one that i have been with for years is a homebrew by a guy. It followed D&D 3.5 rules, but was completely original from the ground up otherwise. The guy spent about ten years on this and shared it with us. he had everything indexed and sorted perfectly, had thousands of lists set up. he had unique and wonderful npc's who you loved to love or loved to hate. He has his fiancee co-Dm with him (we have a large group- six regulars and a few floaters) since she spent about six years helping him with it and they take turns with the npcs as voice actors. We enjoy a nice, full day once a week doing this, for about 12-14 hours.
sadly, he refuses to actually let us look at much material on it, besides the several books worth of lore he has written up.

I like ships landing at ports or caravans travelling through really inhospitable places, its a good story way to force the team to have interracted with each other in some manner. They dont necessarily have to wrok with each other, it can just be "oh I remember you from the boat"

I think having several dice cups would be more practical.
If somehow someone could have a dice tower for each person at a table like a billiards/pool table or maybe one large dice tower in the center with more than one face, would be more interesting.
I personally also have to use my hands but I would like a dice tower.

Nice prop if you have a nice table. I enjoy props and clutter. I feel like people get more into the game, if they have more game-stuff around them whether handouts, maps, dice, dice towers... whatever. Just more stuff to physically tie them into shared make-believe.

That being said: I've never found a dice tower I actually think looks nice. If I could find one that was just nice wood, that'd be great. But it's always some cheesy faux-terrain piece in balsa or some crap.

For dice, I like ones carved outa semi-precious stones. They're pretty and heavy.

Most religious people compartmentalize their beliefs so they don't mentally overlap with the real world or with fiction.

I don't play 40K, but I do play Magic, various RPGs, and am starting to look into Battletech.
What's so incomprehensible about it? It's recreation. Enjoying something isn't the same as worshiping it. Just because I play a character that proselytizes St. Cuthbert and his holy crusade doesn't mean I personally believe in any of that.
But it is hilarious how Magic has this kind of anti-religion stigma about it.

Appearance: Metal suit that forms around the user

Power - B
Speed - C
Range - E
Durability - A
Precision - C
Potential - D

Ability: [Gas Pedal] can break down solid objects into a gas form by touching them, and then reform the gas into a solid again at will.
This is usually done after a target has inhaled this new gas so they are destroyed from the inside after its reformed.

The palms of the stand also have fans built in to them to propel these gases

Basically the user operates based on the perspective of the stand.
Examples: If two staircases appear to be one from the shuttles perspective, then the user could walk up them as if this was the case, effectively teleporting. If the shuttle is looking down from the sky then the top of a building and the ground would appear to be on the same plain, so the user could step from the ground onto the the roof. If the shuttle views the user through a glass of water then he could swim through the air.
