC? The new DG system coming out right now? Or should I just go with GUMSHOE Esoterrorists?
>>49641465
>GURPS
I am not kidding.
>>49641465
New Delta Green or old Delta Green.
>>49641465
Why don't you just use the rules for Delta Green.
How do you deal with magic in a low fantasy setting, /tg/ ?
How do you keep magic interesting and balanced when you're wandering in a low fantasy world ?
For my part, I like to keep it limited to precise application domains, like physical tasks. Your magicians can create fireballs, move objects, but at the expense of high concentration and physical energy. That way the magician is quite exposed if alone.
On the other way, I've also thought about things like group casting, where the effect is multiplied by the number of casters. We can imagine regiments of wizards casting giant spells on ennemy armies or castles, while being vulnerable to cavalry and infantry when melee comes.
The problems come with the limitation, it makes magic something very precise, like science, which is interesting in itself, but it lacks the mystery and dangerousness a classical sorcerer has.
For example, how would you deal with more spiritual magic ? Like mind control, incantation and shit like that ?
I keep it out of the player's hands.
>>49664594
The more precise it is, the less mysterious it is.
I say keep scientific magic like that very rare, and have most magic be one-off events caused by gods or powerful monsters or unique gifted casters.
>>49664815
This.
Or if they must access it, make it mystical, and uncertain in its effects.
Like charms for repelling Ghosts, or offerings to ancient spirits that may or may not dwell within the forest, but which must be appeased, or disaster may befall you.

What's your favorite flavor of warlock?
>>49661888
I love the warlocks that are off-putting and feel alienated from everyone else. Mechanically that really makes me like the GOOlocks. One that doesn't flaunt their power, but simply hints that he's more than he seems.
I want to make a Dirge Singer school for Bards. A sort of necromancer-bard that can overwhelm people with feelings of mourning and loss. What can I do for its bardic inspiration? My first thought would be to let them cast Animate Dead, but getting a 3rd-level spell at level 3 like that would be too powerful.
>>49661951
Just refluff college of satire or lore and take animate dead as your free spell from another class. You don't need to make a whole new school.
What are Chaos Orkz, Chaos Eldar (not Dark Eldar), and Chaos Tau like?
>>49658117
Chaos Orks are extremely rare, and are usually shunned out of Ork society. If an Ork DOES become corrupted it's usually by accident.
Eldar die instantly when Chaos touches their soul. The closest you'll get to "Chaos Eldar" in terms of behavior are Dark Eldar, but they hate Chaos. On the Eldar Crone World (ancient Eldar worlds captured in the Eye of Terror) you'll find damned Eldar who are more just grimdark scenery than an actual faction.
Tau have very, very tiny souls, and so don't develop psykers and are very resistant to Chaos. Even if they were exposed to Chaos, their faith in the Greater Good would probably shield them even more.
>>49658205
What are the dampens Eldar then?
>>49658233
possessed or chaos spawn
>>49658205
there's an open question over the nature of Farsight's mysterious alien blade and his apparent incredible long life after he found it
Chaos Orks, in older editions, were usually followers of Khorne, but since the Gork/Mork importance (and violence) has been ramped up in later fluff, that seems less likely

This is only my second campaign to DM (first was a premade), so I don't know if I'm just a bad DM or what? How can I design a campaign for a girl? She says she doesn't like the combat so much. Also general DM tips for new DM's?
Well, you can't simply have us tell what you did wrong, if you won't tell us what you did. What was that mini-campaign like?
>>49656605
She created a Sorcerer under the dragon blood build. She had a hermit-like backstory, so the campaign involved her going to a temple that her father used to visit (her father was part of the dragon cult, but she never knew this) and it's now being desecrated by goblins. She had only just got to the entrance of the temple, with a few scraps with some goblins on the way.
>>49656651
> First session is a dungeon crawl
Have you tried getting her to talk to interesting NPCs and end up in interesting situations instead? I know that killing goblins is what DnD is about, but I've always liked those slice of life episodes and town sequences much more. I'm sure half the /tg/ is the same way.
