So I started DM'ing a Runequest game set in Glorantha last month, and now I wanna talk about Glorantha and runequest!
My Party were guests of honour during festival to the god Heler in Dragon Pass. The festival is repeated every 10 years to honor the deeds of Heler in the particular valley the village was in, the PC's played the role of Heler in these celebrations.
Heler's first deed had been the planting of a thousand apple trees, the PC's planted a single apple above the temple.
The second deed was Heler baiting all chaotic monsters out of the valley. The ran down a hill being chased by villagers wearing strange masks, when they reached the river at the foot of the hill the other townsmen, symbolising Heler's allies threw everybody intothe river.
His third deed was to make it rain for a whole day, making the valley very fertile. The players danced with the rest of the village for a couple of hours, and at the height of celebrations rains started falling.
Heler's last deed was brining the three great herds into the Valley. The players had to hunt and kill a beast from every herd and bring their bodies to the village for the feast that came after the festival.

What Runequest edition did you use? The recently rereleased Runequest 2 perhaps?
Tell us more about the party and the characters, how did they come to be involved in that ritual?
Also, did they shift to the Hero plane during the festival? Was the intent simply to thank Heler (and get magic points or something) or to make it rain?
What's the overall scenario of that campaign? Where do you think they'll go next?
Thanks.
4chan has a small number of Gloranthaphiles. If a thread like this is to succeed, they have to see it. Good luck with that.
Personally, I like RuneQuest. Great game in (almost) all editions and versions. I'm more lukewarm on Glorantha.

Migrating.
Requesting my character at her husband's rugby match.
Her clothing is marked by the orange dots. Shorts, and then bodypaint of his team's colorswhich I have never specified in-game, feel free to pick whichever works best. Her hair is next to the blue dot, and her expression by the red dot. His jersey number is '2' if you want to put that on her chest or tummy. This isn't supposed to be a lewd request by any means, she's just very aggressively into sports.
Requesting someone draw a black haired, bitchy, coca-cola rival for Pepsi-Chan based off this chick, but with the suit otherwise identical to Pepsi-chan's except it has a red and white coke color scheme.

Kings of War Historical
7th October in military history:
1406 – French troops comprising 1,000 men at arms landed on Jersey and fought a battle against 3,000 defenders.
1513 – Battle of La Motta: Spanish troops under Ramón de Cardona defeat the Venetians
1571 – The Battle of Lepanto is fought, and the Holy League (Spain and Italy) annihilates the Turkish fleet.
1777 – American Revolutionary War: The Americans defeat the British in the Second Battle of Saratoga, also known as the Battle of Bemis Heights.
1780 – American Revolutionary War: Battle of Kings Mountain: American Patriot militia defeat Loyalist irregulars.
1800 – French corsair Robert Surcouf, commander of the 18-gun ship La Confiance, captures the British 38-gun Kent.
1828 – Morea expedition: The city of Patras, Greece, is liberated by the French expeditionary force in the Peloponnese under General Maison.
1864 – American Civil War: Bahia incident: USS Wachusett illegally captures the CSS Florida Confederate raider while in port in Bahia, Brazil in violation of Brazilian neutrality.
1870 – Franco-Prussian War: Siege of Paris: Léon Gambetta flees Paris in a hot-air balloon.
1942 – World War II: The October Matanikau action on Guadalcanal begins as United States Marine Corps forces attack Imperial Japanese Army units along the Matanikau River.
1985 – The Achille Lauro is hijacked by Palestine Liberation Front.
2001 – The Global War on Terrorism begins as a result of the September 11 attacks. The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan initiates with an air assault and covert operations on the ground.
It is 445 years since the Battle of Lepanto, a naval engagement in which a fleet of the Holy League (a coalition of European Catholic maritime states arranged by Pope Pius V, led by Spanish admiral Don John of Austria and mostly financed by the Spanish Empire), decisively defeated the fleet of the Ottoman Empire on the northern edge of the Gulf of Corinth, off western Greece. The Ottoman forces sailing westwards from their naval station in Lepanto met the Holy League forces, which came from Messina, Sicily, where they had previously gathered. The victory of the Holy League prevented the Ottoman Empire from expanding further along the European side of the Mediterranean. Lepanto was the last major naval battle in the Mediterranean fought entirely between galleys and has been assigned great symbolic and historical importance by several historians.
Don John's fleet consisted of 206 galleys and 6 gallasses (large galleys that mounted artillery). The Ottoman admiral Ali Pasha commanded 230 galleys and 56 galliots (small galleys). As the fleets sighted each other, they formed for battle. For the Holy League, Don John, aboard the galley Real, divided his force into four divisions, with the Venetians under Agostino Barbarigo on the left, himself in the center, the Genoese under Giovanni Andrea Doria on the right, and a reserve led by Álvaro de Bazán, Marquis de Santa Cruz in the rear. In addition, he pushed gallasses out in front of his left and center divisions where they could bombard the Ottoman fleet
Flying his flag from Sultana, Ali Pasha led the Ottoman center, with Chulouk Bey on the right and Uluj Ali on the left. As the battle opened, the Holy League's gallasses sank two galleys and disrupted the Ottoman formations with their fire. As the fleets neared, Doria saw that Uluj Ali's line extended beyond his own. Shifting south to avoid being flanked, Doria opened a gap between his division and Don John's. Soon Doria's ships were duelling with Uluj Ali's.

Trying to decide what to do with the Cold Ones. Tried adding a layer ontop of the base and wash for one, but I'm not liking how extreme it looks.

Not sure what will look best, a blue/green/grey sounds right but I hate buying a pot for something that minor, and I'm just drop the chroma on a Baharroth Blue.
Also, looking at the citadel guide, WTF their are three different green wash shades used.
I looks like camoshade is basically a mix of agrax and a green, but what's the difference between the other two?

For your science fantasy needs, some of the Numenera cyphers and artifacts are breddy good and it takes no effort to convert them.
>Reality Spike: once activated, the spike does not move—ever—even if activated in midair. A Might action will dislodge the spike, but then it is ruined.
>Spatial Warp: when affixed to another numenera device that affects a single target at range, that range is increased to 1 mile (1.6 km) with no penalties. Space is temporarily warped in terms of seeing and reaching the target. If direct line of sight is important to the device’s effect, it remains important.
>Filtration Straw: water that passes through this tube is purified. Most liquids other than water drawn through the tube come out as water (or mostly water).
>Instant Bridge: a handheld device with a few controls. This device fires a cable with a powerful magnet in long range. When the magnet strikes a metal surface, it affixes itself, and the taut cable extends into a narrow bridge about 3 feet (0.9 m) wide. The device can then be affixed to another metallic surface to anchor the bridge. When deactivated, the magnets let go and the cable retracts.

When was the last time you said a prayer to the Laughing god?
I remember this setting that had all the dungeons and evil masterminds and shit managed by an office company. It was called "Parker and Johnson" or some other really generic sounding name. There was only one or two threads about it, but it basically explained why and how this company worked, basically mediating conflicts between adventurers and BBEGS (I think it worked kind of like the Guild of calamitous intent, but I don't remember).
Most of the threads were about office life and various employees, including a mindflayer middle manager, and the CEO who was basically just an awakened housecat

Why are villages so comfy?
Is there a way to justify a setting where most people live in villages without being neolithic or post apocalyptic? I like them autonomous from bigger states and kingdoms
>>49772099
Geography? People will only build settlements where they are likely to have the resources to survive. If those locations are few and far between and don't support more than a certain number of people . . .
>>49772099
Humanity evolved in the pack/tribe as the basic unit. Villages and the like are considered comfy because there's a great deal of familiarity between those involved, and you have enough people around that nobody's struggling but everyone's contributing. Ideally.
Same reason in a post-apoc setting you'll have survivors invariably cluster into a group of like 5-20. It's a size most people can easily handle.
>>49772099
Are you nuts? I was born in a village. It's a constant grind of the same fucked up people grinding on each other until they die. Since it's a village you can never get away with anything and if you speak up against the wife beaters, drunks and general assholes you better be sure he's not gonna come around at night and burn your house down. Fuck villages man.

>How do you make Witch Hunters not look like the bad guys?
By not being a cuck. There are no good magic users, those who try to play god deserve punishment.
>>49768019
>>The real witches are actually controlling the witch hunters and the towns people to sacrifice good magic users
That alone kinda makes teh witch hunters look okay. They're just mooks who've had the wool pulled over their eyes.
Standard protocol calls for one guy to get curious about where the orders are coming from, investigating deeply either their victims or their superiors and uncovering the details and then going out on a killy killy murder fest against the true witches.
Or just play Witch Hunters like its a Delta Green.
Toughly investigate the situation probably have to run most of the time from some witch dancers or some random magical bullshit. Once you have proper evidence AND reason to purge then you are allowed to go in guns blazing and kill any magic fucker who stands in your way
